Not only did the build out take forever (7 months), but since picking up my van on my first/second use, I have had roof leaks because they didn't install the "C" gaskets right for the AC unit, I experienced multiple leaks in the pressurized plumbing system (see pictures below) which caused wood damage to the cabinetry due to poor PEX seals, I still have no relief from the misbehaving (and Rydawell recommended) Ecoflow electrical system, I discovered they failed to insulate the sliding door, they actually plumbed the gray water lines into the BOTTOM of the gray water tank using the same penetration point as the drain (this caused water to back up into the shower pan when using the sinks (not to mention it would fail completely in freezing weather) and I discovered that the Rixen heating system was installed against manufacturer recommendations (to name just some of the issues). This has caused me thousands of dollars to get repaired (so far) at another (competent) van builder. While his hourly rate may seem cheaper, it takes him much longer to accomplish work items. As an example, his quote to install a 2nd battery (which he was supposed to have left room for) was twice as long as I was able to get it done elsewhere by professional van builders.

He certainly spent some time and insight that he did not have to do once he realized we were not the right fit. One of the most frustrating aspects of remodeling is that pricing for building materials is often fairly opaque for homeowners. There's the retail price, which doesn't seem to have much to do with what the material actually costs, whether it's tile, plumbing fixtures, lumber, or you name it. Trades people pay some other price, and you never know what that is. That's byzantine enough, but then there's pricing for stone slab countertops and tub decks, which isn't even retail pricing, but rather "we won't tell you at all" pricing. Bring your designer and fabricator along or don't bother looking, or else you're shopping in the dark. But at Crocodile, I was greeted with a smile. They walked me through their large selection of slabs, explained how much everything costs, and got me a sample to take home. It was a pleasure to look at their lovely stone collection, get my questions answered, and the price is significantly lower than at the Georgetown places. Highly recommend.

We recently bought our first house and the only part we weren't satisfied with was the cheap and inefficient ClosetMaid wire rack systems in our closet. Our space wouldn't have worked for a stock IKEA system as there was a pillar and a wiring cabinet for internet in the closet, but even if those concerns weren't present we would still have elected to go with Eric. Our biggest challenge was my wife and my disparate heights. I'm over 6'3" and my clothes are just as long. My wife is 5'4" and hers aren't. We didn't even realize you could customize a closet to accommodate clothes of wildly different length but Eric measured what we already had and did just that. This isn't a possibility with big box solutions, I'm thrilled that my shirts and jackets have enough space to hang without bunching up at the bottom. Eric was punctual and professional at our first meeting, spent a lot of time gathering measurements and soliciting our wants before making some preliminary drawings and showing us his wide selection of materials and finishes. We were thrilled with our first sketch and things only got better when we received our detailed closet plans. Eric worked hard to make sure he could find the finish and drawer style of our dreams, working with multiple vendors to get us that material we needed. His install took about a day and he was clean and quiet--my wife and I were able to work from home while he did his work without issue. We went from not enough storage space to more than we know what to do with. Eric's pricing is fair and comparable to big box do-it-yourself solutions. You will get a custom closet without compromise to fit your budget and will end up with a nicer and more space efficient solution than if you looked elsewhere. Eric even replaced the utilitarian cable closet cover with a bespoke wooden cover that matched the closet material and finish.
