Gas prices are cheaper than most other gas stations! Cash and credit are same price…read more The real reason this business gets my support is that the car repair services here are better than anywhere else in the city. Jack is the most honest, reasonable, and hardworking car mechanic I have ever met. My family has taken our cars to him for nearly 20 years, which is UNHEARD OF considering my mom is a somewhat miserly Chinese lady who's suspicious that everyone is trying to rip her off (sorry, mom! But I should at least defend her in saying that she immigrated to the Bronx in the late 80s, different world back then?). I recently drove from Chicago to Boston to visit my parents and unfortunately got a nasty flat tire on the road. I called around to several tire shops and two Firestones, none of whom had my tires. Firestone even suggested that I replace ALL my tires (which I had purchased only ~15k miles earlier). This flat tire occurred the day before I was set to leave back for Chicago, so I begrudgingly agreed that changing all the tires was the best course of action. Before we went home, my mom suggested we talk to Jack to get a second opinion. He brainstormed ideas with us over the phone while the spare was being put in at Costco. He brainstormed after we drove over to see him at his shop. He flat out disagreed with Firestone and said he would call around to the different Boston suppliers to see if he could find a replacement for me! Not only that, he taught me how to identify what type of tires I actually had, so I could be a more informed participant in my car dealings. I brought my car in the next morning. He could not find my same tire- it was discontinued- but he found an equivalent and rotated my tires so that the new one was in the back (my car is a front wheel drive). This way, he explained, there would be less impact on my car if the one different brand was in the back. He also then filled each tire and, after noticing I had a new cabin filter box in the car, replaced it for me FREE OF CHARGE. I brought the car in for evaluation at 6pm the night before, my car was good as new by 9:30am the next morning and it only cost me $15 in labor. You will not find better service than this. Jack is just a hardworking man who loves his job, the good kind of old-school mechanic you want but have never been able to find.

Bonus points for having the same price for cash or credit unlike the gas station on Route 1, Rudy's Express.

Speedway is one of the newest chain companies of gas that has recently moved into the Boston area…read moredue to the absence of Hess Gas Stations, which all changed hands about a year ago now. This specific Speedway sits at the busy intersection of Bridge Street, Ames Street and Pine Street in Dedham. While the lot isn't huge (and is a really odd shape), the builders managed to fit a decent sized convenience store and six gas pumps on the plot of land. They seem to mirror the prices of Shell, which sits diagonally across from this station on the Ames Street side of the intersection; however the benefits of mirror in price don't stop there. Here, there is a "Speedy Rewards" system in place that is awesome. Points can actually win you gift cards, free gas, prizes and more. Many of the associates here, such as Santiago (and Lauren, I think....), are very friendly and kind in helping customers get set up with this program as well. They also have a full store filled with newspapers, snacks, coffee, candy, drinks and more. The miniature store over at Sunoco is laughable and unfeasible in its current state (honestly, they don't sell anything, since it's literally five square feet!). I continue to come to this gas station and never have any complaints. It's only been improvements since Hess left, and with that, I would consider this one of the best gas stations in the area. 5 stars.
