The Bolillo here is the best , it will not turn hard like other bakeries. Only down side is the lady with the blonde hair thats almost always there. She gets so upset when she has to do her job . Sadly, I didn't take any pictures for this bakery. But what I can tell you is that this is the best Panaderia I've ever purchased bread from. You have to go early in the morning to get the best selection, but even by the afternoon there's still a good selection of bread to pick from and it's still delicious, and tastes so good! My favorite thing from this bakery is actually the vanilla marble cake. It comes in a long slab with a layer of fudgy icing and chocolate chips on top and when I tell you, it's the bees knees oh my goodness. It's a moist vanilla cake swirl with a brownie batter like swirl. It's just the slightest bit crisp on the bottom and ends but still fudgy dense and moist. That light layer of chocolate icing and the chocolate chips...really sets it off! Even just thinking about it while I write this review, I feel like getting in the car and driving over there for a slice! up . The service was OK it's a small bakery with one person behind the counter so you're being served as you would in a homely setting, not in a commercial establishment.In my opinion it just makes the food taste that much better! I purchased a few breads and a bolillo. All good. My favorite is a bread called "el nino enrollado" which normally comes with strawberry jam and coconut flakes. I think their version has raspberry jam and sweetened coconut flakes. It was amazing! I also noticed some of their breads are supersized, which I have seen nowhere else. Local Panaderia, Mexican bakery with classic Mexican sweet breads, cakes, and desserts. You walk in and racks of fresh baked Concha and Bolio waiting for you to grab them. The air is filled with that distinct baked goods smell but with cinnamon mixed in making it identifiable as Mexican even with your eyes closed. They have a unique drink here called a Champurrado. It's a very thick Mexican hot-chocolate made with cinnamon, cloves, star anise, and Mexican chocolate. Worth trying as its a pretty hard to find drink and has cool historical origins, in my romanticized imagination this is a drink that fills ancient Aztec and Maya with warmth and fire before a big battle or traditional ritual. Pan Dulces: Concha had that nice crispy cookie-like top layer, it was fresh and not old, crispy layer stays stuck on and doesn't collapse off after one bite. I saw the bolio mentioned in a review, its like a plain mexican french-bread. Interesting dipped in the champurrado and I made a ham, egg, cheese mini sandwich at home with it and it was pretty good. If you are not a Spanish speaker a lot of the food is self-serve. If you are looking for anything in particular its easy to just show an image on your phone or type it out in Spanish and they can help you. Easier payment process if you just bring cash. read more

