Admittedly, the young man is tall and thin (6'3", 160 lbs.), but to have only two dark colored suits on the rack was disappointing to say the least. In fact, they had nothing in his size. Our salesperson did her best to make something work, by mixing and matching pants and jacket in one size larger to approximate his actual measurements. Ultimately, we were able to determine the right sizes, which then had to be ordered for shipping to our home. Luckily, I know a guy good with needle and thread. The shop seemed to have plenty of dress shirts and ties, as well as a reasonable supply of casual ware. Yet, they were bereft of more formal work clothes for the professionals in the crowd. Don't know if this is a decision by management based on actual marketing data, or just a supply chain issue, but given that this brand used to advertise to the well dressed male, it is hard to comprehend how far from that image Men's Warehouse has fallen. Perhaps, this is more evidence of new pandemic workplace realities, but some people still have to go to work and dress for success. I was visiting Wilmington, DE this past week on a business trip. Before I left, I researched men's…read moreclothiers in the area and found Wright and Simon. It was half of a block from my hotel, so I decided to stop in and see what they had to offer. The shop has two entrances, one on Market St. and another on Shipley, the Store cuts through the entire block. I recommend the entrance on Marker St. It has a vestibule with display windows on either side. It gives you the opportunity to take a look at what they have to offer before entering. Once inside, I met Leonard Simon. I found him as well as the in house tailor (who, I am sorry to say, I can not recall his name) welcoming and helpful. Mr. Simon assisted me choose two pairs of Bills Khakis. One pair he had in stock and the other he had to order from the factory. The tailor sized the pants for cuffs while Mr. Simon called Bills Khakis to order the second pair. I was flying back home the next day and was assured the pair of pants they had on hand would be ready by 11:00 AM, and sure enough they were. I have purchased a lot of pants in my time that needed to be tailored, but I have NEVER had a 24 hour turn around on tailoring. That is aces in my book. For the second pair, they are keeping my size on file and will mail them to me when after being cuffed. This is the best service I have had in a men's store and I am sad that this is a rare thing in San Francisco. Now it needs to be said, one of by biggest issues, and IMHO grandest failings in men's shops is an air of superiority by the staff. For some reason stores such as Brooks Brothers, Wilkes Bashford (in San Francisco) and others tend to look down their noses at you, as if they are doing you a favor just letting you past the entrance. This is NOT the case with Wright and Simon. I found no pretensions here, they are helpful and appreciate your business. They also have a fantastic selection of suits, sport coats, overcoats and the like for you to peruse. For their pricing I chose "Moderate" and think this is a good description. If you are used to shopping at a department store or at the local mall for clothing and you walk in to Wright and Simon you will find this place expensive, but if you are used to purchasing fine men's clothing, you will find this place par for the course. Also, Delaware has no sales tax, and this should be taken in to account when discussing price. All in all, this is one of those stores where you will look better walking out of then you did walking in. I am looking forward to my next visit to Wilmington, DE. I think I need a new suit.

It does not carry a ton of design and sizes, but it offers enough variety to make the occasional visit worthwhile. This store is the sister of a larger traditional Gap in the Village of Newtown Shopping Center. Between the two, and the infrequent run to Old Navy down in Oxford Valley, the Gap Empire is a valuable and visible presence in the community. To take advantage of a special discount offered several years ago, I signed up for a Gap credit card. Since then, I have used it sparingly, but enough to generate "Gap Cash," that can be used in additional to any other sales promotions. Just yesterday, our purchase of $106, became $42 with the exercise of these valuable perks. No complaints from the wallet, nor from the one who thinks me generous to allow her to splurge. Staff is mature here, and everything is low key. Looking forward to tonight.
