There seems to be plenty of parking to handle the size of this restaurant. It is a very long train car with 14 booths, 5 tables and 7 barstools at the counter. There are also several picnic tables outside under some trees. Service was fast and friendly. I ordered a cup of Clam Chowder along with a Quarter Pound Burger and Tater Tots. The food was delicious and more than I could eat. I particularly liked the burger and how it was grilled.

When you crave classic diner menu items, and you want to enjoy them in a train car while receiving the best customer service in Brownwood, this is the place to visit. Meals are consistently prepared and presented perfectly, and the friendly staff makes sure you have a positive experience. Everything on the menu is delicious, so don't stress trying to make up your mind on what to order.

Last day in Brownwood, went out with an amazing meal and experience! Everyone was so friendly and helpful upon ordering and giving recommendations. Yes, the menu is small, but so worth the "old fashioned" cheeseburger. It had been years since having a burger that good. I'd go back tomorrow if I could! Was a great experience.

Great service. It's a fun atmosphere! We will be back!! When we were checking out, all 8 in our party were offered drink refills.

Wow, super impressed, lunchtime on a Thursday. These guys were super friendly very attentive. My cheeseburger and fries were delicious. Awesome atmosphere sitting in a train car. Feel good spending my hard earned money here. Thank you for a great experience, will definitely be back. Brownwood's best kept secret.

It was closed. Website needs updating if it was closed for the day or forever? Went out of the way to try it and was disappointed.

This is a popular place. I ordered the Filet which is 6 ounces along with a Baked Potato and Steamed Broccoli. The potato was pre-buttered plus there was a basket of butter patties on the table. The steak was delicious as was the baked potato. I cleaned my plate. The TV screen was across the room and the closed captioning was in a large font and easy to read from the other side of the room. So many times I've seen ESPN talking heads on a screen with no captioning and too small of a font making it hard to read. But this place was very accommodating.

I came here to watch a first round game of the newly expanded College Football Playoffs,…read morespecifically IU vs Notre Dame. They tried to accommodate me by offering to change any screen near my table. The problem was they were very crowded and table choices were limited. Plus since I was by myself, no one in my family enjoys sports, I didn't feel right taking up a four chair table and chose a two seater. This choice placed me about as far away from the screens as possible. The bar stools were full. I ordered the two wing entree deal with two sides for $20. I chose onion rings and tater tots for my sides. I don't drink alcohol and the only diet soda offered is diet Pepsi so I chose water. Ordering was a challenge. A server that didn't have my table took my initial order and told me he would communicate my preferences to my assigned server. The first six wing entree came out with just the onion rings and a different bbq sauce than what I ordered. I ate about half the order and asked for second six wing entree with the sauce I wanted. It came out with no side. The second side, tater tots, came out as I was halfway through the second entree. By this time I was almost full. The game was shown on a screen divided into three parts. Two different camera angles on the top half and stats taking up the bottom half of the screen. Only one screen showed the game in the traditional mode of watching a football ball game. The majority of screens were tuned into the state high school championship being played in the Cowboy's stadium. It didn't seem like that many people were watching this game. I ate my food, watched the first half of the game and left. Watching a football game with no sound and hearing people talking about whatever they were talking about with no one particularly into either of two football games on was a mediocre experience.

Commongrounds is the only coffee shop (that I know of) in Brownwood/Early besides Starbucks and unfortunately, the coffee here is not my favorite- I've tried their coffee 3 or 4 times and it wasn't for me. I feel like the coffee here tastes a little watered down and I don't get the roasted coffee bean flavor that I crave. As for the food here, it's a hit or miss. I tried their BLT sandwich but I would personally skip it. The bacon was too crunchy and hard (it reminded me of those bacon bits that you put on top of salads). If that's your thing, go for it but it was personally not for me. Something I thoroughly enjoyed from their food menu was their breakfast burritos. I've tried their green chile chicken w/avcado burrito as well as their brisket burritos and they were both delicious! And when you add their homemade red and/or green sauce, it's even better. That being said, I tried their 'bowl' version and it's just the filling of the burrito without the tortilla andI didn't think it was worth it. Overall, Comongrounds Coffee is a great spot to catch up with friends or get some work done (they have outlets towards the back as well as wifi). Not to mention, the workers there are friendly and helpful! If you visit, I highly recommend getting their breakfast burritos!
