This is definitely where peeps go to Hide away. 4/5 Beach Only reason I put 4 instead of 5 is there is no walkway along the sand as the neighboring beaches. We really enjoyed the beach. Parked and walked right onto the sand. 3.5/5 Bathroom If you have to go you have to go (Jurassic Park). Bathroom located right next to the parking lot. Older bathroom, could use a power wash or at least an air freshener. Shower right on the outside to wash off the sand. 5/5 Parking No paid parking by the beach, unheard of. If you can find a spot it's a hop skip and a jump from the sand. 5/5 Likelihood to Return Yes we've gone twice in the last month. This may be our new go to quick beach trip. I'm sure it's packed during the weekend but during the week its nice and calm. Psalm 5:2, God Bless and Stay Prayed Up

Weather was perfect... not too hot or cold. We weren't able to stay for too long as we had another event to attend to that day. We were able to stroll through the area and enjoy the scenic drive. Lots of small shops and restaurants on the main road. It didn't seem too crowded at the time, but then again, it was early morning. I'm sure as the day goes by, there would be more people. Parking was hard to find or perhaps I wasn't looking at the right place. I would love to return here one day to see the sunset from this beach. It is named Sunset Beach so I can imagine how beautiful the sunset would be. Can't wait to find out!

Love the little neighborhood surfer vibe with the low profile tropicals on tiny dunes, you can see for miles.

Our paid parking ticket was displayed on the dash, however officer chose to ignore it and gave us a ticket anyway. We tried to appeal the citation, it was denied! With that said, after numerous visits, shopping and eating on Main Street, we will not be returning to Seal Beach. We will not spend another dollar there. My money is now being spent in Anaheim, we decided to get premium annual passes to Disneyland! And in the future, should we decide to "go to the beach", there are dozens of other beaches to choose from here in California.

Yes, you must be careful where you park in Seal Beach, because they will give you tickets on the amount of time you spend parking. They want the city to keep moving, and not be cluttered with long parking and traffic. Its also a retired sort of Military town too. Lots of Vets live in Seal Beach, pretty much like Huntington Beach. They keep their beach clean too. volunteers come out to pic up trash during pic up trash events. It is still a young city with time to grow as the beach is passed on to generations after generations. But you do mostly have elders and Middle age people as the demographics that live here. Many young people that grow up in Seal Beach dream of moving next door to Huntington Beach. Huntington has a bigger younger crowd that live and hang out there. Young families as well. So, if you want the Veteren quiet, retired life, move to Seal Beach.

When I arrived, there were already people lined up along the edge, quietly focused on searching for a glowing line that moved like a worm. Parents had brought their children, making it an all ages event. The sight was captivating as the fireworms swarmed near the surface of the water for a few seconds before diving back in. It is said that these creatures rise from the seabed during specific moon phases to spawn at the surface, creating an unforgettable display.

The construction over by Orlena Ave is a big bummer, as it prevents us from completing the trail loop. We just walk from Appian Way up the lagoon crossway, north on the path until we hit 6th St., then turn around. From there, one could take a left on 6th St., then a right on Federation Drive to extend the walk, but it's still not a loop. Regardless, it is a nice area and the view of the water along the path is a peaceful sight. The sandy beach of the lagoon has always been populated with lively children and teens in the water when we've gone, so that spot in particular is not so peaceful. Also, if you're taking your dog, we've seen a man twice with three huge, off-leash dogs on the corner of 6th St. and Monrovia Ave that take over that whole grassy area, so beware of that. Otherwise, there's sometimes a group doing yoga there.

Warmer water, no waves, a perfect place to learn how to use most any type of SUP, and it's just a welcoming atmosphere overall. Today the water was nice and clean, but because it is in the bay the water quality can change depending as it's not flowing like a regular beach. The sand is also kinda different and sticky here, I'm sure it's brought in from around the corner, but it just seems kinda different here. Also, it's LB so be prepared to fight for your life for parking depending on the day and time. In all though it's a nice hidden gem. :)

The water is very calm, it's clean, and my kids love that there is a playground. There was a vendor walking around to sell floaties and we ended up getting a raft and the sticks for the raft for our kids. We did try to negotiate on the price but were only able to save a few bucks. I saw lifeguards walking back and forth often and it definitely made me feel safer to have the kids there. If you have young kids, I definitely say this is a great little beach to take your kiddos. Plenty of trash cans around and my kids gotta play with other kids. They didn't have to run super far with their bucket of water to make a sandcastle. Needless to say, we really liked this beach and definitely plan to come back. 2 thumbs up from this mom. Tips: *Parking lot available but you have to pay. *Free street parking. *Restroom available. *Lifeguard on site. * Vendors are always walking around (food, floaties). *There is a little playground with swings.
