Ruby Chow's is always 10's across the board! Tried a number of dishes and not a single one disappointed. The ambiance is always beautiful. Seating is comfortable. Bar options are also great. Our waiter was also so kind and gave us great service!

I have been wanting to try this place for years, and I'm so glad I made it here! I'll go through each dish because we ate a LOT and some things were better than others. My Thai tea martini was phenomenal, one of the best cocktails I've had. Highlights for food were lobster fried rice, walnut shrimp, and the purple potato fries (can't remember the exact name). Both desserts yummy as well. Only things that we ate that were underwhelming were the soft boiled egg dish and the basil chicken. I'd skip those. Vibes are cool in here as well and service was good. I plan to be back!

Wow! The ambiance of this place is super cool. Asian meets speakeasy. Staff is very nice. Food is phenomenal. Crab Rangoon were some of the best I have ever had. The Chicken Katsu with the Caccio Pepe was amazing and we loved the Brussels sprouts. We'll be back!

5/5 recommend!! Loved Ruby Chows. I enjoyed the dimly lit, speakeasy-esque vibe (the red velvet curtain upon entry took me by surprise, but I liked it)! The craft cocktails were delicious, and every plate that I got was at least a 4/5. The dumplings are a must-try and also, the scallops were cooked to perfection and flavorful..they were just a tinge too salty but I'm thinking that was a one-off mishap. There are 2 floors - the seating is a bit tight but cozy. It was a great atmosphere with delicious food.

I loved this place. Such a vibe in the heart of OFW. Really great service. Welcoming feel. The food was incredible. It's like an Asian fusion tapas bar. Cocktails were great. Everything we had was wonderful. I didn't get any photos of the food tho because I was too busy scarfing it down. The green beans, the bao buns, the curry.. 10 out of mf 10. Definitely a good date night, night with friends, or if you're trying to show off the ATL food scene.

Ok this was amazing! I've been needing to get here for so long, and I'm so happy we finally did. The cocktails were amazing, and all the food was perfect. Ruby Chow's is asian-fusion tapas style, so you should come prepared to share and try lots of different dishes! Highlights for me were the Pork Belly & Grits and Brussels Sprouts! Parking is valet for $5, but the lot was full on a Friday, so we just found street parking around the corner! You also could pay to park at ponce if you wanted! Uber would be ideal. The bar is gorgeous, but definitely get a reservation!! It's great for a drink and tapas, but you can't just walk up to get a spot at the bar!! It's highly popular!!

Returned for another try. Sat at the bar as we had no reservations and it was packed. Service was fast and attentive. Food came out incredibly quickly. Katsu bao (4/5): good seasoning, fluffy bun, could use a bit more slaw/crunch Maitake mushroom (5/5): crispy and fried but not greasy, good serving size and well seasoned Scallops (3/5): three scallops that are over salted and nondescript sauce/mushrooms Squash soup: (4/5) corn soup was out. Super creamy and savory with some nice crunch from nuts and a tinge of acid. Shaking beef (3.5/5): it's literally just a deconstructed burger. The meat is nice but the rest of it is just straight up unseasoned raw lettuce, onion, and tomato. Mango sticky rice (5/5): probably the best thing I've had here so far. Rice is PROPERLY sticky, mango sorbet has a good balance of sweetness, the mochi bits are fun, and there's still actual mango. Massive serving size compared to all the other tapa sized plates here.

With my boyfriend on a Monday night, it was just the two of us and there was no wait. We ordered a couple of items and they came out pretty fast. I really like the fried oysters. They were really lightly breaded and the sauce was unique. They had a lot of unique cocktails. I ordered the one with gin and butterfly, and it was light and refreshing. The hamachi carpacio was pretty good. Roti canai was thicker than I was used to not as thin and crispy but still good. I think the crème brûlée Thai tea was really unique and flavorful.

We were a party of 8 people! The wait time was a bit long but they were able to accommodate our party in a small setting since all of the tables would normally seat about 2 people. I didn't take any pictures of the food because I was pretty hungry but we had the basil chicken, Roti Canai, Brussel sprouts, Szechuan green beans, & I believe the shaking beef! All the dishes were very good my favorites were the beef, green beans and the basil chicken! The Thai tea martini was also very good a different take on an espresso martini with a unique drink menu overall! One thing though is that the menu is kind of small bites not like a big dinner style. We did however fill up on all the dishes we ordered. Overall a great place to chill and catch up with friends not to mention the cute lights in the bar seating area as well!

Noodles, Brussels sprouts, and house pickles were delicious. Katsu bun was fresh and tasty with a nice spicy sauce. Galbi bun wasn't great. It wasn't hot and was pretty bland even with the pickles on it. The decor here is 1920s Shanghai and also adorable!

Lily S.

Cheyenne was amazing. She remembered my lychee martini customary order from last time. Shaking beef was great as always. Roti was amazing. The basil chicken was not good. Chicken thigh fried too hard.

We enjoyed the vibey atmosphere and the attentive service. The plates are fairly small, and we ordered 13 dishes for a two-person meal (no dessert). The food was very good, and the absolute highlight was the Roti Canai; so amazingly flaky and buttery, the best we've ever tried, including restaurants we've sampled in Malaysia and Singapore. This is what we ordered, ranked based on preference: Exceptional (A+): Roti Canai Excellent/Very Good (A/A-): Katsu Bun, Walnut Shrimp (2), Pork Belly & Grits, Miso Black Cod, Spicy Pork Noodle Good (B+/B): Seared Scallops, Wontons OK (B-/C+/C): L. A. Galbi Bun, Kempachi Serrano, Negi-Chutoro, Purple Yam Fries We spent $267 for a two-person meal (18% tip, 13 dishes, one mocktail, no alcohol, no dessert). We really enjoyed our dinner and will be returning to Ruby Chow!

