Mexican bread & pastries
Barbieejo A.

Nice quaint shop. They're always super friendly and happy you came in. The bread is such a variety. From sweet to savory. Also cafe de olla. Cakes are made here also as well as gelatin. The bread stays fresh for a few days. That's what I love about it, it doesn't get hard fast. Even tho there's not much time to have any leftovers.

Champurrado thick hot chocolate drink

Local Panaderia, Mexican bakery with classic Mexican sweet breads, cakes, and desserts. You walk in and racks of fresh baked Concha and Bolio waiting for you to grab them. The air is filled with that distinct baked goods smell but with cinnamon mixed in making it identifiable as Mexican even with your eyes closed. They have a unique drink here called a Champurrado. It's a very thick Mexican hot-chocolate made with cinnamon, cloves, star anise, and Mexican chocolate. Worth trying as its a pretty hard to find drink and has cool historical origins, in my romanticized imagination this is a drink that fills ancient Aztec and Maya with warmth and fire before a big battle or traditional ritual. Pan Dulces: Concha had that nice crispy cookie-like top layer, it was fresh and not old, crispy layer stays stuck on and doesn't collapse off after one bite. I saw the bolio mentioned in a review, its like a plain mexican french-bread. Interesting dipped in the champurrado and I made a ham, egg, cheese mini sandwich at home with it and it was pretty good. If you are not a Spanish speaker a lot of the food is self-serve. If you are looking for anything in particular its easy to just show an image on your phone or type it out in Spanish and they can help you. Easier payment process if you just bring cash.

It's been a few years since I've been back. There is nothing too much to update, but it is still a bit stale . People are unattentive, and the location still seems to be in disarray. Beyond that, bread is good quality.

A beautiful fluffy fresh bolio

Best bolios in town, maybe in all of OC. I know that's a bold statement given all of the Mexican baker's in the area. But, I have been in search of the perfect Bolio and have found it. Rubens bakery on Harbor Blvd in Fullerton has the biggest, freshest bolios I've ever had. Perfect for tortas or just with a cup of Abuelitas Mexican hot chocolate. It's a must try. You won't regret it.

Horrible blending looks like someone bite into it. This picture was taken at the bakery before I took it.

My mom has always came here for cakes, so she got my babyshower cake here. Just that the owner of the bakery wife always seems to have an issue with us or I don't know if she's naturally rude. When I went to pick up my cake this weekend she was absolutely so rude!! I ask for a cake board box, she refused to give me one she said " we don't give those here" when I have came with my mom the lady's husband has always given us the cake in board box. Now for what the price of the cake it was not worth it, the blending was horrible, the cake was very dry and the bread of the cake taste burnt. Really disappointed definitely won't be going back due too HORRIBLE SERVICE and Quality

Nice little bakery, found my kids birthday cake here last min. Customer service was great.

Couldn't resist biting it totally forgot to take a pic before

Love love love the bolillos here they are by far the fluffiest I've ever had! It's a hidden gem really I've tried other local bakeries but always come back to this one the bread is just always so moist. The strawberry and cream pastry which the baker referred to as a strawberry empanada is scrumptious I very much enjoy eating it with some coffee they usually sell out fast but when they don't I grab a couple!

Whenever we're in town, we come here for the fresh soft bolillo. This is a classic neighborhood bakery, worth seeking out.

I love this place to much. This place is my childhood. I would drive 100 miles to get their pan. Too bad it has since closed down.

I grabbed the Strawberry Matcha cake slice, and it looked absolutely beautiful. I was on my lunch break, so I didn't get a chance to try more, but everything in the display looked amazing. They had so many cake selections, plus pastries and drinks, which definitely makes me want to come back and actually spend more time there. Even though it was super busy, the service was impressively fast and efficient. One employee helped take my order and package everything up, and the cashier rang me up quickly, so the whole process was seamless and perfect when you're on a lunch break. The atmosphere felt very family-friendly, and despite how busy it was, the experience was still smooth. Parking is free, there's a small lot directly in front, but if that fills up, there's additional parking in the connected plaza, which makes it easy. I didn't get to try the cake but brother-in-law and sister said the cake was delicious. If you're in the Fullerton area and looking for a cute dessert spot with lots of options, this is definitely worth checking out!

The location of…read morethis well-known Japanese/French bakery was unusual in that it's isolated in a corner of the El Camino Plaza. I had expected the business to be in a more high volume area, however a benefit of their corner spot was that the parking lot had plenty of spaces. There's no indoor seating, but outdoor tables were set up along the north and east perimeters of the building. I was by myself at this latest visit, and it was close to the end of the day so the inventory was quite depleted. There was no line at all which was not a surprise. The famous Strawberry Croissants and prepackaged items were on refrigerated display to the left when you walked in. As the service counter rounded a corner, there were more fresh baked goods on display before you reached a register. Across from the registers were shelves containing bags of fresh bread products. I bought a Strawberry Croissant, a Sticky Bun, a Ham and Cheese Croissant, and an Apple Croissant. The quality of the pastry dough was very good, and I could see why the Strawberry Croissant was a favorite with the customers. The croissants were light and flakey, and the powdered sugar added a delicate topping to the strawberry version. If I were to rate on just the Strawberry Croissant, then it would be five stars. My overall rating was downgraded because of the customer traffic flow. The lines can be optimized so that if you wanted to buy a six-pack of the Strawberry Croissants and/or anything prepackaged, then a separate queue should be arranged for those customers. The cafeteria trays were of limited use if you were not getting a large number of items. As you advanced in the queue, other products had to be requested from a worker behind the counter and then those were not placed on the tray. Ultimately, I think they can configure the operation to more efficiently handle the higher volume periods of the day.

For this first trip, I found myself enchanted by the more traditional Korean pastries - the sweet potato creamy red bean bun, the curry croquette, the salt breads and rice crackers (one of their most popular items they said.) Most everything costs between $3-5. What a steal! I ordered their new item -- a banana latte made with their own banana syrup and cold foam to go with a double shot of espresso. It was tasty though seeing the old timers with their hot brewed coffees and bean buns made me wish I'd gotten something hot too. All in all, I had a great time at Cafe Bleu and can't wait to come back and try some new things. There are lots of tables and plenty of room to meet up with friends or work or do your homework.

One thing to note for anyone with nut allergies: although the ingredient label only listed almonds, there seemed to be other nuts present as we experienced an allergic reaction despite not being allergic to almonds.

I had never tried Botox before in my life, but I decided to get it for the first time yesterday as well. I don't think the results have shown yet, so I'm planning to post a review once they do. Since we were already in Orange County, we stopped by a bakery at the Source Mall. I bought several pastries there. The fresh cream bread was very delicious. I didn't try the custard cream bread because my younger brothers ate it, so I can't really comment on the taste. I also haven't tried the pecan pie yet. Lately, Dubai chocolate cookies have been extremely popular and trendy, so I asked whether this bakery had them. They said yes, so I bought one for $6.75. However, when I tried it this morning, it was absolutely not a Dubai chocolate cookie. It was basically just a chocolate pie. There was no pistachio flavor at all, and no pistachios inside--just a very ordinary chocolate pie. That part was extremely disappointing. Also, yesterday I asked the bakery if they could provide paper plates so we could cut and share the pastries, but she said they didn't have any. Other bakeries usually provide paper plates, so it was disappointing as well.
