This store is huge! If the shoe fits....DSW has lots of shoes and aisles, everything a shoe lover could hope for but nothing you haven't seen in other DSWs. It didn't occur to me to write about the ginormous shoe selections, but I rather to give kudos to the staff. WORKERS here ROCK! They are super nice and helpful and try to get you every discount that is available to you! I have been to different DSWs and the nicest DSW staff is definitely found here! I have been to various ones and out of state too and the staff can't compare! Donations of shoes will earn you points towards your rewards so when you come don't forget to bring a pair! DSW is my go to for all my footwear. I love that there are so many choices to choose from and you can try them on right then and there. If they don't have your size, just ask any associate to have it ship to you for free. I have been on a 2 year hunt for the perfect cowboy boot. I know what style I'm looking for. I have super skinny calves so finding one that my legs do not swim in it has been hard. Today was my lucky day. A pair of cute black ankle cowboy boots stopped me dead in my tracks as I was walking down the aisle. I felt like Cinderella as I slipped it into my feet. PERFECT!!! I had own a pair in my 20s and wore it until it was completely worn out. I look forward to wearing this with shorts, skirts and jeans. I feel like their rewards program used to be better but it is still a good idea to sign up for one. This place is a haven for shoes, sandals and many more accessories for all genders and age categories. We've been a regular to this location for all our new shoes and sandal needs. They have a great collection and offer decent prices. This shop is located at a great location with ample parking space. Make sure you sign up for their Rewards program as they mail you regular coupons. Their return policy is also pretty good. Only recently we found that they offer curbside pickup too. Rating this place a star lesser as you may find staff mostly at the checkout counter only but not to help you with your selections or answer questions. read more

So I came to this location because I've never been here. The setup was pretty standard in that this location has the women and men's shoe section along with the accessories and kids section. I have to be honest, this store was just "ok". There wasn't really anything that caught my eye and although this store was very nice and clean- there wasn't particularly any shoes that I was interested in. The area itself was very convenient in that it was in a small shopping area with other stores and there was plenty of parking on the outside. After multiple delays, the former Staples here finally reopened on 12/21/16 as a Designer Shoe Warehouse. The interior has been completely remodeled, from the carpeting to the walls to the lighting. Cash registers are located in the NW corner of the store (left corner when you walk in), staffed by 2-4 store personnel. As expected, women's footwear takes up most of the floor space, with a section for children (including infants & toddlers) on the south side of the store. Kids can measure their height and shoe size using the signpost and floor graphic. Though gents only have two aisles to walk through, each aisle is four rows deep (including the row of clearance racks in the back of the store) so the selection really is extensive: shoes and shoeboxes as far as the eye can see. Customers can also expect to find bags, hats, belts, socks, and leggings. If you forget to wear socks, boxes of disposable try-on socks are available in each aisle. Restrooms are located in the back, roughly where they were during the Staples days. As at other DSW stores, the everyday in-store pricing can still be relatively high, despite being below MSRP. Even the clearance pricing (30%-50%) isn't particularly impressive. Aside from being a pleasant and well-lit showroom, this DSW's most valuable feature for online shoppers will probably be in-store pickup (for orders under $35 that don't qualify for free shipping) and returns. A peculiar feature left over from Staples is the automatic door/manual door combo in the front of the store. When entering, the first set of doors is automatic, but the second set of doors swing out and have to be opened manually. It's not a dealbreaker, but this quirk almost made me walk straight into the second set of doors, after expecting them to be automatic. read more

Worst sale associates ever!!! I placed 2 orders with the sales girl behind the register. Both orders were to be shipped directly to the East Brunswick store. For some crazy reason, which nobody can explain, one order was shipped to the correct store, and the other to a store in Virginia (I live in NJ)! When I got notification the orders were ready, I went to the EB store, the girl behind the counter couldn't find my order that was sent to her store, she told me it wasn't delivered, I had to asked her to try and locate by order number! Why am I telling her, her job?! She says, it's here, but she still couldn't find it, she had to call for help, another sales associate found it behind were she was standing...ok, one mystery solved!! Then I must have really thrown them for a loop and asked why my 2nd order that they place was shipped to Virginia? The 2 girls said "I don't know". I said fine, how do I get that order? Again, "I don't know?" The manager comes over, I asked him if he could call the Virginia store and have it shipped here? He said, "oh no, you have to call customer service", they won't ship it. So you made the mistake, and I have to fix it?... Idiots! So I go to my car and call the Virginia store, I spoke to very pleasant store manager named Marci, she confirmed she has the order, and would ship to to EB, I begged her to please send it directly to my home address, she said no problem. I'm sorry but, the lack of knowledge, and customer service in this store is a joke!!! I will be dealing with the Princeton store only. No wonder the employees are idiots, they must have been trained by the manager, another idiot!! read more

