The food was fast easy to order and delicious. I got the garlic chicken and my co-worker got general tsao chicken. He got white rice I went with fried rice and glad I did it was very tasty with the little tiny shrimps that added texture and flavor. My garlic chicken had a good balance of sweet and savory and I wasn't overwhelmed by garlic, a little more garlic would have been okay for me. We added an order of egg rolls and that was tender with just the right cook on them not to crunchy but still good flavor. I would ask for more soy sauce next time the portions they give need about 2-3 soy sauce per dish you order and then half a soy sauce for me for the egg roll. We've lived in La Place for a year and tried every Chinese restaurant here - this one being the last we've tried and the worst. They add shrimp to literally everything on their menu to charge extra but the shrimp are the size of a pinky nail, and they're not cleaned, so you're eating shrimp poop. My spicy beef was not spicy, the sweet and sour chicken was breaded then tossed with sauce instead of having a dipping sauce which is just not what I'm personally used to from a Chinese restaurant, and overall I'm just really disappointed. The staff was nice which is the only only reason for two stars but we spent $70 here as a family and don't even want the leftovers. read more

Ate here while on business. Was very pleasantly surprised! The orange chicken was excellent! Very flavorful, and the portion size was great! More than I could eat. I had the Mai Tai with the dinner, would like to know what they put in it, it was amazing! I've been on a Mai Tai kick ever since and have become somewhat of a Mai Tai aficionado. The meal and all everything that came with it was great, but man! That Mai Tai! Anyway, whatever you order, get the Mai Tai. But don't drive after that. The best Cho-Chos in 20 miles. The mandarin chicken is good and the general to is even better. The place is easily located and in a not so busy area. The wait is usually 15 minutes when ordering ahead. I have yet to sit in this place but have been ordering here for years. If you're in the mood for some really good Chinese food this is the place. I love this place! The food is always fresh and the service never disappoints. I have many allergies and they are always accommodating to all of my request. My favorite is the vegetable soup. The vegetables are really fresh and crisp. Ruby garden use to have wonderful customer service years ago when i was young and was going there. Now the customer service is horrible! The food is not quality either. Today i came there and the lady thats been there for years was so unprofessional. I came in i greeted her and said hi im here to pick up a order told her my order and she looked at me and greeted another customer and preceded to help them. I didnt say anything, so when she came back to the counter she asked me what i needed and the customer ask her something and she walked away again. If i didnt order food for my coworker i would have left the food. And to top everything pff the food was not made like i asked and it was horrible. The crab Ragu was nice and cold.
