Referred by an extremely reliable source, I made my first appointment with Dr.Buxton's practice just over one year ago. Every interaction since has been smooth sailing (I actually look FORWARD to my visits!). *Kind front desk attendant/scheduler - always remembers my name and does her darnedest to find the right appointment for my finicky schedule. *Friendly and comfort-conscious dental hygienists (I usually see Leah - she's thorough and takes the time to explain exactly what's going on in and around those gums!). *And, of course, the calming doctor, himself. At my last visit I mentioned some discomfort that I was having with a crown applied years ago by another dentist. It hurt to bite/chew and I was worried something might be wrong under the dome, so he took a peek to check where my bite was coming together. Low and behold, the tooth needed to be filed down a little on one side - he fit me in directly after my hygiene appointment. I've been pain-free ever since! I have even recommended his practice to people who are deathly afraid of dentists, and they all love him! Office staff is super friendly. Great with kids. And, they do their best to try to accommodate your schedule. He's even on call for your dental emergencies. I remember when I was pregnant with my second child, I broke my tooth in half, and was so worried about infection and such that I called him hysterically. Not only did he calm me down, but he was able to take care of it in no time at all without any complications. I honestly have to say, he is such a super nice guy too. Very friendly. And, calming... Which is key for those who get dentist anxiety... LOL! They don't accept a whole ton of dental plans. But, if yours is not accepted, and you have the ability to be reimbursed by your plan, they will even fill out all the paperwork and send it to your plan to help eliminate the hassle on your end. Just be forewarned though, you will have to pay the office and wait for reimbursement from your health plan. Oh...and they are closed on Mondays as well. I don't think they have weekend hours either... Not sure on that. I've never tried to schedule an appointment on the weekend. All I can say, is that even after moving to a new city, I am willing travel The extra distance to keep seeing this practice.

During that visit, Dr. Schenkman gave me the news no one wants to get: You have cancer. I don't have words to describe the caring and empathy shown by Dr. Schenkman and the entire staff that day, it was like I was the only patient there. They referred me to an ENT and followed up after to check and see how I was doing. Perhaps a year later I ran in to Dr. Schenkman at the Y where he was picking up his children. He asked about my case and we had a nice conversation. I will never ever forget the wonderful treatment I received from Dr. Schenkman & his staff that day

Today she is 3.5 and it was the first time they had to scrape for tartar. She was obviously scared but Dr Christa showed her on her nails that it doesn't hurt, they're did the same with the fluoride. My little emotional girl didn't cry at all. They have a play kitchen in the waiting room so I go 10 mins early so she can play. They also let you pick a little toy out of a vending machine at the end.

Dr. McGough and her assistant could not have been more upbeat and pleasant. When it was determined that I needed a root canal, they happily stayed late until they finished me at 6:45 PM. I can't say enough good things about this practice. I have had other root canals done here with various other doctors and they all have the same work ethic and amazing patient care. This office is rare in today's fast paced busy world, where many offices would have told me to make an appointment another day. If I could give them 10 stars I would!