Okay, it's really not my favorite store. I like stores with more variety. The place is small, and it's easy to navigate. The staff isn't hugely friendly, but it could be that they're not happy working in retail. I empathize with them. They have a good variety of shoes of shoes to buy, and I can normally find my size. But, today it was not my lucky day. I needed to get some dress shoes, and they had, but everything was either too small or too large. This was a surprise! It does have good prices. Located in the Mid- state mall where Staples used to be. Found what I needed -- looking for a pair of comfortable crocs! Overall, have a ton of shoes, mostly for females, and a moderate amount for men/children. Prices aren't really cheaper in my opinion, marginally so, but I guess that's unavoidable for the name brands? For really affordable shoes, better stores might be Famous Footwear, Kohl's (which offer more frequent promos and Kohl's cash), and Payless even. I don't think they have additional sizes in the back, as my husband asked and they weren't able to find anything. They do offer online orders/pick-up options so that makes things a lot easier. Returns are simple and quick, they don't make a big fuss or ask a lot of questions. Cashiers have always been quick to assist me. None have been overly friendly, but I found them to be helpful as needed. While it might not be my first option for shoes because of the price, I would not rule this store out. read more

Not a huge fan of DSW But I was desperate to find sneakers, since every other store I went to(mall included) didnt have many choices on womens sneakers. What the hell..I looked online and in I went..sadly it's very difficult to find sneakers for myself, due to my high instep and wide width.. The sneakers this year are quite crappy..not much support and many are very ugly..or are too flat in the heel. Well after an hour of torturing myself I finally found 2 pairs. Not really happy with them as I wear sneakers out very quickly due to my job. So $110 later.. Their not my favorite place to shop for shoes period I truly believe they are overpriced. Even their "fake leather/leather" are ridiculously expensive. They do have cute shoes dont get me wrong but I refuse to pay $80-$90 for shoes that are not actually leather. They wear out quickly and your feet dont breathe. Great let's save the cows but at what cost to your feet and back. It's not just this store but many shoe stores are going for polyurethane shoes-"vegan leather" that's crazy is that even a thing. Well if you're looking for leather shoes be prepared to pay out the nose for them here. What happened to the good ol days when all shoes were leather and people cared about their feet. I think the prices are great--considering the huge variety & relative quality. For most shoe needs I can come here, try on a pair & come home with a selection I'll be happy with. I have been shopping at DSW for as long as I can remember. But I have no idea what is going on with this East Brunswick location. About 2-3 weeks ago I ordered a shoe online in the morning. Usually it takes a while for a confirmation email. I called the store around 6pm to see if my order had been completed so I can pick the shoes up. I called, the store representative went to go and check and my order was not there. She then told me the store did not have my size in that shoe. I asked her why it's been over the 4-hour limit & I haven't gotten a cancellation email. She then said "are you sure? You might have deleted it". Clearly I wouldn't have called if I got the cancellation email. I would have had TO SEE the email before deleting it. I didn't get that cancellation email until the next day. Today I purchased a pair of black Jessica Simpson cork wedges. I know my size so I got the box and took it to the register. I should have known better and checked the box myself. The girl at the register opened the lid and then closed it. I get home to find only ONE shoe in the box and it's an 8 1/2. Now I have to waste more time, go back to the store only to find out there is no 7 1/2 at all and the other 8 1/2 shoe was in a different box and they just had an empty 7 1/2 size box. No one even took the time to go check the stick room to see if there by chance was a 7 1/2 in the back. So now again, I'm left without shoes. read more
