I had a horrible experience this Christmas at this store. I had purchased two gift cards for $150. each, so I spent $300 in their store. When the receivers of our gifts (a husband and wife) went to spend the gift cards there they were told that one had a balance of "Zero" already. When I asked to speak to the manager, the manager told me to take it up with Customer Service myself, and I was directed to them myself! But how could this resolve the problem since they can't see me or my receipt in person? And why wasn't this their problem right there at the store since they had sold the cards to me? I had given the gift receiver my paid receipt; fortunately! What they alluded to was that the card had already been used, which was ludicrous. What an embarrassing scene this was for the gift-receiver standing their at the cash register and for me when she called me to tell me there was a problem. Again, I insisted l speak to the manager on her phone right then and there as the receiver of my gift stood there at the cash register. When I did, I insisted she handle the problem right then and there, and not put it back on me. Very eventually they did solve the problem but only after I insisted. I was told that they eventually found the $150. card that I should have been given, somewhere in their store and it had been canceled. They just wanted me to go away; but I wouldn't. Good thing I was persistent in insisting they handle this. I will never again purchase any thing for myself or anyone else in this store. Beware of purchasing gift cards. They have left me with the impression that they can't hire and train their employees in such a way that they can serve their clients properly. Cash only from now on and anywhere else. Can you imagine how frustrating this was for both the giver and the receiver. The gift receiver walked out of the store with nothing to purchase that day even though the issue with the card was cleared up. Why? Because while she was standing there at the register so long, they put all her merchandise back. If I hadn't spoke to the manager myself I'm certain she would have had to walk out of there without her new properly credited $150 gift card as well. She was forced to leave empty handed as she had spent so much time there already that she was late for a very important appointment. I'm still livid. How humiliating. I like this place but the soccer section is trashed on and it's so dirty especially where the goalie gloves are.

I'd stay this store has improved quite a bit in the last few months in terms of staffing and stock. The sections are well-stocked and there are a good number of people roaming around who are available to answer questions or direct you to something. I would caution that the staff aren't necessarily knowledgeable about things like running wear, so take what they recommend with a grain of salt. The checkout line tends to be long but it moves quickly. They also offer curbside pickup, if you purchase things ahead of time. One thing I don't care for is that the store is organized by brand instead of by type of item. It's a bit annoying since I go in looking for socks, for example, not for "Nike". I'd rather find all the socks in one place rather than having to visit the sock display of 6 different brand names. read more

No, I'm not going to unleash a snarky riff on the store's unfortunate name but grade school snickering aside, Dick's is fantastic if you know exactly what you want as the help is usually up to pointing you in the right direction but are far less adroit at consultive sales - although there are exceptions most noticeably in the high margin departments like golf and tennis. The store has an extensive collection of team gear with prices across departments routinely at or near MSRP. However, if you can catch something on sale (think major holidays) the savings are significant. Dick's is about as good as it gets in the high turnover world of modern retail, which I know isn't saying much but there are far worse examples. I've shopped here a few times but I guess that was in my pre Yelp life. I stopped in recently for fishing tackle. There was a large tent sale going on in the parking lot, and inside the store seemed to be gearing up for BTS shopping. The gentleman overseeing that dept was a huge help in locating the specific items I needed, had he not been on hand it wound have taken me quite some time to find everything, mainly due to the large selection. None of these items were on sale, and I really am not sure how these prices compare with other hunting/ fishing stores. I did notice good prices throughout the rest of the store, but mostly on brands I don't purchase. Truth be told I shop for this type of clothing at 2 other local outdoor stores, those 2 don't really carry the sports items, except for bikes and kayaks. There was a slight snafu in the checkout line, they were not very quick to open another register. I just patiently waited. I'll return when I need more fishing gear, and shop at competitors for shoes and clothing. read more

I went online and found several kayak's i was interested in. The sales associate, Will, was extremely helpful. He answered all my questions, let me try out, sit in, the kayak's i was interested in. I was there for about an hour and he helped get the best kayak for me and my needs. After he offered to help carry the kayak to the front and even offered to help put the kayak on my car. I rejected the offer but it made me feel like he went above and beyond. Very friendly, patient, and helpful. read more

This is a great store, which is odd because I don't like sports! However, I do really like this store! They have more than just sporting goods stuff here, and the value is really good! I saw a lot of sports equipment, but more than that, I saw they had a lot of stuff for outdoor activities as well. Such as fishing rods, tents, flashlights. They have pretty much everything for every activity. This store is clean, but this location felt very run down, Some aisles were less empty than others, and the store is a little too much spaced out! I don't usually shop at full retail stores, but I was looking for a particular item I knew Dick's had. I found my item, plus more at a great discount. The sale was on selected Reebok workout clothes. When I had to go back to exchange something the process was simply and easy. I also signed up for a free reward card and got 20% off my purchases. I probably will never pay full retail and always look for the sales, but the selection and service are worth the trip. read more

