It feels like this company only cares about the money and could care less about their clients. Everything is very pricey and the experience while you are there feels rushed when this is an industry that that should be exactly the opposite and that you are paying a lot of money for. It feels like they tried to cram as many people in to their schedule as possible and you are just another dollar sign not a person. Education on what to expect with the lip injections was incredibly poor including what medications are safe to take and not to take, what to expect during and after, and care after to minimize swelling and bruising. I was swollen for multiple days and had to take work off because the swelling was so bad which was never explained to me prior to treatment. I was on accurate and did not know that it was contraindicated to get injections while on this medication until notified by my dermatologist shortly prior to my appointment and when canceling they charged me half the price of the injections when I made the appointment only a day in advance. Again seemed like they cared more about getting their money than my actual health or damage that could be done while on this medication. I'm not the only person who has said this after their experience at RUMA. Lastly, it felt like like they could care less if their clients have COVID symptoms, been exposed to COVID or have been ill with anything really. CDC guidelines are not followed which was so frustrating as a frontline worker myself working with patients who are dying from this virus. Again, it feels like they are just are all about the money with no regards to the best interest of their clients especially during a pandemic when every other business is taking extreme precautions. read more

I got lip filler yesterday from Traci and I couldn't have asked for a more professional and enjoyable experience. I felt very safe and comfortable as I got worked on. I decided to get the dental block so I would be completely numb. I was a little nervous at first about the pain but I had no discomfort or pain at all. I couldn't feel a thing. It also was comforting the way Traci and her assistant were pleased with the work while they were still doing it. It was comforting that they felt like everything was going smoothly. My lips were constantly being cleaned so I wouldn't get an infection by the needles so I really appreciated that. Traci took what I asked her to do and went above and beyond. Ugh. I really wanted to love this place but my two experiences were both so awful I highly recommend anyone that is considering going to this MedSpa to take your business elsewhere. After a poor first experience, I Had a credit here as a gift from my mom, and had decided to give it another chance. This time I booked with Tracy, for 1 PM and had called ahead asking if it was possible if my dad could have a consult about Kybella during The appointment, since it was just crows feet for Botox and takes less than 5 minutes. The lady on the phone said that Tracy had an appointment right after me at 130, but she could discuss it during my appointment. None of these things happened. I waited for nearly 25 minutes with the poor sweet MA reassuring me it would be soon, but how would Tracy possibly have a 130 appt if she didn't see me till 125? Furthermore, I literally saw her just standing around chatting, until she came in at 125, super annoyed that I had said I had to get going (I can't hang out all day- unfortunately), literally did not look at my face, simply said same dosage as last time, continued to comment on how I clearly was "busy and had somewhere to go" with no apology for the wait. After this atrocious super uncomftorable experience, I had told the Ma that I had a credit (I had included it on my appointment notes when I made my appointment and had spoken to Penny and the other receptionist when I called to confirm the credit)- and when she asked penny who was sitting for help, she glared at me, could not have been bothered and mumbled "I don't remember that" without even looking at me. We had driven over an hour down to see her and my father was also ready to book a Kybella appointment. We are out of town clients with our injectors in NYC- but wanted to find a new MedSpa to frequent here in Utah. Ruma is definitely NOT IT. My hairstylist in SLC had the exact same experience at Ruma with Tracy, saying she was super unprofessional, late, and barley gave her any attention. She ended up sticking to beauty lab + laser because of the warm feeling and better service! I did not want to be deterred because I figure everyone has their own experience, but wish I had listened The service was absolutely atrocious and made us extremely uncomfortable and upset- due to Tracy and Penny's rude and unprofessional behavior. The only saving grace was the Ma- who's name I wish I remembered. I truly wish that I had not gone to Ruma and just paid full price at somewhere like Spa Trouve or Aesthetica. Please take your money elsewhere!! There are plenty of options that don't have you being subjected to the rude attitudes, dismissive behavior, and downright unprofessional conduct. Side note- they claimed to be totally booked- there was not another client in there. read more

Traci @traciandreason_np is AMAZING, she's thorough, she listens to what you would like and then gives her expert opinion, I definitely give her 5 stars. Do your research, anyone can call themselves the best of the best! You can have a beautiful clinic but if the clinical manager & owner aren't welcoming, it defeats the purpose. A lot of staff turnover is not a good look for your business. read more

When I moved to Utah I went to all the medical spas to test them out. Ruma was pricier than the others and I assumed it was because Shelby is good at marketing. But I still wanted to see what the buzz was about. Cutting to the chase, the reason Ruma drives a higher ticket price is Shelby is a genius (and I went to the University of Chicago and have had billionaire (with a b) entrepreneurs as clients across a host of disciplines including science & tech - so I'm careful when I choose to use that word). I would feel completely confident having injections from her or anyone who is trained by her - and my husband and I are 41/44 (the age where things get trickier). I look amazing now and was a bit of a wreck having just had a baby at 40 (my skin was loose and things weren't where they should be, I was starting to look witchy). My husband looks amazing now and he's 44. Well worth the $. Is Shelby pricier than other places? Yes. But if cost is an issue I would still go to Ruma, just go less often. With regard to some of the less glowing reviews on Yelp: starting a business is hard. You can be a genius at what you do, but how do you successfully manage everyone's schedules, your front desk staff, and make sure every client is perfectly cared for? It takes trial & error, and Ruma is still very new. You have to be patient. My first appointment had a hiccup with scheduling, but when people look at me they ask what in God's name I'm doing. So... some relationships are worth being patient for, and Ruma is one of them. The one thing I'll say about it is this: when I stated my first business at 28 I got excoriated for not nailing customer experience. But I was the product: people wanted what I could give them, and I had it to give, and was the best at it. I wasn't perfect at scaling yet. Same here with Shelby. She's done an amazing job - her staff is clearly on top of it and happy - but if there's a mistake, honestly who cares? Give it time. The clients who tore me apart by-and-large came back later and wanted to work with me so... look at the bigger picture. Stick with SpaceX they'll get the bugs out. read more

I've been hesitant about getting fillers and Botox, as it's been difficult to find a provider who not only knew what they were doing but gave you results that make you feel like you're still yourself but with a "glow up". I went into my appointment with a specific area I wanted treated and Shelby gave me a full and very detailed assessment. She actually steered me into opting for another area to be treated that not only was much cheaper, but gave me my desired results. I absolutely love the results and it's not an understatement to say that Shelby is a magician at what she does....honestly it's literal magic. You know where you're having a really good hair and makeup day and you're just feeling yourself? She can make you feel that way everyday.
