I really enjoyed the PB & J bowl I got here! The bowl was delicious, and I liked how jam was swirled into the base gave it a nice juicy flavor. Smoothie bowls in general tend to not be quick to make, but they got my bowl out in a timely manner considering that. It's out of the way for me, but I want to come back here if I'm this corner of town again. They do have a few tables inside, but it seems like most people take their orders to go. I ate there and the table was awkwardly short for the height of the stool. It was too hot to sit outside, but the patio out back looked kind of nice. They are vegan-friendly with plant-based milk and protein options, but some of the menu items come with whey protein as the default, so you'll just have to ask to sub it out for soy or pea protein. read more

I've been to Rush Bowl a few times in Bloomington, and while they definitely give you generous portions, the quality doesn't quite match the quantity. Their açaí bowls taste more like ice, and the texture is hard and slushy rather than smooth and creamy. Compared to Smoothie King, which has softer, more flavorful bowls, Rush Bowl's version feels a bit watered down; you can't even taste the fruity flavors. Rush Bowl does let you add one topping of your choice, but that's it. At Smoothie King, you can't add extra toppings, but their bowls already come with well-chosen ones that complement the flavor perfectly. Overall, Rush Bowl gives you more in volume, but Smoothie King wins in taste, texture, and overall balance. Volume alone isn't worth it when it only tastes like ice. read more

My partner and I were in Bloomington a couple of weeks ago and we like to check out spots we have never been to. We were in the mood for a smoothie bowl and we found this place .... and boy, are we glad we found it!! They had quite a few selections and we ordered an açaí bowl with peanut butter bc they ground their peanut butter fresh right there on the spot. Their smoothie bowl is freakin delicious. We finished our bowls in no time. While we were there, we noticed quite a few people coming to partake in the yumminess - always a good sign for business. The place is nice and clean and the staff was friendly. Very good experience. We will certainly be back to this place when we are in Bloomington. read more

I've now been to Rush Bowls a few times, and am impressed with the quality and service every time. Admittedly, I'm eating keto and it's a horrible option if you're avoiding carbs. . . but it's healthier than many other lunch alternatives if you aren't avoiding carbs. The shop is small, with limited indoor seating. They do however have tables and chairs out front and in the back with ample space should you choose to enjoy the nice weather when applicable. The options include a variety of 'bowls' ranging from Acai bowls (acai based obviously) to my favorite the Berry Fresh Bowl (lots of berries, frozen yogurt, granola, honey) to green options. They also have several smoothie options. Add on items include a variety of berries on top to peanut butter to the typical protein, antioxidants, etc. Bowls are VERY generously portioned, delicious, and provide ample fruits and protein options. As I said, I'm watching my carbs so they're a bit sugar heavy due to the fruits, but sometimes I just want one enough that I'm willing to ignore the carbs and just enjoy the great meal! Of note, they also have a great app to pre-order your bowl and get very picky with how each bowl is made, add and subtract ingredients, etc. - all in all it's a great option for a meal or a snack. read more

I was in the Bloomington area for just a week and decided to try out there smoothie bowl spots; this place and InBloom. Despite the reviews being better for InBloom, I much preferred Rush Bowl. The parking was easy, the prices reflected what I saw online and the store was open during the hours it said it was which were all issues I had at InBLoom. I'm addition, the bowl just had more flavor at Rush to me. The texture was perfect. The fruit was fresh. The staff was friendly and the inside was cute although I opted to take mine to go. Overall a great experience and if I'm ever back in Bloomington, I know where to go. read more

Best smoothie bowls I've had in town! Perfect thick, smooth consistency with so much flavor! Their service was very quick and friendly. My bowl was made within 5 minutes of ordering - definitely lives up to its name. The only downside I found was that when I asked for a nut-free smoothie, they informed me that they put peanut butter in all of their blenders and could not guarantee that there would be no cross-contamination. Keep that in mind if you or your friends have allergies. My friend was really bummed out that they couldn't have a bowl with me. It would be a great idea to have a designated blender for nut-free smoothies, especially since the website boasts being allergy-friendly. All of their bowls looked gorgeous but I went with their Berry Fresh bowl with extra blueberries and chia seeds on top.
