I am writing this to warn other business owners about the significant accounting errors and lack of accountability we experienced at Rupert and Associates. We worked with this firm for two years, and it proved to be a major setback for our operations. Despite being assigned a "QuickBooks expert," the firm failed to manage our Housecall Pro integration correctly--continually insisting we simply unlink it. As the business owner, I was eventually able to coordinate with the software providers myself and fix the integration settings within just two weeks. Because our books were not being reconciled monthly as promised, we were advised to file 2024 taxes that were admittedly inaccurate to avoid "correction costs." This resulted in us overpaying on our tax liability based on flawed data. After I hired an independent bookkeeper in late 2025, they uncovered over 700 uncategorized transactions dating back nearly a year. Most damagingly, the firm underpaid our Q3 and Q4 Texas state sales tax. I am now personally responsible for the resulting fines and penalties. Despite these documented failures, the firm still charged $1,000 for "work performed" during the period these errors occurred. When I reached out to the owner to dispute this, they refused to take any responsibility for the penalties their mistakes caused. The initial consultation went great. Seemed very attentive and ready to help with my 1st full year's business taxes. That couldn't be further from the truth. This firm didn't help, guide or strategically do anything for us. I'm a small owner operator plumbing company. Every dollar helps as I'm sure most can understand. They weren't punctual. Weren't professional. Weren't courteous or friendly in the least. Expected us to know everything they needed. Multiple times came back saying more information was needed after us asking that question ahead of time. I don't suggest using these people. After further communication and finalizing the taxes, absolutely nothing changed. I still recommend finding a company who actually cares about thier clients. After acknowledging my concerns, they said take it or leave it basically and they weren't doing anything else. Unless I paid additionally $250per hour for more advice or strategy basically. I couldn't be less satisfied and feel we did all their work for them. The response is comical and extremely vague to cover the truth. Blain is the office manager. She made that extremely clear by answering EVERY question with "I'm not a tax person so I'm not qualified to answer that". So in theory yes You were responsive but accomplished absolutely nothing. The phone call that I personally had with you, I had to ask you at least 10 times to quit interrupting as you tried picking apart every sentence I said. Instead of listening to the whole experience you were asking about, which would help you better understand that situation in entirety. But yall are a spam tax shop and nothing more from mmy experience. I got absolutely no tax advise. No tax strategy talk. I paid yall in full what you asked got months ago. Took until the last day to get it done because nobody cared to help. Terrible all around read more

I viewed myself as a very very small client that probably didn't deserve all this attention, but this is absolutely what I received.. I met with my preparer and a senior partner to go over my papers to further understand and to get the most optimal outcome from my very bleak tax year, for lack of a better term. My wife and I made an appointment with John Paul to have help with our taxes. We were unsure of a few things and he gave us about 20 minutes of his time to talk things over. We were told that our taxes were pretty straight foward and that he'd be happy to do them but we shouldn't have any trouble on our own. He could have easily taken almost $400 to do the work but morality wise he allowed us to make that decision. If you need a tax guy I'd definitely recommend John Paul! read more

Yelp makes you give a one star, otherwise I would have given 0. I have used Rupert and Associates for at least 10 years the service has gone down somewhat over that time. But this time takes the cake. I had download a new version of my book keeping and things were not right. I took my computer to them to get things right again. Getting a call back was next to impossible. And then was told about two weeks later they couldn't fix it. read more
