Greeted nicley, but there employee told us that we could not go back and see the kennels. We dropped off 2 dogs for a week stay and was told not to come and pick up dogs during our stay because of to much stress on the dogs. Got the feeling that when we called to check on the dogs the person was just telling us what we wanted to hear. I was definitely not feeling comfortable so we went to pick up the dogs early. When we arrived both dogs were dirty and reeked with a horrible smell. So glad we picked them up early. There website shows only the picture of the front of the business and no pictures of kennels or running area, a liittle odd for a boarding kennel website. However, I wanted to highlight just speaking with these wonderful individuals over the phone has put all my doubts at easy for our future trip to the area. Made a quick stop in Pigeon Forge and wanted to spend one day site seeing with out our four legged children. We have a 110lb staffy mix puppy and an 8-year old boxer mix. They have NEVER been away from us, ever. So I was extremely concerned. But Erin was amazing, talked to us forever, put my mind at ease. Even told me to call to check.on them. Mind you they were only there for 5-hours. The needed the break from the truck and RV to be able to stretch their legs and I could not have asked for a better place. I took my 80 lb American Bulldog here while visiting the Smokies, because there's not a lot of places that welcome dogs. Sidenote - the trail from the Sugarland Visitor Center to Gatlinburg does allow dogs, and it's a great 1.7 (or so) trail. LCK is a great boarding place. Their website http://www.lovingcarekennels.net/ gives you insight into the enthusiasm that Lyda, the owner, has for dogs, and my experience backs that up. Lyda's also careful with the dogs. A big male German Shepherd greeted us and seemed very friendly (bringing us a ball to play with), but Lyda put him up, because, according to Lyda, he tends to display dominance. She had maybe 20 dogs on the property while I was there. She and at least some of her support staff live on the location, which appeared to be several fenced acres. As a previous reviewer noted, there are a couple of drawbacks. They're just about 1.5 miles off the Parkway, but a mile of that is a windy, single-lane country road. The driveway is gravel with steep grades and sharp curves. The loose dogs don't get out of the way of cars, which makes navigating the driveway even trickier. She just accepts cash or in-town checks. Overall, it was nice to feel that I was leaving my dog with a friendly family, not just a boarding facility. read more

We are here on Vacation from Pennsylvania for 2 weeks. After reading all the good reviews on the sight i was taking my puppy there. But after my arrival the lady that was there showed me the place only after i ask. As she was showing me the place i was talking to the other dogs cause i love animal n she yelled at me n told me DON'T talk to the dogs. and also the dogs were barking n she YELLED at the to SHUT UP . You just dot talk to other people pets like that . So i really didn't care for that I wasn't hurting anything n I wasn't going to have my puppy yelled at. And she had told me prior that there was AC n when i was in there she had to turn it on. She also told me that my puppy wasn't going to go in the pool like the other dogs cause she wasn't going to be able to catch him. So i was really Leary of leaving him there. He is only a 7 month old Shiba Inu he is still a puppy. There was no one else there to help her. Ok so then i had went out to get him n when i went out to get him she told me to wait she would be bk. I walked him over to the door n only seen her then cleaning a kennel for him. She was only cleaning it then whe i had already called her 2 hrs prior about bringing him. She was going to put him in a kennel that would hv been wet and I didn't know what stuff it was to gt all over ny puppies paws n worrying about him getting sick. So i put him bk in the car and came bk to the cabin we were staying in. I DID NOT leave him there. Just to let u know that i had my puppy at The Barker Lounge in Servierville TN a few day before it was the direction we were doing that day. So today i was going to Chereekee NC the other direction that's why i was going to try the Loving Care Kennel but after everything I didn't let him stay. I really do recommend The Barker Lounge they will the very good care of ur pets. I will be taking my puppy back there from now on. We left our 13 year old Shepherd, Maggie for three days. She had never been in a kennel before but she seemed to be happy when we picked her up. We thought she'd act depressed at the least. She was happy to see us, but wasn't at all anxious to get out of there. Since she doesn't talk we can't ask her how things went but Lida's granddaughter was there when we got her & she said they were always glad when the dogs acted like they weren't unhappy being there & that Maggie seemed to enjoy being there. We feel that she got good care & that they gave her the extra attention that she's used to. Took our 130 pound Great Dane there last weekend so we can enjoy the Smoky Mountains. When we went to pick her up she was whining and crying and JUMPING on me (something she has NEVER done). I'm not sure if she missed us that much or she just didn't have a good time. She was clean and she ate most of her food and everything so I can't imagine anything went wrong. The staff was very friendly! Lyda is really sweet and you can tell she loves animals. The location is kind of out of the way and you have to drive on gravel up and down the hills, which can be scary with a 2.0 liter VW Cabrio. Lot's of slipping around. Also she only accepts cash and local checks. No cards so make sure you have cash on you. read more

We dropped our 6 month old puppy off here a few days on our trip. He loved it and was excited every time we dropped him off! The kennels allow the dogs to go outside if they like and the outdoor kennels are separated by dog size. They offer grooming for a VERY reasonable price. She also had us call a half hour before we came to pick him up on the last day, and then gave him his bath. Therefore he was still clean when coming back with us. Miss Lida is wonderful as is her granddaughter! They took wonderful care of our 3 dogs! When we called and asked questions, she told us they only took cash so we were prepared. She gave our 14 yr old the medicine she needed each day. Our dogs were happy to see us but they slept all of the way home! They were happy and well taken care of! We've boarded our dogs at other places and one of our dogs almost died so we were nervous. But Miss Lida put us at ease! We loved her and will use her again the next time we are in Pigeon Forge! read more

We were planning a trip to Pigeon Forge and had 3 dogs which are like children to me. I looked up kennels and found LCK. I talked to Lyda and she sounded so nice. She told me about the driveway and to get there before dark. We got in traffic and it was after dark so we met her granddaughter Jerica. She was super nice and took my 3 dogs with her. I wrote down their feeding instructions and everything seemed fine. I was worried because I had not seen the kennels but Jerica assured me all would be fine. I have a GPS tracker on my dog so I could check and see where he was and that he was where he was supposed to be. He was that night. I woke up early the next morning around 4 and checked his GPS. There was a lot of movement on it for 4am. It appeared he was all over the place around what should be the kennel. I was up and over there early. I tried to call to tell her we were coming but she didn't answer so it was a surprise visit. I don't think she was very happy when we showed up but got the dogs out for us. Then informed me the bed I had brought was too big and she was going to send it with us. Of course, I wasn't pleased with that but I had brought other blankets. We leashed the boys up and went outside and walked them around and went back in. She then let another dog out that was going home without a leash into the lobby where we were and then yanked the leash of my dog out of my hand and took my dog. She came back up and yanked the leash out of my husbands hands for the other 2 dogs he had. We left reluctantly and I called around to some other kennels and visited another kennel. We loved it, turned around got our boys from LKC and took them else where. When they got in the car, the passed out. They never do that in the car....they are ready to go. On top of it all, the kennel was filthy. My dogs have never boarded before so I was very picky but this place was more for boarding your outside dog that maybe comes in every now and then. Not for dogs you consider family. They also heat with kerosene heaters and I didn't like that at all. Anyway, go look at it before you take your dog there. Also, my dogs had not been fed that morning at all and one was a puppy that really needed to eat. There are better places in town, just look. One girls opinion but I didn't feel comfortable at all.
