Rumours is a very good spot. I wouldn't seek it out per se, but the few times I have been there I have liked the food. The service is good, though it's usually just one server covering the bar and tables -- which is crazy for the location. But, it's most certainly a very chill spot. The portion sizes were not very big and the both sodas were very flat. The service was incredibly slow and they were not very busy. I found it strange that they did not have any iced tea. such a fun spot with a lively and welcoming feel. i came by here with a group of around 10 friends, and it was honestly such a great vibe. the food was a perfect pairing with the atmosphere and all of it tasted great. there was ample seating available, and the service was wonderful. everyone was really nice. there are bathrooms available inside. i would definitely recommend checking out rumours. read more

Such an odd name for a traditional Irish pub in NYC which is exactly what Rumours is. They pour a great Guinness and offer a variety of your favorite, mostly fried, pub food. The staff is super friendly and accommodating and the drinks are stiff. The prices are reasonable for the area and New York City in general. It's a good stop if you want to kick back and rest your legs after a long day, watch your favorite sports team on one of the many televisions, and not break the bank. read more

I went here late Sunday evening, w/ my friend and split an order of chicken wings! We sat at the bar it had plenty of seating around 7:30 pm . The wings were totally not cooked all the way . And tasted like it was recooked again ! No flavor at all ... and not really fried in da sauce. Irish food! I've never had Irish food before, so I ordered the Bangers and Mash. I don't have anything to compare it to, so as a first timer, it was delicious! The gravy was not too think, the sausages were snappy, and the mash potato was soft and pillowy! It is a seemingly simple dish that came together very well. The service was normal. You seat yourself as it is a bar / pub. The waiter was pretty attentive to us, asking to fill our waters when it was out. The food came out in 15-20 mins. It was lively and loud because it is a bar. OMG!!! What a night! I went to Rumors with two friends for "Galentine's night" on Friday!! It was amazing! There was a DJ on and the bartender John gave us a notepad to write down requests and the DJ duly obliged! We shared a Rumors Sampler and a Philly Cheese Sandwich which hit the spot. Everything was fantastic, probably should have ordered a basket of fries too, but it was great!! As we wrapped up the night, we got three 'Rumors Love Potions!' I am new to the neighborhood and have been looking for a few new go-to bar spots. My first impression of Rumors is average. I came on a Monday at 6pm. The bartender was quick to greet me. I asked if there were any drink specials but was told no, which is disappointing. I decided to stay safe with a draught Guinness. It was poured correctly and tasted fresh. Atmosphere was decent. More or less what you'd expect for a Monday evening. I'd consider coming back and trying some other drinks and maybe the food. Overall, average NYC pub, although nothing really uniquely Irish about this spot. read more

We popped into this family run Irish Pub on 8th Avenue in the Hell's Kitchen and Central Park area of NYC for an evening night cap and it was great. Again, supporting local family run businesses is my motto and I'm sticking it it!! The prices are by far cheaper than the bigger more renowned bars & restaurants. Always a good reason to support, right?! We didn't have any food here, we just relaxed at the bar, talked to the bar man who was Irish and enjoyed the quiet slower pace away from the outside hustle and bustle. Just stopped in for a beer on the way to somewhere, and it was fine. Very midtown NYC bar, and if you're looking to just grab a beer out of the way, this is a solid choice. Nothing to sort of write home about and there were a lot of tourists there, but that's the area not the bar. Prices were solid. Pretty disappointing treatment on a slow Monday night. Claimed they didn't take debit cards after running two of mine and making me give my pin. That's after pretending I didn't exist as long as possible. Asked me where I'm from when I gave a debit card?! Decent food that is reasonably priced but horrible service. I went here for dinner with a friend on Saturday night, November 12, 2022. When we sat down at the table, someone came over relatively quickly to take our drink order and hand us menus. That's where the service ended. Nobody came over to take our food order. After about 25 minutes we had to flag one of the waitresses over and she took our order. When the food was delivered, that was the last time we saw any member of the wait staff. Nobody stopped by again to check on us and ask if we needed anything. We actually needed water and drinks but nobody came over. It was if we were invisible. So we finish our dinner (totally dehydrated at this point) and are waiting for the check to arrive. And waiting. And waiting. And waiting. I finally had to walk over to the bar and ask one of the bartenders to give me the check so I can pay. They tell me to go back to my table and they'll bring it over which they did. My friend and I actually discussed if we should even leave a tip because the service was so horrible and non-existent, but we didn't want to cause a scene, so we left a 15% tip (we usually leave 20% on average) and left. They really didn't deserve a dime. Needless to say, we will never go back. read more

Nice spot near Central Park with a decently sized location. Unlike other bars I've been to in NYC , it didn't feel claustrophobic. It had a nice little crowd going Sunday around 4pm and still had a lot of seating. Sadly, there isn't any happy hour on Sundays so we ordered 3 well drinks for $8 each. They were decent drinks. Took my two nephews here on a Saturday afternoon to get a quick bite before heading to Spyscape which is right across the street. Decor was pretty good and the place was quite crowded even though we were. Bit past the lunchtime rush. Mix of people having drinks at the bar and those eating at the tables. I was not hungry so I just had a Guinness. It was good. The 7 year old went for the penne alla vodka of which I had a bite. Bland. The ten year old had pasta with shrimp and white wine garlic sauce. I didn't sample his dish. Kids didn't complain or say much either way. Service was zero stars. Never cleared our dishes and after 45 minutes of waiting with two bored kids I went up to the bar and asked for the check. I'd come back but for drinks only and not the food. read more

They do beer well. My glass had some serious lacing which is the best indication of a clean glass. The Brooklyn Lager I had 2 (maybe 4) glasses of was poured from clean taps. Food: ordered hot wings.