Came here for dinner with colleagues and I was visiting atlanta. It is asian style tapas and I was shocked with how good it was! We came at 5:30 on a tuesday wit a reservation and it was pretty empty, but slowly started to get busy during normal dinner time hours (6-7pm). The Katsu bao and the maitake mushrooms are a MUST get. Everything else was solid as well but that katsu was cooked to perfection. One thing I will say though is that even for tapas, the price is pretty expensive for the quantity you get. I was most disappointed in the shaking beef, being 18 dollars and getting about 10 pieces of beef that couldn't be more than 3-4oz all together. The service was great though and i liked the ambiance of the restaurant. I definitely would come again to try other dishes if I am ever back in atlanta, i just wish the prices were a little bit more affordable.

How's the parking situation? Is a deck, a lot, or street? Do i have to pay?

This restaurant is really the best kept secret in Atlanta!…read more My family visited here this week for the first time since around 2014 and, despite our fears that it wouldn't live up to the great experience we had then, they EXCEEDED our expectations. We ordered so much and everything was delicious - nothing below an 8/10 in my opinion. We ordered the seafood spring rolls (8/10), crab benigets (8/10 with a special note of originality), and the shrimp appetizer (10/10). Spring rolls- very crispy and flaky, had the "sea floor" variety of seafood inside, flavorful 3 sauces to go with it Crab beignets- a slightly cheesy and airy beignet with a genius crab dip blend. The whole table was surprised on how good it was. Shrimp appetizer- the best "bang bang" shrimp I've had. Shrimps are very large and has a nice fruit salsa to go with. Everyone at the table loved their entrees but I can only truly speak for the ones I tried. Seafood Curry- I will NEVER eat curry anywhere else! I LOVEEEEE THIS CURRY! All the seafood is so fresh, the curry is so flavorful that I literally slurped the rest off my plate. There was also such a variety of veggies in there that were also very fresh and firm (not soggy). For the price especially, you get sooooo much and with such a thoughtful recipe. According to our waitress, it's the only recipe that hasn't changed since the restaurant opened in 2012! Fried chicken - I didn't try the chicken itself, but I did try the Mac and cheese and greens that came with it. Let me tell you, I am very picky about Mac and cheese and this rivals the best Mac and cheese I've had in Atlanta (toast on Lenox)! The greens were also fantastic and flavorful, but a little on the sweet side if that's what your preference is. For dessert, all 4 of us shared one slice of the suspension cake and couldn't even finish it! It was ginormous (literally the size of your head). I won't even go into details- just order it! The ambiance is so intimate and unique- not feeling like an "uptight" boujie restaurant, but curated and thoughtful. They have very nice seating outdoor that is enclosed as well as a beautiful bar area. Lastly, the service is fantastic. I genuinely can't recall my waitresses name, but they speak so highly of the head chef (Calvin) and most have worked there 8+ years, so it really feels like home. I write this review with hesitance because I want this place to remain a secret, but how could I not brag! Book the reservation!

I know there is parking for the shops and restaurants that were closer but I took the first spot I saw. I did like that the restrooms were gender neutral. The patio has plenty of plants. The outdoor patio seems to be set up for larger parties. I ordered the Shandong braised chicken, a dish presented with its protein resting atop a glossy sauce and a generous scattering... ten or more pieces of accompanying dough. In theory, this bread should serve as both sponge and companion, absorbing the depth of the braise and rounding the dish into comfort. In practice, it was profoundly compromised. The dough was unmistakably moldy, visibly, undeniably so. This alone is alarming in any dining establishment; it signals a breakdown not just in execution, but in fundamental kitchen vigilance. More troubling than the oversight itself was the response. When the issue was brought to the attention of the waiter, the reaction suggested familiarity rather than concern as though such an occurrence fell within the realm of the expected. There was no urgency, no visible embarrassment, no effort to meaningfully rectify the moment. The tone felt faintly dismissive. The effect on the room was immediate: the couple seated ahead of us, having witnessed the exchange, opted against ordering an entrée at all. That, in itself, speaks volumes. There were, however, redeeming elements. The spicy beef was well-prepared, delivering heat with balance rather than bravado. The diced potatoes were excellent, crisp at the edges, tender within, and seasoned with confidence. These dishes hinted at a kitchen capable of competence, even finesse, when fundamentals align. The atmosphere added an unexpected layer. Spa music drifted through the dining room an odd choice for a meal that aims to be bold and hearty, creating a tonal dissonance that never quite resolved. Service hovered in the realm of "acceptable," buoyed largely by polite refrains of "yes sir" and "no ma'am," though these formalities felt more like compensation for a lack of true attentiveness than genuine hospitality. I would not go so far as to discourage anyone from dining here. There is promise, and there are flashes of real quality. But I would offer this advice plainly and without drama: inspect your food carefully. Mold has no place on the plate, and until that reality is treated with the seriousness it demands, the experience remains compromised no matter how good the potatoes may be.
