I spent roughly 90 minutes at this office and received about 2-5 minutes of hands-on chiropractic care. Before Dr. Baird had any real understanding of my injury, he was already going over my follow-up visit. He explained he was going to do some vague prodding around my head that could cause unknown reactions anywhere in my body, but that it would definitely be connected to my healing. When I pressed him on that -- the logic didn't feel consistent to me -- he moved past the question with more vague phrasing about how pain can mean you're healing. He then spent a few minutes working my back -- which I could feel helping -- but stopped quickly and moved me to another room for electric stimulation therapy. During the head prodding, when I honestly said nothing stood out as especially sensitive, he eventually commented something like "maybe it really is just your muscle." Combined with how briefly he worked the area that seemed to help, it left me feeling he had a sense of what would actually benefit me but chose a different course. I went home no better than I arrived. After some research, a back roller and massage gun used about 15 minutes twice a day resolved most of my pain within a few days. I'll also note that explicitly Christian music played throughout the visit and spiritual causes for my pain were raised multiple times. For a first visit with a new provider, that felt out of place. The staff were genuinely kind, which I want to acknowledge. My concern is with the care itself and how quickly return visits were prioritized over diagnosing the issue.

After a $230 frame credit from insurance the total out of pocket cost was going to be $510.00 for progressive lenses. They went back and said they could go down a level from their premium level, which would be equivalent to what Costco has and my out-of-pocket cost would be $400 after my $230 frame credit. https://www.ou.org/life/relationships/marriage/how-therapist-destroyed-marriage-shlomo-slatkin/…read more The article above explains why we were never served well by using our couples therapist Isaac Vasquez, LMFT for individual therapy too. My husband told me he met with a lawyer for divorce last night. I have texts from Isaac today that show we've only had 4-5 sessions as a couple in the last year. The last one was over 6 months ago, and I've been asking for a couples session since Nov with no appointment priority to a couples session. I've been questioning using the same therapist from the beginning, because when I had just 2 individual therapy sessions with him he would validate me while telling me he needed to figure out why my husband couldn't do any of the tools provided. He even said he believed he could have autistic tendencies that might prevent him from ever being a support to me, which I never believed. But now I question his influence on my husband whose been seeing him for 6 months, not just 2 sessions. I didn't see the writing soon enough on the wall that Isaac could've been doing the exact thing with my husband, minimizing me and my capabilities, and this would destroy any success in our relationship. I started to bring this up to my husband last month, because Isaac is also seeing my son, I got very concerned at where therapy has been going for the both of them when my son renounced all relationship with me. I, on the other hand began seeing a different therapist, and specifically asked him to only work on me, so that I could be able to be strong in my heart only, without intimidation which I was using to protect my heart in our marital struggles. Great changes have been happening for me and my heart. My husband's recent text to me less than 2 weeks ago said, "Your heart shines through. I can feel it." My daughter has been saying the same. In Isaac's texts this morning, he said that it's because I'm better that he and my son are unable to cope. He called it an aversive reaction. There are so many things that make no sense. The biggest is that we were supposed to just work on ourselves only, then return to couples therapy to see if the changes would be enough to save the marriage. My husband will tell me how Isaac validates and agrees that I'm not a part of his healing. How is that working only on him, if he's talking about me/us? To make such a drastic decision with only 4-5 sessions together, after 20+ years of dysfunction seems unreasonable to me. And it's this reason that I'm still going to fight for my husband and family. If anything, shouldn't we have a therapist, at this point in the game, evaluate the success or inability to succeed now. It's possible it's too late, but I'm hoping, that my husband will realize we deserve to give us and our sweet little family our all.
