This is an above-average size Marshall's. It was stocked very well the day we visited. All departments were neat and well organized.

Problem is, the parking lot at this store on the hellish route 1 corridor is a crowded cluster compared to the stores a bit further south. Between than and changing jobs, I can't speak to curbside here. Today's experience involved buying a hat. I'm not much of a hat guy but am heading to a yankee game tomorrow with boo (begrudgingly on her part) and a friend coming down from upstate ny. Figured I'd "cop some merch" as the kids say and they reported having a grey yankee SnapBack hat in stock. Well, they didn't. There was ONE yankee hat buried in the entire area of the sports crap. I found a classic navy blue one amidst the Phillie hats, grabbed it, and got the hell out (after paying of course). Well, upon closer inspection the hat had some damage on the back that I didn't catch in the store. It was a discoloration that wouldn't "buff out." Fortunately I caught this while still in the parking lot, and it was a breeze to go in and return it for a refund. The cashier (and line) was quick, friendly and didn't even make me swipe my credit card again to process the return. So it's a decent store. If you live/work around here you know to expect chaos. Be careful in the parking lot and on the drive to and from, and your target experience should be as decent as any other. A cut above Walmart..."always!"

When I asked her to take the item back to the shelf to get the actual price, she did not initially want to even bring the item with her. When I finally found the price tag had stuck to my purse while this cashier was away in the aisles looking for my price, she came back with the incorrect price $45 ($15 more than my item). When I gave the price tag to her, then right in front of herself and her register, she read my item now being $30, which I told her, that was the price, I saw and another Target staff told me. This cashier did not apologize that she was wrong. Or even just to apologize for her mistake at all. I did not think much of her serving the public.

This is the largest shopping center I've been to, and while they do have good stores, it's almost overwhelming how it's set up. For example, you have Target and Michaels on one corner. Drive a little bit to another side, and you have Dollar Tree, Sally Beauty on another corner. Drive to a third corner, and you go to Five Below PetSmart, HomeGoods. Drive more to another corner, and you get the idea. The stores are in all different parts, that you have to drive around to get from one store to the other. You cannot walk, unless if you want to take over your life, and cross US-1. Great stores. Not great layout.

Don't expect top notch department store boutique service. It's more of a warehouse of hidden gems and things. You sort through stuff until you find something. (TJ max, Home sense, Marshall's etc) I came here twice recently because they were one of the few places that carried wine racks. There are several sources online, and most big box stores like Lowe's and HD carry them, but ONLY online. Someone who does frequent places like this alerted me to their existence so I made the effort to look. When I finally found them I was surprised that the size of one was almost perfect, as was the amount of bottles it could hold. In my mind I was picturing all wood, so I decided to look at a sister store, Home Sense, to see if they had others. They had an all wood version that was larger but held fewer bottles. I came back the next day with a shopping cart and purchased the floor model. Here's where I find fault with places like this, surely this item came packaged in a box? Why not keep a few in the boxes so they don't get damaged? There were scuffs on one side, and the distressed wood top had a slight flaw too. And I'm sure as the furniture gets bigger here, there's more of an opportunity for those items to be damaged by other shoppers. The same goes for almost all items, they seem to be haphazardly merchandised and then overstocked. What I was a fan of is the customer service. I needed help on my first visit and the associate I encountered was cheerful and friendly and showed me the secret location. The same was true the next day but by a different employee, and then again at the register by the cashier. I ultimately opened up a credit card to get a 10% off coupon, but I do need a few other things from here so I'll be back. 3.5, nothing personal Yelps

It is neither quaking, nor bridged, nor particularly Quaker, though I did feel a strange spiritual calm while waiting in line at Auntie Anne's, watching dough be twisted into symbols of carbohydrate comfort. Inside, time folds in on itself like a pair of clearance khakis. There are stores selling perfume, gadgets, jeans tight enough to restrict original thought. There's a Cheesecake Factory, which exists on the same moral plane as purgatory: vast, overlit, and full of folks trying to remember what it was they came in for. The mall is clean. The ceilings are high. The escalators move up and down like Sisyphus with a corporate sponsor. No one seems to know why they're there, but they are, floating from JC Penney to Old Navy in a retail daze. The air smells faintly of artificial scents and unspoken longing. There's something poetic about a mall in the 21st century. A living fossil. A place where you can still see teenagers in small herds, clutching bubble tea and dreams. Where old men power-walk past Forever 21, defiant in orthopedic sneakers. Where the Apple Store shines like a sterile shrine to tech-assisted distraction. Three stars. Not because it's bad; it's not. It is precisely what it claims to be: a mall. A decent one. One with enough stores to feel like you might find something, even if you don't know what you're looking for. It would get four stars if it had a decent bookstore. It would get five if it could answer why I felt slightly lonelier when I left than when I arrived.

It is a proper bookstore where you can wander, browse, and briefly pretend the internet isn't actively murdering print media. I also enjoy the little AMC theater, which is perfectly fine as long as you are seeing a movie that does not demand the thunder and spectacle of IMAX. Sometimes a modest screen, a bag of popcorn and a plush recliner are more than enough. The place is rarely crowded, which makes errands feel less like combat and more like a calm agreement between shoppers and time itself. That said, I am hoping something interesting eventually replaces the recently shuttered Bahama Breeze. The space feels like it wants to be fed a new idea. Time will tell whether that happens. Four stars for being pleasant, functional, and quietly resisting extinction. In this era, that feels like an accomplishment.
