As soon as I was seated my server immediately got water and coffee. I asked for extra cream and was quite surprised at her bringing me a cup of my own. Family arrived, we had delicious appetizers. But unfortunately there was an issue with one. We brought it to our waitress' attention and immediately the manager came over, And apologized. We had a great breakfast, our food was delicious. Our cups never went empty. Our waitress was exemplary, handling several others as well. At the end of our breakfast our bill had been adjusted and both appetizers had been removed. The food was to die for!! When the plates came out my jaw hit the table, I love the way the food was presented. I also had the loaded tots which had the best pork I have had in a while!! The wait time was a little long but it was worth in my opinion. The staff were extremely nice and kept my drink filled. We had arrived on a 12:30pm flight, and were starving as we had left Ohio very, very early. Drove into Pensacola and decided to give this place a try since it served breakfast and lunch and we weren't sure what we would rather have. The street parking nearby was all taken, but there is a parking lot essentially behind the restaurant that had a ton of spaces. You have to download an app to pay for your parking ($3.50), but may places (including the Ruby Slipper) validated so we did it. The restaurant was busy, but not packed - definitely social distancing on the table seating. We went with breakfast - my boyfriend especially loved his grits (hello South!) and I was crazy over the Bananas Foster French Toast. It was so incredibly delicious and not overly sweet, I absolutely loved it. The decor was quirky, and the staff was super friendly, so all in all we enjoyed our stop. Then went out and walked around downtown for a while since we still had time on the meter (Ruby Slipper did validate but make sure you ask!) and overall really enjoyed our time here. Great place for brunch, provide you're not noise sensitive. My party got there about 12:30 for brunch and while not overly crowded, it was as loud as any nightclub. But eh, we went for food and was not disappointed! The shrimp omelette was one of the best over ever had and they do not scrimp on shrimp! (See what I did there! Lol) it was loaded with juicy 16-18 sized shrimp and wrapped in a delightfully fluffy omelette! The biscuit was light and flaky and did not disappoint. The coffee was basic coffee and while we appreciated the space during our meal, it would've been nice to get a warmer. The peach Bellini was underwelming, but the French toast bites were incredible! The sweet heat chicken was a tad bit small, but juicy and flavorful with just the right amount of heat. I decided to try the Peace Maker so I can sample two of their egg benedict options. I chose the Chicken St. Charles and the OG. I am not the biggest fan of biscuits so I asked if I could have it all on a bed of breakfast potatoes. The staff were so accommodating/friendly and made that adjustment for me. I did not regret my choice! The hollandaise was perfectly creamy and flavorful. The eggs were poached heavenly pillows on top of seasoned protein. Not only is the food as Southern as it can get, you also get the complimentary Southern hospitality from the staff. Both the food and service were excellent and you won't be disappointed. One thing about this place is the lack of parking around the restaurant. You might have to look for close street parking or park a little farther down the road. The wait did take a minute but I mentally prepared for it before coming because it appeared to be popular breakfast spot. It is a nice place to eat, but due to some of the aggravations with going there, such as the aforementioned wait times, it isn't somewhere that is ever at the top of our list. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because I ordered the peaches & cream French toast and it wasn't really good French toast. The bread was like regular sandwich bread and the "cream" was just a really small portion of whipped cream and canned peaches. I was expecting brioche or some kind of fluffy bread with a thick cream cheese layer with fresh peaches. Also, I wish the plates were bigger because I kept getting food on the table. But the Benedict's were super tasty and wow they taste way better on a biscuit than on an English muffin so that is a genius move on the restaurant's part!
