I'm hooked. On a road trip from Texas we stopped here for lunch (twice because we really loved it) and I'm sad we don't have these back home. We both ordered the cheese runza and the fries with a side of ranch. Wow! The fries are very crispy and salty, just the way they should be and that ranch is amazing. Service was fast and friendly, food was extremely affordable, and the restaurant was clean and comfortable. read more

For the first time here it was decent. We stopped at this restaurant during our road trip because we wanted some burgers. The menu was somewhat scarce but for what it had to offer we did enjoy our burger and will have to stop by on our next road trip. read more

Lunchtime on the road. So we stopped in after getting gas nearby to eat. It's a confusion of masks or not in here. He ordered a double cheeseburger and fountain drink and I got a fish sandwich meal which came with a drink and either fries, onion rings or frings which is a combo of fries and onion rings. Hard decisions here. Went with frings because why not? To get a refill of the fountain drink you are supposed to ask for a new cup. The fish sandwich was so hot from the cooker. It burned my tongue a little as I didn't expect that since I ate the onion rings and fries and they were fine. His burger was not as hot temperature-wise. Ended up eating my fries and onion rings and taking the sandwich to go. It came with lettuce and a slice of American cheese. I think it had Mayo on it but since I burned my tongue I couldn't tell. You'll have to experience it yourself. He likes eating here and his burger was good. You can ask for different cheeses here I saw. Interesting concept. The bathrooms were clean and the service friendly. A good place for lunch on the road. read more

Different. Thank you Nebraska Runza for some different fare on our cross country excursion. This little sandwich was tasty, a little greasy but I assumed as much. The $1 mini shakes are worth a star for being an excellent portion and basic deliciousness. My wife's salad was underwhelming at best. However appreciate the late hours and the likable service. Nice folks there! We don't have this chain in the Southeast. Even if we did I don't know that I'd ever be a regular. read more

Have had many Runza's in my 30 years of driving from Colorado to Nebraska, and yesterday's experience well deserves a review. The sandwich was just as I remember and fries were hot and crispy. I miss the 'old' onion ring recipe (they just weren't as good?), but for something other than a burger, this is a great place to stop. Actually, if you want a burger you should stop here too. Their burgers are sort of phenomenal. Especially when compared to McD's or others. read more

I stayed overnight in North Platte twice in November, and both times I visited Runza. I'd been once before and didn't love it, but hit the sweet spot this trip with the Philly cheese steak Runza. It's pretty freaking good! The fries I tried on my first trip and the onion rings I tried on my second trip were just okay. I wound up throwing most of them away because I just wasn't enjoying them that much. The sandwich more than made up for it. I went through the drive through both trips and service was prompt and my food was fresh each time. If I lived in Nebraska the novelty of this fast food chain would probably wear off pretty quickly, but as a foreigner, I'm in love! read more

I must say I've been here several times and the food has always been good. BUT. Tonight I went through the drive thru and while I was waiting for my food I could see the employees preparing my food with no gloves on. Bare hands on my food. So disgusting!!! There's no excuse for that. More than one employee was handling food barehanded. read more

BOMB!! This is always one of my first stops when I come to North Platte to visit family. Good burgers--the meat is not frozen, and their fries and onion rings are amazing!! A good little regional fast food chain famous for their "Runza" sandwiches. I love the fries, very good and crinkle cut. Right now all sizes of drinks are $1.00. If you are going to do fast food take a break from the national chains and try Runza. I think you'll enjoy it. read more

Yummy!!!!! First time at Runza. We had ice cream shakes and they were delicious. I think the shake machine may have broke while we were ordering and the girls working there were so nice and hand mixed the shakes, instead of just saying, sorry the machine was broken. Absolutely horrible. I got what was supposed to be a mushroom Swiss runza. Tasted like bad tator tot hot dish with nasty overcooked cabbage. Onion rings were cold and their flavor was just as bad. Diet Pepsi was good. Won't be going back. Gave the one star for their customer service! read more

Runza likely has the best burger in the state of Nebraska. Whether eating here in Omaha, North Platte, Lincoln, G.I., or Kearney they are all good. In North Platte, Runza is bar none the best place to eat. Food and service are top notch for NP. La Casita was the best place to eat years ago before it closed. Now Runza has the top spot. read more
