I called Progressive for an area agent, because one of the three policies that I was looking to move over from State Farm required an agent. Ray, and unusual man, picked up the phone. I told him exactly what I was looking for, and in all honesty, he acted like a total scam artist with regards to fees that they charge outside of the actual insurance cost I wanted a quote on from Progressive. Be warned, they will withhold information, lie to you about your policy, change your policy manager to an "at home" manager, and mislead you! I have spent HOURS trying to arrange a simple call to go over my policies. I have repeatedly asked that Vickie send me a calendar invite so that I could put it on my schedule. Finally, on about the fifth attempt, she sent me a calendar invite for a call for 3:30 pm today. To my frustration, Nancy Heaton messaged me this morning saying that I "opted out" of the call, which is 100% false. I called to try to speak with Nancy, but she was busy. The internal communication at Heaton Bennett is horrible. I do not like to leave negative reviews, but I figure this is the last resort. We'll see if they can correct their own communications and whether they can get their act together for our call at 3:30. read more

The first year I used this company for my business policies I was pretty happy with the customer service. Everything was handled fairly easily and quickly. But since then I was handed off to a different agent and when it came time to renew, what a nightmare. Leading up to expiration I was contacted at least once a day. After explaining to the new agent that I needed to wait on a client contract renewal before making insurance decisions I assumed the messages would stop. However I received reminders at least daily, if not more than once a day. When I expressed annoyance I was told the reminders were automatic. No attempt was made to adjust. Over a month ago I reached out and informed them the client contract was complete and I was ready to renew. I also told them the new contract with my client wasn't final until they received my certificate of insurance. I reached out two more time via email to no response and finally called to complain. I was told, "Don't worry, we'll have something by the end of the week!" That was a week ago. Still waiting for that phone call. Four days ago I contacted another local broker. I just finished signing a new insurance deal with them and my client already has the COI. Still nothing from Heaton Bennett. Maybe this review will finally get me a response. Too late! P.S. the new insurance broker found me a MUCH better deal on an apples to apples policy, so now I also know I paid too much for what would become terrible service. read more

So helpful! Matt was INSANELY helpful during the process of choosing a policy for my business. I told him a quote I had from another company, which was actually much cheaper, and he took a look at it and explained in GREAT detail WHY this one was cheaper than his. In the end, I went with the more expensive option, with HB, because the reasons explained made it completely justified. This is one of those weird things where you really never want to have to deal with them, because it usually means there is a problem (i.e.: insurance claim involved!) but if and when there is, I am happy to have them as my team! Matt was also insanely friendly when I went to the office to sign my paperwork- even invited me to join their tailgates, as I explained I was new to Austin and lived somewhat near the stadium. I cannot recommend Mike Bando enough! I'd been with Allstate for 7 years and they unexpectedly jumped rates. After talking to them and realizing they were unwilling to help me figure out a solution, I called Mike. He found several options that were more affordable than my previous policy. He walked me through all of the options of those policies and showed me where I was under insured. He gave me WAY better insurance than I had before at a WAY better rate. I contacted Mike Bando about a quote for my car insurance policy that was up for renewal. He explained how Heaton Bennett works and I decided to let him quote it out. I wasn't expecting much as I had already contacted all the major carriers, so I was floored when he returned a quote that was $840/year lower than I had been paying for the exact same coverages. I don't know how he was able to do it because I had contact this carrier myself and was given a much higher quote. Awesome customer service. I used Anderson Insurance Partners as my insurance agent for the last 4 years. We had to relocate to Houston and so now are looking for someone else since Houston is hurricane prone. :( But back to AIP, they were always happy to run quotes for different insurance companies and got me the best deal for the coverage I wanted. We had one auto claim and it was handled swiftly with a minimum of hassle (there is always a hassle when you have to drop your car off at a body shop, but everything was set up when we got there, the work was done ontime, the check was cut immediately, and I was pleased with the results). Even though my home and vehicles have been insured with different insurance companies over the years, I have always been extremely satisfied with Kelly & Kodi's work in terms of quick response, walking me through anything I didn't understand, ability to work efficiently over email or phone and trust that they knew what they were doing and would get me the best deal.
