Went crabbing today in Bay Head and stopped here to buy a crab trap. They had a bunch of traps…read morestacked outside and I only bought one to see if it was worth it. The crabbing wasn't that great today but the box crab trap was a good one and I will definitely stop back my next trip to pick up another. Trap was good for either chicken or bunker. At $15 the price was right too........ While i didn't go shopping for anything else they seemed to have everything you would need for fishing or crabbing for sale inside. The woman at the register was friendly and polite. Maybe next time I could actually catch something more than a sunburn.

When hotels in Seaside Heights were too expensive, we decided to take our camper out to Cedar Creek. Although it's usually a four night minimum, Cedar Creek kindly accommodated us for two nights. Upon arriving, I realized we were way out of our comfort zone. A lot of these people are "seasonal" campers and camp here for months at a time. I was blown away with some of the setups these people had - one even had a bar! Our neighbors welcomed us when we pulled up to our spot and helped us unload. It was a very warm welcome. We did a quick drive around the campsite and saw a pool, a fire pit for s'mores, playgrounds, kayaks and canoes. It totally took me back to "The Parent Trap". I appreciated the 24-hour security. Everyone took their job seriously and made us feel safe. It truly was a fun experience and I'm looking forward to camping her for many years to come!

Bathrooms were also decent for communal bathrooms and very quiet. I think the fact that we were mostly among RVs made a difference in the bathrooms not being terrible. I also discovered there are more private individual toilets and showers by the pool and main building which was nice too. We went canoeing which was fine but the creek is probably best navigated via kayak. Canoes especially are hard to steer with small children and the creek was very narrow, twisty and turny with tons of low lying branches and trees. I wasn't a huge fan TBH but YMMV. We loved that it was very quiet, not too crowded and so close to civilization. We opted not to cook on site this trip and it was fine since there is so much nearby. My favorite part was hiking and I want to come back just to explore more!! Definitely recommend if you are looking for a nice weekend that is not too far away (we are from Long Island) but feels like you are away from it all!!

Since when did dicks stop given out the youth football discount??!??!?!?…read more My son has played on the golden Eagels in Bayville since he was 5... every year I come to dicks to get new cleats, practice pants, cups, mouth guards, occasional a new duffle bag to keep helmet and shoulder pads in, undershirts, water bottles, etc... Every year I mention the football league and they give me a discount, until I went in Monday night 7/29/24. The floor assistance wasn't too bad I did manage to find someone to help me w cleats and a dressing room but when I asked where a product is they had no idea or pointed me in a different direction. Which isn't a big deal but I left never finding football socks there was a small wall of soccer socks but no football anyways.. I begin to check out and while I'm checking out I asked the woman at the register if she can't give me the youth football discount, she immediately tells me no because they only give out physical coupons now without it she has nothing to scan... so I said ok hold on let me call the league because this has never happened before... they never give us in person coupons.. the person I got ahold of said they requested a discount code a few days before that Microsoft crash and that affected dicks so there still waiting for a response but even they told me just tell her the name of the team which I did this woman just had a nasty attitude.. I don't get it it's not coming out of your pay check I know they have scannable coupons at the register I've seen them beep them before. It's shame she's not willing to help a single mom buying my kid football stuff.. it gets worse tho she tells me my total.... 500$ what the hell... so I start looking over everything I got items were coming up more money on their computer system then I says on the tags! You would think after almost over charging me had I just swiped my card she would give me a discount.. nope she just said she didn't look at the tag prices she just scanned them and left them at the price they came up... so she fixed it and put the correct price in but that was so annoying I told her I'm holding onto the receipt so I can get a price adjustment once I get my discount code. After completing my order an automated response was generated advising me that I would get an email when the I item was ready to ship with a tracking number. I had the item sent to my office to make sure it was left with a person not on my porch. I never received a tracking code. On 1/7/20 I had not received the shirt so I emailed the shop and got the following reply on 1/8/20: "That shipped on the 23rd of Dec. The tracking said it arrived on the 30th. Once it landed I got rid of the postal receipt which had the tracking. im heading over the bridge in the a.m. to the main postal office and see if they can help locate it by date. I'll let you know". I never received the shirt. After the above message none off my emails were responded to. I tried calling but never got a person to answer. I asked about a tracking number or a refund or having another shirt sent and received no answer. Really unimpressed with this shop.
