We went to Broncos before a concert and gave ourselves plenty of time. We told the waitress we were going to a concert at 8:00. We waited an hour and 20 minutes for our food to arrive. It was cold and my salad entre never arrived until everyone else was finished eating. At this point it was 7:15 and I didn't have time to eat. I had to leave hungry. My wife and I ate here recently. When we walked in I was impressed with the fact that they had large pots near the window with fresh basil and oregano growing in them. I thought that was a sign of great things to come. And maybe it is if you order something different than what we ordered but what we got was terrible. We both went simple and ordered spaghetti with marinara but we both found the sauce to be very bitter to the point of it tasting like medicine. I was able to eat mine only after adding lemon juice and LOTS of parmesan but my wife couldn't eat hers because of how bad it was. I wished I had read reviews before stopping here. Took over 20 minutes for the server to come over and the I ordered a salad, breadsticks, and boneless wings. With two meatballs... for 7.99 plus an additional 2.00 for the meatballs you would expect a little bit bigger serving then a soup bowl of spaghetti. My father lasagna had decent flavor, my goodfellas pasta was drowning in sauce and had the smallest bit of chicken that it was more of a hint than a taste. My son's pizza came out first before the rest of the food. Decent size for a kids personal cheese pizza. My son was enjoying it like any child would being 16 months old just learning to eat with his hands and not wear it. We were not having any major issues until our server Marilyn Z thought it was important to tell me that my son had been putting the pizza on the floor instead of eating it and to not give him anymore.... I have worked in the food industry for over 13 years both as a server, host and manager. In all my years I would never had said anything as rude as telling the parent of a child as young as my son that to not give him anymore of his meal. To be honest I was prepared to go on my knees to clean up after my son before our server thought it was appropriate to make a comment. I would like to know why this restaurant is still listed as Rullis? We were just there and it is now "Bronko's"! Online it's listed as Rulli's. Maybe because Bronko's sucks!? We went there to have pizza at Rulli's and found it was now Bronko's. So we gave it a try - bad decision. Bad service, rude, bad food, loud drinkers at the bar. Acceptable, but just that. While the menu was expansive, I found the food unexceptional. The salad bar appears to be what people gravitate towards but there wasn't anything special about it. Salad, fruit, pre-made generic pastas & pasta salads, wings, and basic pizza. No different than any other buffet bar. Less choices since it was an Italian buffet bar. The Italian bread bowl was huge. He opted for the mostaccioli with red sauce and added sausage. He enjoyed the portion, sausage, and thick melted mozzarella. He found the sauce a bit boring. Even so, it lacked sauce towards the bottom of the bowl. Dry noodles. He couldn't finish it. Whether he couldn't because it was plain or it was a giant portion, he didn't care to elaborate. From my perspective, it looked like a bit of both. I ordered the 12" Papa's Spicy Pizza. Had plenty left-over. I can't say I was a fan of the spicy red sauce. I expected a spicy marinara but discovered it was literally hot sauce, like Franks Red Hot or Tabasco. I like hot sauce, but it didn't belong on the pizza. Maybe as a topping drizzle rather than the entire pizza sauce. Overpowered the other flavors. Seemed odd. I enjoyed the giardinera & cheese, but they got lost. Ironically though, even as a whole, I didn't find it spicy. Didn't live up to its name. The servers were friendly, but leisurely. We really tried to gauge what the best choices were because there were sooooo many many options. Our server really either thought everything they sold was good or truly thought the best value was the salad bar, because the only feedback we received was that. "You can't go wrong. Well they got the subs wrong only thing that was on them was meat and cheese they were supposed to be deluxe, fries were very soggy need to be cooked longer didn't taste very well. Been to Rulli's several times, food is always delicious. Went this past Thursday for dinner and Karaoke. DJ Joe does a fantastic job, and music sounds great. Pulled up and saw the full parking lot thinking that we would have a wait time. However we were greeted warmly and seated immediately. The dining areas are spacious with plenty of seating with a comfortable atmospheres. We had excellent attentive service from our waitress. Portions are plenteous with reasonable prices. They are noted for the best pizza in Elkhart county and certainly live up to that reputation. Our Supreme Pizza was excellent. One could tell it was built with care and baked to perfection. It is ultimately up to you to decide whether to give Rulli's a try or not; it also depends on your level of travel, your preferences in Italian food, and your past experiences at other Italian dining establishments. That being said, in my opinion it is not worth your valuable time to visit Rulli's in Middlebury. Listen to Doug M, Robin M, Andrea T, and Brian H. I had an experience that encompasses elements from all of their experiences, where my family and I were initially excited to order a Greek salad only to be disappointed with iceberg lettuce and a few pieces of vegetables. We sent it back and told our server we were disappointed. We ordered lasagna and it was missing the ricotta. The lasagna noodles were mushy, and overall the filling resembled dog food. We sent it back. Our pizza was missing two toppings. Despite this, we decided to keep the pizza because it genuinely was the best and we felt safe eating it. I remember our server mentioning we would be "discounted" for the other two dishes we sent back. In all of my experiences and travels this has never been a normal response to uneaten food. I would understand if it is a case of those uncouth customers (servers know who I'm talking about) who eat an entire dish and decide at the very last minute to place a complaint in order to get free food, but this was not our case. We were very honest up front. Poor salad, poor lasagna, good pizza. Cut and dry. In no way was the server at fault. She was very sweet, and was probably instructed by management to discount food not up to par. I had to speak up though and just ask if the server could remove the bad dishes completely from the bill, since they were not eaten, and she was able to make it happen, thankfully. Never did any management come out to our table to apologize or try to salvage what we felt was an extremely awkward and sad encounter with this family-owned restaurant. This tells me that management does not really care to interact with customers, and they are forcing servers to handle all the dirty work. This is not fair to the servers either, because their tips are at stake. I feel like Gordon Ramsay should pay a visit here. There is obviously a loss of passion at this establishment, and I wish Rulli's all the best with getting back the spark it probably once had. My advice to the Rulli's family: get rid of dead weight and TAKE BACK YOUR RESTAURANT! read more
