My family and I have had 3 very disappointing visits to this location in a row. We love Ruby Tuesday's but this location has problems. Our food took almost an hour at 6:30 on a Tuesday with less than 5 tables in there. The server was very nervous and apologetic but first he said it's coming right out; then he came back and said it's actually going to be a minute longer because "there's a lot going on back there". We could hear loud laughter coming from the kitchen. When our food came, my husband's primavera pasta was cold, bland, and had pesto sauce. My N.Y. strip (ordered medium) was well done and it was definitely a sirloin. It was flat, square, and no more than 6 oz. I sent back my meal because even the mash potatoes were inedible. Tasted like leftovers that Sat in the steam well too long. My husband is a chef and I'm a server so we are usually very forgiving but the manager proceeded to embarrass and investigate me when we had her come over. She said the food couldnt have taken that long because there was a manager cooking and that it was cooked correctly. I told her I didn't want my meal and she took it off the ticket, but made me feel like I was just looking for a free meal. The remake was also inedible and even though it was free it's going right in the trash. I had it in a to go box and as soon as opened it at home it was all swimming in meat blood so bad that the mash potatoes were all pink. EW! The service and food were both horrible! We waited almost 10 minutes for our server to even come greet us, then about 15 minutes more for her to reappear with a soda and strawberry lemonade. Then she disappeared again 10 minutes later she came back to take the order and last we seen of her til I asked a host to go find her because we had had enough. I got a chicken sandwich with avocado on it, the chicken was so tough I didn't even finish it, my fiance got a burger. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! Ordered three burgers and three orders of Mac 'n cheese last night for dinner for delivery. First off, a grand total of $60 for three burgers and three sides is outrageous, but prior experience with Ruby Tuesday had been quite good, so we ordered in good faith at 6:05pm. Delivery was supposed to be by 7:10pm via GrubHub. At 7:45pm the Grossly overweight GrubHub driver arrives looking like she just rolled out of bed. Ripped T-shirt on with no bra and 'everything' you can't unsee just hanging out! It was appalling! Standing there with food further getting cold, she wants to make excuses for her tardiness and not only that, no Mac n' cheese was brought with the order. "Oh, they ran out today" (then why doesn't the website state that?) "you can call them for a refund". Absolute BS! Finally after bringing the food inside, we open the cardboard containers to find not one, not two...but THREE burgers completely RAW in the middle! The burgers were asked to be cooked medium! Enough fries in all three orders to make a regular order of fries at a reputable food establishment! This was, BY FAR, the WORST food delivery experience I've EVER had! Luke warm raw meat and a couple fries per box? Oh nooo....we are in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic and THE LAST THING I need is food poisoning with that virus going around. Yes...I threw $60 away in the trash. Decided to eat something safe, the leftover lasagne in the fridge. Never again. Ruby Tuesday need to be ASHAMED of the people they have delivering for them...and even MORE ashamed not checking the raw food and pitiful portions sent out to customers via delivery service. So goes the old fact...better to pick up or eat in restaurant...because delivery is something they know most people just 'accept' because the food is late and people are starving by the time it gets there. This restaurant was conveniently located across the street from the hotel that we were staying at. Not many restaurants in the area so decided to stop in for dinner. Big disappointment. First the floors and tables felt sticky (especially the floors!) The waitress was nice and greeted us immediately upon sitting and provided great service. (The only good part of our visit.) Made our way to salad bar...bigger disappointment! Had to wait on plates and when they finally brought some out, we had to go through several to find a clean one. Then...hardly any lettuce and the bar was not kept tidy(food bowls were contaminated with other foods etc). It wasnt busy at all so no excuse for all of these deficiencies. It's a shame that the food here is always hit or miss, way more misses than hits. Last week when we were there they were out of the honey bourbon BBQ sauce and the ribs my husband order were old and mushy. I wanted the honey bbq chicken breast but had to settle for regular sauce. The chicken breast seemed like it had freezer burn, was stringy and cooked too much. Once our food was served our waitress never came back to our table (they weren't even busy at all). I actually had to go up the bar to ask for a manager, while there a customer came in to pick up a Togo order and was handed 2 Togo drinks, several boxes (2 or 3 large ones and 2 smaller ones) with condiments and packaged utensils on top of the smallest box. The customer asked for bags and was told they were out. He was not happy! A manager never came to the table but our server did, told her the food was not good at all as she could see from our plates we had only taken a few bites. Basically said she would take the entrees off. She did say she was sorry but it didn't seem genuine at all, more like she said it out of obligation. We have had dishes that were decent before but usually just go for the salad bar but decided to try entrees again....won't do that again. Even the salad bar has been slacking the last several visits with numerous items being out, empty salad dressing containers and the salad bar area needing to be cleaned up. How hard is a salad bar? I just wanted salad and they've advertised a fantastic salad bar,it wasn't. The plates were gross, greasy with food still adhered, when we brought it to the staffs attention they brought out 6 somewhat cleaner plates...leaving the dirty ones for customers not so particular. It was downhill from there, at 12:30 the salad bar was picked clean and the choices were wilted and slim. This was one of my fav restaurants..I hated when they left Northwoods Mall..only have one girlfriend that I can occasionally go with to the West Ashley location...love the pasta salad and apple salad at the salad bar. Potato salad a bit bland in flavor. They haven't changed up the salad bar ingredients in years so it's pretty reliable but... It's near the front door so in summer has attracted flies in the past...glad to see there weren't any this trip! I miss the old days when they had cracker packets at the salad bars...u just get croutons now. A variety of entrees on the menu...in replacement of four garlic biscuits now with your meals, you get like 2 biscuit halves for 2 people and they call it flatbread... I asked for 2 more and they gave it to us. I don't think the server liked us two old ladies much, she looked annoyed when we asked for more bread and napkins, and she never refilled my water. We just ate the salad bar so it's not like it was much work for her? I think the table of guys next to us got better service. read more

