(Excuse my French) Butttttt the fucking guy that cooks the food literal was cleaning the wall (metal wall) with a broom mind you this is in the kitchen right above the food that was being cooked! I had a call in order, I was just about to pay until I saw this. That was it for me. I told the cashier I'm good and I walked out. So this is a reminder of how NASTY this place is. I recommend going to Golden China most definitely. Only good thing I guess was customer service woman at front counter was nice. This is a staple in the community and a place I used to frequent QUITE a bit back in the day. My most recent visit here only brought back FOND, FOND memories of when I first started to frequent this restaurant over 17 years ago. The service is great. Always greeted with a smile, the cashiers are in place to be of assistance and this is just what they do. The waiting area is just adjacent to the dining area and both areas are quite expansive; so if you're picking up or dining in, they've got you covered. The menu is also massive and there's bound to be something there for all palettes. For me this was a pickup order, so I got the food and jetted. My wait time was nominal; when I arrived, I only had to pay for the food and I was free to go. Calling ahead to place an order is the smart thing to do, if you're not dining in. The food was great tasting. The temperature was good. And the price was right. Ample parking in the shared parking lot. read more

I was a child the first time I had chinese food at this place. It was good then and it's good now. (1989, I was in the second grade) Fried rice used to be exactly $5.13 after tax. Don't know how much it cost now but it was oen of the best I knew of. There are many better resturants though in the NOLA area. This is the best chinese I have ever found. If you go during lunch and order off the Lunch menu its all under $10 including the drink and you get a good bit. It can be a little pricy during supper however one dish is enough to serve 2 people at night. I have yet to find a better Ton Cho chicken or Hot and spicy soup to beat it. The staff is great. I took my grandmother there and she is in a wheelchair it was possible to get in but it was slightly difficult because the only door that opens is very narrow due to 2 chinese lion statues. Perhaps they could open the door right next to it for someone I just never thought to ask. I gave his restraunt 5 stars because that is the highest it would let me go it really deserves 8! read more
