Dicks has a good collection of sporting apparels and goods . Generally there are quality products there with good discounts .. today , it wasn't the case . Also , this location is undergoing construction and it was very dusty . Not sure how the employees are working there .. Not much of sale at all ! I had a gift card and was in the market for a new pair of running shoes. I originally went to Road Runner and became impatient when there were more customers than sales people to help. Dick's has fair prices and a wide selection of clothing and equipment. I found what I was looking for and had an easy checkout experience. I purchased a pair of size 14 Nike sandals / slides for my husband. These are the plastic/rubber type which we've gotten online - only difference was the large strap across the top that holds the shoe on. The material is a thick white padded strap instead of the thinner black strap with logo. After having them in our house for a couple of weeks we noticed an overwhelming smell of rubber tires. After searching and smelling everything I discovered the shoes were off gassing this truly overpowering stench. I went to the store today with receipt in hand to describe the problem. The manager could care less. Customer service via telephone were very nice and polite, but after being passed around twice they told me to call Nike. Enough said. read more

I love this store. They have everything. Whether I'm looking for camping gear, new sneakers, board shorts for the beach, running apparel, sports paraphernalia... you name it, Dick's carries it. This store is extremely well organized and is always freshly stocked. While there aren't a ton of people working here at any given time, when you do need one, you can find one, and they are generally helpful. And prices tend to be competitive. read more

Customer service here is non-existent. You will get better, more human-like service from your computer while ordering on-line.... The staff does not look at you when you address them with a question. They are abrupt and rude, even for simple questions like where is the XYZ section. It doesn't matter whether it's a crowded shopping day or if it's a practically empty store with several employees on staff. The common attitude among the employees is their apparent unhappiness to be there. The sports authority, before they closed, had much better service. Modells, which is a bit too far (route 1 I think) , has excellent service, with staff taking the time to explain how to fit certain items and giving helpful suggestions on what to buy and what's not necessary. This is especially helpful when you buy a particular sports gear for the first time and don't know how to determine the size. There is staff walking around checking on customers to see if they need help. Despite the staff at this Dick's location, the store is large and has a good variety of products. It's a one-stop shop if you need to buy anything remotely sports related, from sneakers to dance clothes to ski clothes and much more. Unfortunately, it's a self service model. read more

Went in to look for a golf bag. Website had one on sale for 59.99. Waited for the sales guy to be finished with his customer and asked about the bag. He laughed and said "the small bag, the weekender? We had one but it sat forever and is gone now." Ok, yes I wanted a smaller bag for the par 3 course. Never asked me about another bag just went back to some kid who claimed he was going to order a club, which I don't think he ever did. I just left, since he wasn't interested in selling me anything. Oh and to top it off he wore his mask on his mouth only, with his nose completely out. WTH is the point, mine as well have just not worn it. Review is mainly on their bikes. Final recommendation: If you're looking for an affordable bike for your kid, or if you're NOT a bike enthusiast, this place is for you. If you're looking for a high end bike with quick turnarounds on repair, go to a dedicated bike shop. Their extended warranty is totally worth it. Includes a free tune and they keep their word on repairing the bike. I took my son's bike there with a broken pedal, damaged shifter, ripped handles, loose handlebars. Reason for the heavy wear were multiple long bike rides up to 11 miles. It took them a little over a month to repair, but they provided me with the proper service and managed my expectations on the bike repair time frame. Again, I recommend this place for kids and non-enthusiasts, and would not hesitate to pick another bike up as a guest or kid's first bike. read more

I really like Dick's. It's a great large store with good sports gear. They sell a lot of great bikes, sport shoes, sport balls, and anything else relating to sports. They have a great clothing selection as well. They have a lot of clothing with the Nike symbol on it, making this store good for fans of Nike. The store is large, but very easy to navigate. The staff is very friendly as well, unlike the location in the Woodbridge mall. My only criticism is that there's barely any staff around the store, and the bathrooms were disgusting. There was diarrhea, in all the toilet stalls, and the toilets are a little small, if that doesn't get too personal. However, I really do like this store to get some nice sports gear. read more

The in-store people were helpful and the selection was good. However, the cashier failed to put my golf shoes in our bag and by the time we arrived home and noticed we were 45 minutes away. We called the store assuming we could have the item mailed to us, but were told by two people that they could not do that. We finally spoke with a manager who was as useless as the others, it was like speaking with a part-timer who could care less. He offered no solution and told us that they could not even credit my credit card when I told them I did not want the shoes any more because of the aggravation. If there is no resolution on this shortly I will have no choice but to call my credit card company to dispute the charge...rediculous! read more

I really love it here and I am so picky when it comes to workout clothes! Dick's is so bright inside with numerous employees to help you find what you need. Usually they have specials or sales going on to somewhat lower the price. I can't say anything bad about Dick's and I've been coming here for years now. They always had the equipment I needed for when I played soccer or softball and all the items are fairly priced. The employees are so very friendly and they always greet you when walking in to the store. I will always be a customer to this company and thank you for all the quality items you sell! read more

Terrible customer service. I purchased a 14 foot kayak from the dicks sporting goods in brick and they wouldn't let me see how it would fit in my truck before buying-So I bought it. It barely fit in my truck but when I got home it didn't fit in my basement. I went to Dicks two days later on my day off in east Brunswick to return it or see if I can even exchange for a smaller one.. I didn't even make it in the store and the girl (chunky) kept saying she could not accept it, a gentleman came outside who worked there to help me named john. (I know he was the general manager who was an ass and couldn't even accommodate me. Mind you it's two days old, not used, with a valid receipt. It was in my truck for two days because would not fit in my basement so naturally it got 1 or two leaves in it. Unbelievable. But, if you take a marriage of their price match guarantee, if you find something with another reputable company listed online, go to the cash register, they will match the price of that product. They will also take competitor is online coupons. As long as you find a coupon that is considered" in-store sale", not online, you can get that discount as well. Meaning, if you take a Modell's coupon for let's say 20% to their store, or find it online, they will take 20% off product. That's a pretty good deal. But that's probably the only way I will shop there because they are a little pricey. read more

Well, I bought a bike from Dicks Sporting Goods in May, have ridden it all of four times to train for a triathlon, and each of the four times something went wrong with the bike. The guy told me that the brand I purchased was a good name and they have never had anyone come in with problems. I have!! The chain was rubbing against metal when on a certain gear, bolts have come loose, the brakes came loose which caused them to not work while riding, and the latest time I went to ride the tube in the tire had a hole in it. I have brought it back in two times since I purchased it and even though they are nice guys I question their experience. They have been pretty relaxed and do "fix" the issue (only fixed the tire and the time with the chain told me that it's normal), but I think you will be better off at a bike shop. The last kid told me if I have another problem to just bring it in and exchange for something else. The store itself is very clean and neat. I have only walked through and never have purchased anything else. The employees do seem to be helpful! read more

I was so disapointed in this store. It was extremely expensive. The clearance items were more expensive than what I am used to paying regular prices for. My biggest disapointment was the fact that they think fat woman don't exercise. This demographics is totally ignored. The largest size in womens is XL which is a really small XL. I am not that big.