The service was so bad, I gathered my family and left. When I arrived the manager kindly sat us. I had my 4 year old and 2 year old. After 12 minutes, no one brought a high chair, asked for our drink order or acknowledged us. The waitress walked past several times and profusely appeasing another family who's order was wrong. Dropped in last night for dinner with my lovely girlfriend. We were greeted promptly by the host and showed to a table. Our server, Antwan, was carrying meals to a table near us but made sure to tell us he would be right back on his way by. The entire experience was amazing. We had steak, soup, salads, and the 4 way app. Antwan was very attentive, made great suggestion and you could tell over all that he loves what he does. If you do go, ask for this guy, as he knows his stuff. We had a friend coming to meet us and I only mentioned his name once, when said friend arrived Antwan introduced himself and asked my friend what he would like, by name. It's the little things like that that set you apart as a server in a town full of servers. Shout out to the f&b employees that love their jobs and show it!!!! read more

So I read the reviews about good service. I did not get that person. Sat at the bar for lunch. Only 2 other people at bar and got passed by several times just to get my drink order in. Then it took a few minutes just to get an unsweet tea. Salad bar was very low or out of several items including me grabbing one of the last 2 plates. Told someone and was finally tended to over 5 minutes later. Tea was empty during mean for several minutes before I had to ask for more tea. Now the food, salad bar was very good as Ruby Tuesdays tend to be other than the low amount of stuff. Also got the chicken quesadilla and was surprised and how good. Didn't come with sour cream so had to sake for that. Overall I would come back. I think an earlier rush may have played into the salad bar and the server possibly being slightly worn out. read more

We got into Charleston after a few hours on the road and were looking for something to eat, and conveniently/unfortunately enough, there was a Ruby Tuesday right across the street from the hotel. I haven't had a single good experience with Ruby Tuesday, and I really don't know what I was expecting when I walked into the door. This was honestly one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant chain in my life. The service was OK, but the food was god awful. The servers seemed like they were rushing, even though it was maybe 3 hours before closing time. The spinach artichoke dip and the chips it came with were extremely salty. The baby back ribs I ordered were drowning in barbecue sauce. The rice was overcooked and bland. In summation, I will never, in my entire life, eat at Ruby Tuesday again. read more

Let me preface this with the fact that the food was delicious. This review is solely based on service and not the food that was served. After waiting ten minutes for a server to come to our table, we waited 15 more minutes for our waters. We ordered right away and then continued to wait 25 minutes for an appetizer of chips and queso. This was the worst dining experience in Charleston! The poor server had to come back from the kitchen and tell us "loaded baked potatoes" took too much time to prepare but we could have mashed potatoes instead! I love baby backs more than anything and very few restaurants cook them right. Well at Ruby Tuesday's these were by far the worst I have ever had. You could barely get your knife through them. Not to mention having absolutely no flavor at all. Oh it was a Friday night and they were not busy despite the fact that the waitress complained that they were. Went to get dinner with my wife on Sunday evening and had not been to a Ruby Tuesday in quite a while. Went inside and there were two couples and a gentleman waiting as we inquired if there was a wait. They said there was and they were on the wait list. So we stood there 5 minutes waiting for a hostess to appear. While standing there I see 8 tables on the left side and atleast 4 tables open on the right side of the facility. I make a comment to the people waiting on why was there a wait when there are plenty of open tables that are clean...they were not aware. Finally a woman comes and asks how many and the wait will be 20-30 minutes. I ask why as there are nearly a dozen tables open. Her response was that they were swapping out wait staff. I told her swapping out wait staff does not cause a place to come to stand still and only seat half of their tables. She just looked at me and asked people behind me how many they had. So I told her I would go elsewhere. In all my years of working F&B in college and dining since then, I have never been told they can only seat a portion of the tables due to shift change. I saw at least 4 wait staff person and who I thought might be a manager in back....ridiculous. I am sure some that did not see tables would just wait but that is poor scheduling and managing if you have to shut down and lose business because of a shift change during the middle of dinner hours....Who does it like this? ...and is successful. Wont be going to Ruby Tuesdays again. It was at 6:30pm...Sunday evening...and place was only half full. Very poor excuse and no way to run a F&B business.... Awful service! Me and my friend visited late morning/close to lunch time for our lunch break. Waited 10 mins for a waitress to meet us and 3 other parties at the hostess area. As we waited, we heard yelling. A family of 4 ran out and told us that when the manager came to ask for their order (as he told us there was only him and 2 waitresses working at the moment) 3 of the 4 family members were not ready to order yet and asked for a few more minutes. The manager then yelled at them for not being ready. When we were finally seated in the very empty restaurant, we both ordered $6.99 specials-and the waiter acknowledged that was our price. We waited 45 minutes for our food to come out. I decided to use the restroom while waiting and walked past the kitchen and observed and heard from outside the two waitresses chatting and no food cooking in sight. When my food was delivered, I was given the wrong meat and notified my server. She then said "oh crap I grabbed the wrong stuff out the fridge." On top of this, my co worker texted me and asked if I could pick him up a cookie, when I asked the server for the "skillet cookie" we waited 25 minutes to get it. The long waiting times made us late back to work. When I got my receipt, my friend and I were both charged $10.99 for our meals. I must say I had reservations about eating here to begin with but, after having suffered through the saltiest, briniest thing I have ever put into my mouth, it will not happen again. I understand how standardized recipes work and I still can't imagine how corporate headquarters approved this... We shared the black and blue burger, some type of flatbread with the same blue cheese substance and they both were so salty that we nearly became sick.
