My favorite dentists!! And who can really say that about their dentist?…read more My teeth are very sensitive and Dr. Harelick is always so patient and careful during my appointments. I had several cavities and root canals and thanks to them, they're all fixed now and I no longer have any pain. With their encouragement, I have also started to floss regularly (something I never did before) and my teeth really do feel much cleaner. I also love getting a toothbrush and toothpaste goodie bag every time I go in for a cleaning :) The staff is also very friendly and professional. I've even been late a few times, but they were still able to fit me in. The office itself is clean and conveniently located in the center of town with a private parking lot. Thank you to the best dental team!!

I was with this practice for quite some time and eventually got my spouse to go with them too…read more But, at some point, I began to notice a kind of "upselling" and "switcharoo" tactics that made me begin questioning things. For me, it started during an extraction when during the procedure they began to pitch me on different options that were never discussed prior. Not knowing anything, I blindly agreed to one option which cost me $1200 out of pocket. I blame myself for not stopping right there and getting the details, but when you're already anxious and in the middle of a procedure, there's little time to think and respond thoughtfully. Both my spouse and I got the whole "night guard" pitch which was, again, during our procedures. It's not prudent, to me, to be stuck in a chair with people's faces staring down at you being pitched an upsell! Now, it may be coincidence, but when I arrived for one visit I noticed a beautiful, expensive Porsche in front. While sitting in the chair, Dr. H was talking about a new boat. It was uncomfortable, especially knowing how much I was paying even with good insurance. The last straw for both of us was when we went in on separate dates for routine cleanings. This was covered by insurance and should have been in and out business. However, we were BOTH denied our cleanings and told we needed new X rays, which we did - because they told us we needed them. Once they did the x rays, they told us that they could not do the cleanings because we each needed deep scaling. Again, we were denied basic cleanings and told we "needed" deep scaling. That meant 4 separate appointments, one for each quadrant. The cost? $350 out of pocket PER SESSION. This was after the insurance cut. Both my spouse and I had the exact same pitch that we needed deep scaling despite going at different times. Later, I spoke to others who had the same experiences. Well, we went to another practice down the road. They asked us to get our x rays from Dr. H who told us it would be $70 each. I was flummoxed. Our new practice said that was ridiculous and got the x rays themselves from Dr. H without any fee - practice to practice. The new practice examined both my spouse and I and said that deep scaling was unnecessary and our teeth were in actually in great shape. We are very happy and have never once been upsold on alternative options for procedures, night guards, or deep scaling. It was clear that they would have made a lot more from that deep scaling than the basic routine cleaning and that is the reason for this review: $$$$ I gave two stars because the staff they have are very friendly and the doctors, themselves, are a lovely couple. They care about their customers and I respect that. However, they are also a business looking to make money in ways that I don't particular find comfortable. I hope things have changed there, but if you go, be smart about what you need and how much things cost. Get quotes before you have any work done!!

Terrible experience. I had been a patient of Holliston Family Dental for numerous years and during…read moremy most recent cleaning, a new hygienist did not allow me to close my mouth throughout the entire 35 minute cleaning (she would suction out the plaque after scrapping instead of letting me rinse my mouth). This caused the right side of my jaw to pop and immediately become tight and sore. Before getting out from the chair, I let the hygienist know that something did not feel right on the right side of my jaw and she told me that "some people have popping in their jaw all the time, you're fine". I had never had popping or tightness in my jaw until this point. I informed the front desk about this issue and they told me to ice my jaw and to eat soft foods. After 2 weeks of the pain/tightness/popping not improving, I called Holliston Family Dental and they were extremely rude and told me to come back into the office, only to tell me to take Advil. After a month of still no improvement, Holliston Family Dental told me there is nothing that they can do and to go to an oral surgeon for further assistance. They were again, extremely rude and very unwilling to help which made me have to jump through hoops trying to find an available oral surgeon to help me with my pain, tightness, popping, and TMJ in my jaw. I went to an oral surgeon who determined that my right anterior disc in my jaw seems to be dislocated which they said would have been due to the cleaning since I had no issues prior. They referred me to a physical therapist that I then began seeing numerous times a week to help with this issue. This made me take time away from work in order to attend PT. Because physical therapy is considered a "speciality", my insurance does not fully cover the cost of PT. I recently received a bill of $2,000 which I had reached out to Holliston Family Dental to pay since this issue was caused at their dental practice. They informed me that they are not paying for this since they had not heard that there was still an issue in the last couple of months, even though they told me to go to a oral surgeon, who told me to go to PT, since there was nothing that Holliston Family Dental could do on their end. I had been a patient at Holliston Family Dental for years and am extremely disappointed about how they have treated me during this situation. I am still having pain, popping, tightness, and TMJ in my jaw that I will now need to pay out of pocket even though I did not cause this issue. I will not be returning to Holliston Family Dental and highly recommend going elsewhere for your dental needs.
