Nothing has changed. Something just feels off with the T-shirts they stock from my experience. I have purchased some of the same shirts online from other vendors to see how they fit in comparison-they haven't arrived yet. Me and my service dog were denied access to the store. I went in to get my medical alert dog a…read moreRutgers bandana but when we walked in a woman (I'm guessing an employee or shift manager) said they don't allow dogs. I told her he was a service dog and she said he wasn't because he wasn't wearing a vest. I told her it wasn't required for a dog to wear a vest. She said that it was and that they didn't allow dogs because they pee in the store. I told her that that wasn't a properly trained service dog then and that my dog had never peed in any establishment. Then she went on to tell me I couldn't bring my dog in because she had her 16 year old dog in the store and her dog has a medical condition. I told her again that it was against the law to deny access to a service animal. She said without proper paperwork she wouldn't let me in. I informed her that there is no such legal documentation nor is it legal to ask for documentation and that by ADA laws you can ask 2 questions: "is this a service animal and required because of a disability?" And "what work or task has this animal been trained to preform?" This information is posted prominently on the ADA.gov website and is easily accessible. She asked me the questions and I told her that he was a medical alert dog trained for cardiac alert and she said that's not real. I once again informed her that denying us access was illegal. She told me that it was just store policy and she's just an employee. So my dog and I left. I didn't see it posted anywhere that only service animals were allowed. Until they inform themselves of the law and inform their employees I cannot recommend going to this store. (Also why is your 16 year old dog allowed to be in the store but my service animal isn't??)

They aren't too expensive but aren't cheap too. They always keep their shelves stocked well and I personally haven't run into a situation not finding what I came in for. We have got table tennis bats, balls and few sports wears here and haven't had any complaints so far. Most of the time chains like these set a standard and only thing that can stick out like a sore thumb is customer service. This DICKs doesn't have that problem, luckily.

I had a horrible experience this Christmas at this store. I had purchased two gift cards for $150…read more each, so I spent $300 in their store. When the receivers of our gifts (a husband and wife) went to spend the gift cards there they were told that one had a balance of "Zero" already. When I asked to speak to the manager, the manager told me to take it up with Customer Service myself, and I was directed to them myself! But how could this resolve the problem since they can't see me or my receipt in person? And why wasn't this their problem right there at the store since they had sold the cards to me? I had given the gift receiver my paid receipt; fortunately! What they alluded to was that the card had already been used, which was ludicrous. What an embarrassing scene this was for the gift-receiver standing their at the cash register and for me when she called me to tell me there was a problem. Again, I insisted l speak to the manager on her phone right then and there as the receiver of my gift stood there at the cash register. When I did, I insisted she handle the problem right then and there, and not put it back on me. Very eventually they did solve the problem but only after I insisted. I was told that they eventually found the $150. card that I should have been given, somewhere in their store and it had been canceled. They just wanted me to go away; but I wouldn't. Good thing I was persistent in insisting they handle this. I will never again purchase any thing for myself or anyone else in this store. Beware of purchasing gift cards. They have left me with the impression that they can't hire and train their employees in such a way that they can serve their clients properly. Cash only from now on and anywhere else. Can you imagine how frustrating this was for both the giver and the receiver. The gift receiver walked out of the store with nothing to purchase that day even though the issue with the card was cleared up. Why? Because while she was standing there at the register so long, they put all her merchandise back. If I hadn't spoke to the manager myself I'm certain she would have had to walk out of there without her new properly credited $150 gift card as well. She was forced to leave empty handed as she had spent so much time there already that she was late for a very important appointment. I'm still livid. How humiliating. Winter gear almost all out in February, so end of season and clearance sales on some items, but not others (same snow bib for women was on sale, the men's version - not on sale? guess it's about how many they've sold?). Didn't really find any ski socks of note. Some jackets on sale. And some weird jelly bean flavors. Skip the bubble tea version, they taste terrible. Bike and ski services in the back. Prices aren't too bad, so hopefully would be smooth to get service. Will bring back my bike later this year to see what they can do about a sticky lower gear.

I liked and enjoyed the shopping but the staff either get heat from their corporate people (which is probably the case) or are just very unhappy. I've always browsed around here every now and then during lunch, but never bothered to undergo the full experience of doing a fit test and all of the fixins. This time around, I didn't want to mess around so I did the proper routine. Of course, the benefit of coming here on a weekday is that you don't have to wait very long to do the fit test and try on sneakers. With their help, I did finally decide on a sneaker to buy, although it admittedly took me a few extra days to make the purchase. However, the service was spectacular, prompt, and attentive in my eyes. The prices are what you'd expect from a running shoe store. I did splurge a little extra for custom insoles. In the limited time I've begun to wear my new shoes, I've noticed the difference. For me, the decision was easy because I was able to utilize my HSA employer-contributions from my previous job against it. By default, I was enrolled as a VIP member. I probably won't stick around with the membership, but it's good to have it for your initial purchase.
