Calling smoky mountain pet resort they were so friendly and informative. We ran into some issues coming down with the weather and the bad drivers. Calling the facility they were very understanding and helped us out. The outside of the facility was deceiving since it looked like a warehouse. inside was super clean and welcoming. This is a family owned and run operation. There are several generations running this kennel. Their love of dogs is very clear. I left my sheltie Jake at Critter Cottage last weekend while I was at a ladies retreat. I was…read morenervous about boarding him because he is 11 years old and this would be the first time. After talking to them on the phone a few weeks ago, I thought this would be the perfect place for his first boarding experience. I was not wrong. After dropping Jake off and visiting with the ladies for about 30 minutes, I felt completely comfortable leaving Jake there. I missed him while I was gone, but I didn't worry about him at all. He seemed as happy as a lark when I picked him up and has not "repaid" me for leaving him like I thought he might. I highly recommend Critter Cottage and plan to use them again in the future. It's nice to have somewhere to take him when I want a weekend away. Now I can go to hotels, etc. that are not pet-friendly.
