My husband and I stopped by yesterday for an early dinner and it was absolutely terrible. First of all, the entire restaurant needs to be renovated or updated. It's dirty in a lot of areas with water damage, and dirty HVAC vents. They received an 80 from the health dept on their rating, so that didn't surprise me. I'm very surprised they are still in business. Ruby Tuesday used to be an upscale restaurant, but it seems to be going down the tubes like Applebee's and Chili's too. I ordered a strawberry lemonade and it tasted like it was pure strawberry mixture. I had to water it down to drink it. Even though hardly anyone was in there, it took forever to get our food, but it shouldn't have because the type of food they sell at these chain restaurants is predominantly thawed out and warmed up in a microwave. I also ordered a Philly cheesesteak with fries. The Philly was smothered in queso cheese, instead of regular sliced, cheddar cheese, and the fries were extremely over salted. Everything about this restaurant is nasty. The front doors, windows, tables, floors, and cutlery are nasty. We were offered a table that hadn't been wiped, the seats had food on them, and the floor was covered in food where our feet would be. We asked for a clean table and were offered a different table that was almost as dirty. The salad at the bar was not fresh. It had pieces of rotten lettuce in it that had to be picked out. I asked for ranch dressing on the side and was brought the most suspicious looking cup of ranch dressing ever. It had bubbles in it that wouldn't pop. It was seriously gross and questionable. The chicken in the chicken Parmesan was overcooked and tasted unpleasant. The hostess and waitress (same person) was polite but that's literally the only thing positive I can say about this place. On this Tuesday evening in late January I arrived just after 5PM and received a warm welcome and was promptly seated. The dining room has tables and booths and I sat next to the big window to enjoy the warmth of the sun. For my entree I ordered the double-breasted Asiago Bacon Chicken. It comes with mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. The broccoli was nice and tender and the mashed potatoes evidenced quality ingredients, and the taste of both were good. The chicken was fork tender and had a flavorful cheese sauce and lots of nice mushroom slices. The seasoning was good. My waitress was friendly and proactively ensured that my drink was filled. Ordered curbside to go order. Got there early with no recognition from the restaurant. Waited until 10 minutes past the time the app indicated the food would be ready. Looked at the confirmation e-mail and realized the problem with the delay was my fault as I was supposed to call the restaurant upon arrival. Call was answered by a recording with instructions to press certain keys based upon whether I wanted the hours of operation, etc. None of the options were for curbside pickup. The last option was to press a button for any other question. Answered on the second or third ring by a waitress who brought my food out within the next 3 to 4 minutes. Got the food home and found my error cost the food temperature...the NY Strip steak was still warm but rather fatty. The side of steamed broccoli meager and ice cold. The 3 stars are due to the restaurants inability to set up an IVR system without mention of a service I imagine is used frequently by their patrons. The Outback curbside process is much more patron friendly. They look for the cars as they drive up and park in the curbside spots...no reason to call the restaurant. For a restaurant that had one or two other patrons at the time I parked, one would think they'd pay more attention to the curbside-parked cars, especially when they know they've got an order waiting for pick-up. The other two reasons for the 3 stars is the quality of the food and inaccuracy of my order. Of course, I did not give consideration to the food temperature because that appeared to by my fault. I was only able to eat about 1/2 of the steak because the other 1/2 was all fat. I ordered the grilled mushrooms as a "steak topper" but there were not mushrooms in the bag or plastic packaging. The chain needs to ensure their individual restaurants pay attention to the quality of the product they're putting out. Perhaps a quick glance would allow them to see a particular steak should not be served. Double checking the accuracy of the order should also be a basic part of their service. Oh, by the way, I ordered my steak medium. It was delivered to me exactly as requested. They get kudos for this as other restaurants don't seem to know what medium means. Will I go back? I'm definitely not going to write them off over one visit. That just wouldn't be fair. read more

Hubby and I stopped in this location after driving through Georgia on our way north. Hubby wanted a half rack of ribs, and I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich with a baked potato and the garden bar. We noticed that some of the prices on the menu were less than what we pay in Florida - $4.99 for the garden bar add-on is a bargain! All garden bar items were fresh and full when I got there, and were being monitored by the hostess who refilled the items that were low. I especially liked the dried cranberries that I add to my salad - together with toasted sunflower seeds. Potato salad was very good. Our main entrees arrived, and I chose to eat the crispy chicken without the brioche bun it was served on. My husband said his ribs with regular barbecue sauce was good, and I enjoyed the chicken with the honey-mustard dipping sauce it came with. Since we arrived very hungry, we decided to split a dessert - the lemon cream cake - and it was very tasty. Our dinner was good and the place seemed to be quiet. Sounds silly to say but I had some of the best food I've ever had at a Ruby Tuesday in Calhoun, GA! I ordered the hickory bourbon salmon with the grilled zucchini and substituted the rice for mashed potatoes. I cleared my plate! The salmon was flaky and had the perfect sear. Zucchini was so flavorful and grilled well. Mashed potatoes were delicious. My dad had the ribs and the meat was juicy and falling off the bone. Food came out quickly. Since Ruby Tuesday doesn't have too many vegetarian options, and instead of making special requests to items on the menu to suit my needs, I chose to get the all you can eat salad bar, while my hubby ordered a burger, served with Ruby Tuesday's signature tots. Since they had a $4 special on well cocktails, we each ordered one- mine a vodka and cranberry and raspberry m and coke for him. The all you can eat salad bar was actually well-stocked and had so many options. The fruit and vegetables were all fresh, everything was clean, no spillage on the ground or commingling of ingredients or separate salad bar options. The staff seemed to be refreshing items regularly and keeping the vicinity spotless. I made a rather nice salad and selected a few other options from the bar, along with some baked bread crisps. The deli salad and pasta dishes I sampled tasted quite good. My husband's food hit the table pretty quickly (but not too quickly). He ordered it cooked medium and said it was just right and the tots were great (yes, they were pretty tasty. I can attest to that because I sampled them). Vegan friendly! In Calhoun, ga, that is a miracle. They don't have tons of options, but what they do have was satisfying and that is very rare for this area. The website has an allergy database that shows you exactly what is available for you to order. I've never seen a more allergy friendly website!! Fantastic! I got the salad bar, and it had plenty of fresh veggies, and even black beans and fried onion peices! I was very pleasantly surprised that I was able to make such a nicely rounded salad... Something more than lettuce, tomato, and cucumber! For my entree I ordered the childrens tomato basil pasta and the server noted for the kitchen that I had a dairy allergy. The pasta was the perfect accompaniment to the large salad. Very nice! The only negative was the water. It wasn't filtered or anything, just tasted like tap water.