Bought a new mountain bike here after going to several bike shops. They don't sell the real high end bikes however bought an aluminum frame quality bike for under $ 300. The people in the bike department are super nice. They put my bike together, out of the box,with in one hour. They repair what they sell which is great if a repair is needed. Great service, on a week day, in the afternoon. Highly recommend. read more

Mixed. This place suffers from post-pandemic big box store disease - i.e. not enough staff and it's harder to find what I'm looking for than it used to be. Went in to buy padded bike shorts (for use on a stationary bike). Found a display in the back (near where I've found them before) that was ok if you were looking for men's stuff (I'm not male) along with a cart with random bike-like clothing randomly piled in it. No store staff in sight. I left the area. A young man tracked me down (I'll give him kudos for trying), dug through the aforementioned cart for 4 pairs of women's bike shorts in different sizes (Large to youth (even though I said I was looking for small) and opened a fitting room. One pair fit (the small). Went back to the disaster cart and found one other pair (a "liner") in women's small. Went to checkout. Shorts were full price (it's not closeout stuff). Not asked anything about how things went or if I had trouble finding anything or anything else like that (like Dick's used to do routinely). The last time I was here (last summer) was almost as bad (I was looking for women's long-sleeved wicking shirts suitable for kayaking or canoeing in the heat). As I was walking out empty-handed, a female salesperson talked to me and located some Patagonia shirts that fit the bill (and which I bought.) The floor staff that are there are trying to do their jobs, but inventory, stocking, or even presence on the floor is not good. For ladies barre tights and the like I shop at Athleta. For basic womens sports gear I used to look to Dicks. I'm done with that. P.S. Rumor has it that Dick's is going to sell Peloton gear. I don't think this is going to end well. read more

This is an awesome sporting goods store, really doesn't get much better than this. First of all, its huge. They have everything you could ever want and more. I got a pair of shoes, an awning for my outdoors, rollerskates, and pair of pants in the same store. What?! Plus they make the buying experience pretty fun. There are a bunch of TV's around the store that broadcast games that are currently being played. Theres a big score board at the center of the store and the ambience just makes the whole experience a pleasant one. I've also had a really easy time using coupons and returning items. They have a policy on tennis rackets that they will match any offer on the same product. I found an online store that offered the racquet I wanted at a significantly lower price and they really had no problems matching it when I brought proof of the deal. Seriously no complaints whatsoever except the parking lot. It's kind of just in a weird area which can get a little confusing but other than that you're set. If you need a sporting goods store, I definitely recommend Dick's. read more

Can't complain, as its one of the bigger places near me with a full selection of gear and apparel at their recommended prices. If you look hard enough, you can score some dope, dope stuff. Every year I go to Dicks to get my fishing and hunting licenses and Dicks messes it up every year This year I applied for hunting license, fishing license , 1st turkey lottery application and 2nd turkey lottery application. I get the printed licenses and they only show the 1st turkey lottery not the second. I immediately question them, the salesman says as long as I have a stub showing the 1st lottery, I can be assured that the 2nd lottery is included. I again question it, as I have no receipt for the 2nd lottery. A woman salesman checks in and says the same thing . The so-called supervisor checks in and say the same thing. I get home, call the State and they say I only have the 1st lottery application. Leave it to Dicks to screw things up. read more

Worst customer service I've ever seen from a DICK's Sporting Goods store. My curbside pickup order took longer than a hour and as I was calling to figure out how long I had to wait additionally, I was shown attitude and arrogance from one of the consultants. They then proceeded to tell me that there was nothing they could do about my order when all I asked for was an update. I then went into the store to figure out why there was a delay and was greeted by a nice young lady (not sarcasm she was genuinely nice). The manager walked over and asked me if I had a curbside pick-up and I replied yes but never received email confirmation when it's supposed to be 1-hour pickup. He then immaturely kept repeating "Do you have email confirmation" two to three times before I could get a word out. An anonymous associate told me while I was in my car that it was not busy to the point where I had to wait that long in my vehicle. I explained to him that I've been waiting in the car for approximately a hour and a half and simply wanted an update on my order. He told me he was unable to provide one and did not see my order (However my confirmation says Nassau Park Blvd DICK's Sporting Goods) and I decided to leave and not give my business to them. I was waiting for a single item (Yeti Cooler) for approximately 2 hours. If I was able to give 0 stars on this app, I would. Order what you need from Amazon, or an alternative store. Eastern Mountain Sports associates in Marketfair were able to sell me the Yeti cooler I was looking for in 1/25th of the time I spent at DICK's. Save yourself the hassle and find an alternative if you're looking for speedy service. read more

I asked for help in the store and the guy sent me to the wrong end of the store so ultimately I had to find my item by myself. Unbelievable. I cannot believe this place is still open. Wow. Got some good deals here while sales were going on. Don't know if I'd buy as much if the sale weren't on. They do have styles and fashions I like thought. Such as Merrell, The North Face, Life Is Good, and Marmot. I also like the selection of (soccer) football fashions by the likes of Adidas and Nike. read more
