Anyway my PCP tried to reassure me that body changes were ok because "not everyone is going to be a Lands End model." Not Victoria's Secret - Lands End lololol I'm so dead. Bless her heart. Such a New Hampshire thing to say lmao. Turns out it was PCOS but it'd take me another 5 years to figure that out. Conversation for another day. Anyway I've come full circle. I've been getting targeted ads on social for cute plus size clothes - spring nauticals and the like. However the ills of capitalism and Ozempic have colluded to steadily decrease the availability of plus size clothing in stores for years. I was STOKED to see Lands End had a brick n mortar with plus sizes in store. The last time I'd seen them was in Sears before they went the way of the dodo. I mean if you're gonna have a regular degular cardigan for $89 I'm gonna need to try it on and feel the material before I part with my coins. We went to this location and while my husband tried on pants I stealthily made my way around the store looking for the plus sizes. I'm still not over the hour drive to Anthropologie in Short Hills a few years ago only to learn they had removed their plus sizes. I wanted to save myself from similar embarrassment and heartbreak here. At first I didn't see any - just a sign on the wall that said Sizes 16w-24w shop online for more selection. As I planned my strongly worded yet classy crash out to corporate, I noticed some plus sizes on the shelf. Mixed in with straight sizes. :GASP: I'm so used to being relegated to a dark corner in the back of the store it didn't occur to me that the clothes would be right in front of my face. Now don't get too hype because the selection was somewhat limited - though they did have the sweater and pants I had seen online. Truthfully though the women's collection in general was a bit limited because they had given over 1/2 the store to women's swimwear. I'm interested to see how the store changes as we get deeper into the season headed towards fall. Everything was 40% off and the sales associates were very friendly. Now that I have a better idea of sizing and material I can shop for other pieces I wanted online with more confidence. I hope they continue to stock plus sizes in store and expand their offerings. In the meantime I'll be swapping my disappointing letter to corporate for an encouraging one.

The new manager, Sabrina or Sarena (I'm not good with names) was extremely attentive, funny and helped her find the perfect dress. Let's face facts people love everything super sized. So they inturn become a tad big to poor food choices. Some of the staff will help you if they are on the floor putting up merchandise but once up at the check out counter, your on your own. Other locations do not even do that. Heck some do not know where some types of stuff is at in the store. I arrived without a reservation with two family members and was placed on the waitlist. At first, everything seemed fine. We spent our time looking around the store while waiting for an available sales associate. As we waited, I noticed several other families arrive after us. However, despite coming in later, they were consistently assigned to sales associates before we were. This happened multiple times, and eventually four different families who had arrived after us were helped before my family. After waiting about 40 minutes, I went to ask the employee managing the waitlist why we kept being passed over. He told me there was no preference for who was helped next and that associates simply took the next customer. Unfortunately, that explanation did not match what I had been watching happen. It honestly felt like we were being overlooked. I'm not sure if the employee assumed that because I wasn't dressed in designer clothing I wasn't there to make a purchase, but appearances should never determine how customers are treated. After waiting for over an hour, an associate finally came to help us. Thankfully, our sales associate was excellent. He was professional, kind, and attentive. He helped me find the perfect Christmas gift for my father, and I also purchased two Clic bracelets and two ties. I wasn't there just to browse--I came intending to make a purchase. This experience was disappointing because no customer should feel as though they are being treated differently based on their appearance. People should understand that dressing casually does not mean someone isn't a customer of luxury brands. While the service from our sales associate ultimately made the experience much better, the way the waitlist was handled left a very negative impression. If you visit this store without an appointment, I recommend paying close attention to your place on the waitlist, as my family was skipped multiple times despite arriving first.