Mission: purchase 2 dozen mini-Conchas Opened up the pan dulce display case and proceeded to gently press the concha. It wasn't as soft as desired but the lady attendant advised they were fresh. I did not want to purchase from this batch because our gathering was in a few hours. I then spotted a rolling rack with a fresh batch of Conchas in the back kitchen. I asked the lady if I can select from that batch and she denied me. She advised this batch was for tomorrow. Does this mean their bread isn't made fresh daily? As a consumer, I should be able to purchase your best offerings. I guess she has no interest in trying to gain a customer or keep one. What a shame because I had previously purchased bolillo from them and they were good. Ended up just buying one of those Mexican cookies so I wouldn't walk out empty handed. I feel bad posting this review, but I feel I have to. I ordered a cake for my daughter and it was huge. I didn't order such a big cake. We didn't even get a box and when we asked for one we were told they didn't have any. Lol wtf I thought this was a bakery. Seriously, I'm still laughing because the cake was so big, like a 2 tier wedding cake but it was supposed to be a 10". When I went in, There was no one at the front so I had to go knock where everyone was working in the kitchen. The cake didn't taste very good and the cream coloring smelled like Home Depot paint. When I went to pick up my cake this weekend she was absolutely so rude!! I ask for a cake board box, she refused to give me one she said " we don't give those here" when I have came with my mom the lady's husband has always given us the cake in board box. The cashiers both morning and afternoon shift are always with ugly attitudes non helpful. To a certain point mean to older Hispanics. I didn't have a good experience ordering a cake from here. The customer service is very poor. I feel ripped off. I phoned in a cake order and the woman who answered did not want to take my order: told me to just show up and choose something or order when I'm there. Then she agreed to take my order over the phone, I wanted a tres leches cake for my co-worker's going away party. I asked if they could just make the cake look like an envelope. You know, a rectangle with a triangle drawn down the middle. Immediately I'm told that it's too complicated. They tell me to send them a picture, then call me back saying that it's too complicated. Then when they finally (supposedly) understood what I was asking for they agreed, and asked me what flavor I wanted the cake to be, and how big, etc. I tell them I want the tres leches with the cake vanilla flavor, custard filling, in the smallest size. (Because they where asking me all these things) They tell me they cannot do small size for tres leches. That's ok with me. We do the whole sheet cake size and they charge me $45 over the phone in advance. I came to pick up and it took awhile before me and my friend saw an employee. Finally a woman comes out and is giving me dirty looks and basically asking if I needed help in a condescending tone. I let her know I'm there to pick up the cake I ordered. And then she's looking at me like I'm crazy or stupid or something and then decides to ask in the back. They got my name wrong over the phone so it took them a minute to figure it out. Then they bring out the cake, with no box. And it looks like a normal sheet cake with the second layer cut into a triangle and stacked on top of the first layer like an abstract staircase. I immediately say this isn't what I wanted, and there must've been miscommunication because I ordered a tres leches over the phone. The woman begins insisting in a condescending tone that it's what I ordered. Pulling out the cake order paper saying that originally I did order a tres leches, but then I wanted vanilla cake flavor and that's different...insinuating that I ordered wrong. Which made me realize she was the same woman over the phone. Who was asking me the cake flavor and filling I wanted after I had repeated myself numerous times about wanting it to be a tres leches. And we had to ask for the cake to be boxed like it wasn't common sense. They expected us to be happy and carry away an exposed sheet cake into a vehicle like that wasn't going to make a mess. I'm disappointed at how unprofessional and disappointing this whole experience was on multiple levels. They told me it would still taste good. Well it was a dry vanilla cake on the top and the custard filling didn't reach to edge pieces of the sheet, and there was so much frosting. Overall it was an average tasting thing and I'm going into a supermarket tomorrow for my coworker to have something decently nice instead of that embarrassing cake. I just fed this cake to whoever was hungry at my store today, and I'm not coming back here. I don't recommend this place to anyone Not for the food. Definitely not for the service. And absolutely nothing for any type of event. It's really is too complicated for these people. That's their slogan here. read more

The bread there is definitely not fresh. There's been plenty of times that I have gotten bread that is rock hard, microwaving it doesn't even make it a bit soft. Today was a horrible experience. Same thing as usual except this time I actually got a refund because not just one type of bread I ordered that wasn't fresh, it was the whole bag. Two things happened which both were extremely rude in my opinion. She made indirect comments saying who knows where I get my bread that I expect it to be like it was fresh out of the oven, and that certain types of bread there aren't going to be soft. I get that, but this bread was hard to the center, the concha's, the muffins, even the soft parts of some of the semi firm bread was rock hard. At the end of the refund , she got the money and threw it on the counter with the coins almost falling off. Definitely not going back after this experience read more

She proceeded to say it was too much. She told me I had to purchase my own decor on the cupcakes they don't do that. She charged me $35 dollars for 24 cupcakes and when I finally took it home to try with family members the chocolate tasted like brownies which was ok. I have been coming to this bakery for years. I lived in Fullerton for about 5 years when I was younger and this was always my family's go to spot for any fresh Mexican bread or for any birthday cakes. I believe they changed ownership about 4-5years ago, but nonetheless the quality of the bread has not changed. We used to visit every year to purchase their mocha tres leche cakes. They're delicious! There's no point in purchasing a dry tres leches cake and they don't skimp on the milk portion of it! Their bread is delicious as well. They always have delicious pastries with a fresh creamy custard filling. Plus they have a huge selection of Mexican pastries. They might not have state of the art equipment or the highest of service, but the owner is very down to earth and their food is as authentic as it gets. read more
