While searching the Internet for a map to give a friend who needed a dentist I came across these reviews and to be honest, I was more than surprised to read what was in a review. As a child I had a dentist in Rhode Island who did not do my family well when it came to the care of our teeth. My parents switched us to this practice in Milford as a young teenager. The entire team consisting of the front of the house staff and the professional dentists took great care to correct the issues.
I am now in my early 40's. With the exception of a few years in Florida for college, Dr. Rumas and staff have worked as a team to make my dental care go as smooth as possible. Let's face it, no one enjoys the dentist but everyone appreciates clean and properly functioning teeth!
Dr. Rumas has never spoken out of line in front of me, my wife, or three children, all of whom I am now trusting to her care. My 8 year old recently had to have two teeth extracted to make way for braces. Dr. Rumas spend much time (I am sure more than the average dentist) to explain -at a child's level of understanding- every aspect of the pending procedure to my daughter as a way to alleviate her fears. Couple this with her state-of-the-art facility, my daughter's experience was excellent.
The fillings I received over 20+ years ago to correct the RI dentist's mistakes are still in place...solid. It was interesting that while at college, in Florida, I had to visit a dentist near the campus to get a chipped tooth looked at. The first words from this older dentist's mouth was, "Who did this work? It is flawless!" The end of the conversation closed with the dentist telling me to keep my current dental providers as long as possible if this is the type of work (he called it art) they do. 21 years later- I still remember that conversation.
While a few hygienists and office workers have since left or retired, many of the staff have serviced Dr. Rumas' practice for years. I am taken back at the negative remarks left in previous reviews. These women have been caring and helpful from my early years to present. Need an appointment, or have one that needs to be switched?..Never a problem.
Need to get a specific time, they will do their best - professionally and with a smile. Sorry to some prior posters who expect a open slot to always be waiting JUST for them at the drop of a hat. That is the way it is with medical offices...schedules do fill up. The office assistants, as well as everyone there, great you by name, put a smile on your face, and treat you as family. They will do their best to get you a convenient time on the quickest possible day. They will also help answer insurance questions with assuring knowledge.
A previous poster made a comment of Dr. Rumas being rude. I was not there of course, but can honestly say my parents from years before, my sisters' families, and now my family, have NEVER left that office questioning the treatment we were given as patients. At the same time, do not fear you will be pressured into and sold goods you do not need. Dr. Rumas and team will honestly tell you what the problem is and what should be done to correct the issue. Dr. Rumas will not sugar coat the condition but will in layman's terms explain what has happened. She will explain more than once, if needed. When you leave that office you will have a solid understanding of the next steps you need to take.
I could go on and on. For those who rely solely on what you read in a review, take a chance and visit the Drs, hygienists, assistants, and customer service staff at 222 Main Street Dental. You will find a beautiful and modern facility which utilizes state-of-the-art dental equipment as well as a staff that welcomes you and makes you feel like family. You will also find Dr. Terry Rumas, a true professional medical provider who has earned the trust of many a family, including mine. read more
