I entered the store, quickly made my selection, & headed towards the cashier. There was no line. The cashier (Ann S.) was having a conversation with who appeared to be a customer; but the customer didn't have any bags and there was no merchandise on the counter. I stood there...waiting...Ann S. looked at me...the person looked at me...& continued with their conversation...I kept waiting in shock. You would have thought I was expecting free merchandise. This is my favorite store for buying teacher supplies and for making laminations. Obviously July, August, and September are the busiest times of the year for buying anything. If you're there at that time, try to go in the early morning to avoid the laminator line, the S.I. crew, and long lines in general. Ha! The staff is patient, nice, and helpful. I used to go here all the time as a kid and buy teaching stuff because I used to play school, all the time. Lakeshore has everything you could possibly need as a teacher which is great for those who need, however everything is way overpriced. A pack of 12 pencil grips cost $23.. I think that is way overpriced for 12 pencil grips. Otherwise, they don't just have teaching supplies there they have a bunch more stuff! It's also very great because they have a bunch of objects/toys (or whatever you want to call them) for motor skills. They have a handful of stuff that you should buy! Love this place and will continue going here only when there are sales. read more

IF you can't find what you need for your classroom here, then it simply does not exist. This is a totally-mobbed, TRUE REAL GENUINE TEACHER'S SUPPLY store. be awed as you watch teachers negotiate their way through. I think, figuratively every single teacher in the world, is there, waiting so patiently, waiting their turn wading through the huge lines of fellow teachers snaking their way around the amazing inventory of school stuff. It seems they created classroom stuff right from what every teacher's imagination needs and wants. Every single teacher is ever so kindly and patiently excusing themselves ever so gently: "excuse me"; "sorry"; "may i get through please, THANK YOU"; "sorry, may I squeeze by please, THANK YOU" The teachers are 'practicing what they preach' ... each, ever so respectfully, in turn, ever-so-gently slithering through, and, in-between, each other, throughout the jam-packed huge store, no, not store, amazing children's learning center "warehouse/depot" filled with awesome teacher stuff, every teacher wishes they could just snag up everything if their budget allowed, and bring it all home...and they do...up to their budget. IF they had enough money, I bet most of those there would love to just "buy up and buy out" the whole store.... Again, worth repeating. Despite the jammed, no-room, accommodations, you could hear a pin drop, without anyone bumping into each other; no one annoying or interfering with each other. Everyone is courteous, gentle, respectful, considerate, gracious, accommodating, mindful of everyone else's presence, while minding their own business, and each in their own world, on their own mission, seeking out the perfect items for their own students needs. With so much to choose from; with so much time dedicated to their own mission and objectives and goals, no one seems to mind that the store is so crowded. it does not seem possible that all those people crammed into one place manage to slip in between each others spaces without anyone ever getting frustrated... what a place. tons and tons and tons of teacher supplies. TEACHER SUPPLY HEAVEN. ... worth making a pilgrimage there. worth the excursion. Rent and bring a tractor- trailer or a pickup truck or a huge SVU. bring time. spend the day. plan to return. plan to stay again another time after your initial several visits ... you won't even know time is passing while you are in teacher supply paradise. oh...make sure you also remember to get the stuff that originally was on the list you brought.... This store is a gem! I wanted to laminate posters for my classroom and Staples quoted me a ridiculous amount. They have a laminating machine here for use and it is 39cents a foot (49 if you are not a Teacher's Club member). The store is organized and has tons of great resources and decor. Although it is more geared towards younger children, even the high school teacher like myself can find things there to use and to help with differentiation. read more

I contacted Lakeshore Learning in East Brunswick by phone prior to coming to the store. I had received a laminating machine as a donation from my school district's PTA. Within a year, the machine had stopped working. The person I spoke to on the phone was extremely polite and apologetic and assured me that I could come in and exchange the machine without any charge. I came to the store later that day and began explaining my situation to the cashier. The employee I spoke to on the phone overheard and immediately came over with a brand new machine. He made the transaction quickly and easily. I was on my back to school in ten minutes. The store was clean and colorful. I cannot say enough about the help of the staff. Great customer service!! I've been shopping at this location for almost 14 years. I love that you can laminate your own creations. The manager has been there as long as I have been shopping there, along with lots of familiar faces over the years, which is nice to see. Must be a great place to work! read more

Best place EVER for any teacher. A danger and gift in one place because it's so amazing you can spend hours in there!

Always make sure I stop here before a new school year begins. Has great sales. But it will be busy!
