(Stop Doing It Yourself) and hired Ruby Red Cleaning to deep clean our home as we prepared for the arrival of our first baby. I just did not have the energy at that time and it was such a gift to have someone come and tackle all those pesky chores I had been putting off. We had a great experience with the Ruby Red team of two cleaners and all the communications were easy & clear via text message and their website. They have a very streamlined process which we really appreciate. It was so nice having a clean, dust-free house and after I gave birth, we decided to continue using their services for routine monthly cleanings. After your house has been deep cleaned, the routine maintenance becomes much more manageable and does not cost as much. We found a schedule that works with our budget and now just about a year later, It's been the best way to "treat myself" as a new mom. Our little guy is already on the move, crawling all over the place, and I've had peace of mind knowing that our floors are not dirty and he can be free to explore his surroundings. Last year, while my wife was pregnant and close to giving birth to our son, we decided to treat ourselves to a cleaning service and opted for a deep cleaning so that our baby could come home to a super clean house. We had so much going on at the time and just didn't have the time or energy to clean our home ourselves so Ruby Red really came in clutch. We received a quote quickly and cleaners were able to come the week that my wife was scheduled to go the hospital. The cleaners did an amazing job and were both very friendly. We have a smaller house and they were great about navigating the tight spaces and asking questions about certain areas where necessary. Well, as most new parents know, the first few months were chaotic and we were perpetually tired so before we knew it, our house was trashed and we needed Ruby Red's services once again. This time, we went with their basic cleaning package ($150) and it only differed in a few areas, most notably, we had 1 cleaner this time around instead of 2, and certain areas were cleaned a little differently. This package worked well for our budget and once we were able to get on our own feet again, we were able to fill the gaps when needed, like the baseboards, air vents, and other areas that are normally add-ons. As a guy who grew up lower income, this was a difficult expense to continue to do regularly but living in a smaller house, every part of the house is a "high traffic" area so it all gets messy/dirty quickly. After how well those first two cleanings went, we decided to continue the service monthly! I pride myself on being able to tackle the cleaning myself, and still do, but over the course of a month of cleaning and tidying the house myself, while being a first-time dad, it's honestly EXTREMELY helpful having a cleaner come once a month to take the pressure off of me and my wife. We've now been using their services for under a year now and have been very happy with the ease of communication, billing + tipping system, and the friendly staff that clean our home. A few things to note: they're an eco-friendly cleaning product service so they won't use harsh products like bleach when they clean your home. They're very clear and upfront about what they can and cannot do on their website, as well as what's included in their pricing so be sure to browse their site and ask all of the right questions during your first consult. They take detailed notes on their end and will clean areas to your preference without having to be reminded each month, even if a different cleaner comes to clean. I like doing business with good businesses, and that is what Ruby Red Cleaning is. We've had a cleaning "lady" in the past when we lived in Miami, which was great, but having a cleaning service is excellent. Do we pay more? Yes, of course. Does a great independent cleaner clean just as well? Probably. Could you do a better job? Maybe... but doubtful in the same amount of time... So why do I like Ruby Red? - Convenient communication, including by text. They send me updates ahead of time anytime things change. -They're a team. When I needed a deep clean (the day before Thanksgiving nonetheless), they had a team of 4 at my house and had it done in a few hours. My wife was thrilled. -Because it's a team, I don't have to wait days or weeks if our "rockstar" gets sick or has a sudden change. Not the case with our old cleaner. -Liability insurance. It actually gave me anxiety thinking about our old cleaner hauling mop buckets up the spiral staircase. It's nice knowing that if something happens, they're covered. -They have convenient technology that lets me log in on my time and change information as necessary. -Our cleaner, Danielle, is great. Gets right to it and get's it done. I often work from home and she is quiet as a mouse. At first, I was wondering if she was really cleaning, but everything is spotless. I actually did a double take yesterday when I realized how clean the microwave was. I didn't want to put food in it. -No harsh chemicals. Our old lady used "Fabuloso" and I'd have to air the house out after she left. It literally gave me headaches. We have a special cleaner for our wood floors that Danielle uses, and then everything else just smells... "clean." Jenny is very upfront about pricing, standards, and expectations. When I had one small billing error, she was right on top of it and went above and beyond what I expected and even asked for. Ruby Red Cleaning just left my house and I am speechless. NEVER has my house looked this great - after living here for 7 years (and yes, that speaks to the time and attention I put into maintaining my home... or lack thereof). The team that came to my house was on time, friendly and thorough. They started their visit by reviewing the checklist the owner Jenny provided them when she did my initial walk-through consultation. They completed everything as promised and even more. My baseboards have never been this white. Nor has my floor looked this shiny. They fluffed my couch cushions, straightened them up and made my bed. The kitchen cupboards were all wiped down clean everything was dusted. I'm continuing to notice things I've never thought to clean before. Like many, I wasn't sure if the investment would be worth it, but I'm convinced. The results speak for themselves. read more

I was quoted $600 (!!!) for a deep clean of my home. I asked for a basic clean for $350 instead. With a basic clean I asked if they could wipe off the 2 tables for the price. No dusting was included. I came home to sticky, dirty tables that weren't wiped off. The four dishes I had left in the sink weren't washed. Changing sheets costs extra. I came home to a house basically as I had left it with just a light cleaning for over $300. Disappointed is an understatement. read more

Really wasted my time and $$ using Ruby Red. We were moving into a new home and thought with everything that was going on that it would be so much easier to hire someone to clean the new house instead of trying to do it ourselves which turned out to be serious mistake. To be honest I was shocked because I had heard good things but the person they sent us was either new or had never cleaned a home before. I thought I had simple requests....clean the bathrooms, kitchen, and mop the floors but apparently that was not possible. Bathrooms on a scale of 1 to 10 where a 5. The kitchen...sighs...was a 2 on a scale of 1 to 10 as the oven and stove were barely touched and I had indicated that them being cleaned, above all, was my priority. I was not able to stay at the house to make sure my requests were carried out and what was REALLY annoying was that no one took the time, courtesy, or consideration to call me BEFORE the maid left to let me know that she wasn't able to do what I had asked. ----Of course they had no issue with charging me like everything had been completed.--- When I called to discuss my concerns they offered to send the same maid back out to he house and I wondered what that was supposed to accomplish since she had been there for 2 1/2 hours the day before and wasn't able to get the job done. I'm no cleaning genius but I bought a can of oven cleaner that same evening, sprayed it on the oven, and 30min later the oven was clean with minimal effort so it wasn't like it needed to be sandblasted to get it clean. I was also told that Jenny would be emailing me to discuss the oven and have yet to get that email. I wasn't sure what that was supposed to have accomplished anyway unless we were going to debate the merits of oven cleaners. Really wishing now I had just saved the $$ and cleaned it myself. Perhaps if you can stay on site to monitor progress your ok? Who knows. Lesson learned the hard (and expensive) way. read more

Paid several hundred $ for several hours of deep cleaning. Only to be left with dirty bathrooms and a dirty kitchen. They weren't clean let alone deep cleaned. I wanted to support a local business and after receiving a flyer I called to give them a shot. They set up a phone appointment to discuss my needs and they missed the appointment. I should have moved on then. Second red flag, that flyer they gave me, I wasn't eligible for any of those discounts. And now they keep littering my neighborhood with more flyers. Wow! I am so thrilled with this cleaning service. I have been using them for about a year now and now I'm completely spoiled. I pull crazy hours at work and cleaning is always last on my list. They clean every Friday while I'm working so I can start my weekends with a fresh place. I love Ruby because they're based in Baldwin Park (all about supporting local business) and they're team is super responsive whenever I need to change a date or I have special request. I know other companies are cheaper but I never felt like my stuff was safe with them. Ruby is professional and does complete background checks on all of their cleaners.
