I have gone to this range a few times and never had a bad experience, last night was hands down the best. I went to the range with a few friends, all who are new to shooting with handguns. After some initial struggles with accuracy, a range safety officer was very willing to give us some tips that drastically help improve that. Unfortunately, I was unable to get his name as he left our section of the range before our time was up. I asked the front desk staff and was given the name Anthony. Can't thank Anthony enough for sharing his knowledge and time, it made the whole experience so much more enjoyable and less intimidating. I can't recommend RTSP enough. read more

I signed up for a women's only class at the Randolph location, basic safety, my first step towards learning and obtaining a firearm. My instructor had my full attention because I was the only one who signed up, it was only her and I. I am puzzled as to the hostility. Inches from my face telling me, "This is NJ, you kill someone you're going to jail, do you get that." I replied, " I do, my daughter works for a prosecutor's office." She said, " good, well then your daughter is going to prosecute you.' That's just to mention one of the several comments that she made. I can fully understand letting people know all the rules and consequences but There was no reason for that behavior. She told me to get a membership for 400, I would have but to be spoken to like that, no thanks. read more

My instructor, Sam, was knowledgeable, extremely patient, professional, and offered me much appreciated coaching on how to improve my shooting technique. I was in the area and wanted to go shooting. I've heard good things about RTSP Randolph Shooting Range. They have other locations too. Upon arrival I had to go into a room where there is table and chairs along with a few kiosks and watch a short safety video and fill out paperwork. This is standard for anyone who goes to a shooting range. It's all about safety first. Afterwards, my brother and my bf paid for extra ammo and to rent a space for an hour. On the weekends this place gets crazy busy. Originally, we were going to have to wait 45 minutes but somebody got off the range and we were able to get in right away. Unlike the Flemington shooting range there is no private room to get set up and put on your goggles, headphones and get ready to enter the shooting range area. Once inside, you go to your designated spot. We all took turns shooting. There are several very well trained staff walking around making suggestions, and keeping everyone safe. They even helped a group of ladies who were celebrating a birthday party there. There was always an instructor helping out and walking them through step by step. In the main lobby there's all kinds of Merch for sale along with guns, and equipment. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. There's plenty of free parking. Took a 2-hour basic pistol course with Jorge at Randolph. I'd never used a pistol before and was anxious about using a firearm. Jorge was a great instructor in the classroom and on the range. In the classroom, Jorge was patient, thorough and explained things well. He welcomed a beginners questions with no judgement and was able to explain everything well. On the range, Jorge reinforced the classroom training and after moving on to my second magazine, I was hitting all around the bullseye consistently. Outstanding range with outstanding personnel. I've taken training / classes with Frank, Tommy and Matt...all of these guys are like the best NCOs you wish you had when (or if) you were in the military. Very knowledgeable, pace their training to all levels of trainees (beginner to expert) and great professional bearing in the classroom and on the range itself. On the sales side, Anthony is also notable. Not many guys that admit a love of shotguns when there are all the AR and AK variants out there, but he was great to work with when retrieving my Wilson Combat Scattergun. Great advice on ammunition, etc. I've been a member of this range for many years, but only recently starting taking advantage of the great training opportunities available. I went to RTSP in Randolph. Front desk staff were super friendly and the selection of guns to rent was awesome. The shooting experience itself however, left a lot to be desired. There were only two bays in use (myself and a friend, and one other person) and yet there were like 6 range safety attendants which was absolutely overkill. We felt like we were being crowded and watched by a hawk. There was only one staff member, a younger guy, who was polite. What was the most upsetting however, was when I was shooting an AR-15, the way I was approached. It's been about 5 years since the last time I shot one and I understand my form could use some correction. However when I was in the middle of shooting, and older gentleman came up to me and GRABBED THE GUN, jerked it closer to my head, and yelled at me how to hold it. I am absolutely appalled that not only would someone think it was appropriate to grab a person ACTIVELY SHOOTING A GUN, but the fact that it was a range safety officer no less. The person I went with has years experience with guns, ARs in particular, and he hadn't even gotten a chance to help me before this attendant ran up on me. with He could have tapped me on the shoulder or waited till I was done with the magazine, I welcome advice and correction. If I were being unsafe it would have been understandable but it was just my form. This was unacceptable and I would expect better training from the staff. I hope it doesn't happen to anyone else. I'd like to go back, but I really hope they work on their safety methods. I'm sorry if this sounds harsh but this needs to be brought to attention. read more

The two hour introduction class given by Jorge was exactly what I needed as a newbie. His instructions were clear and his feedback on the range tweaking both my stance and hand grip left me feeling 100% secure every time I shot. His overriding message of gun safety and his calm and patient demeanor has me certain that I will do some refresher lessons with him in the future. He made me laugh and smile and hearing the glee in his voice as he stood next to me and said aloud "bullseye" every time I hit a perfect shot made me want to become a member. Went for my PTC compete course. Jorge and Sam were top notch. While this is a serious endeavor they really made it comfortable and zero stress. They treated all participants with respect. It was such an easy process. I have to say at first I was skeptical as the cost is significant, but they will really ensure you are all set from the training and qual aspect of the law. The facility is always well kept and most of the RSOs are nice and professional. I don't recommend civilian ranges and courses much, but this place has become one of the best. read more

Took 2 hr. private basic class with Frank DiLiberto. Great instructor! Learned a lot and he made the course easy to understand. He was patient, extremely thorough in explaining things, and covered a lot. At target practice he was showing me safety techniques and went over gun loading and firing very clearly. First gun purchase. This place is good. Staff was friendly and listen to me. Answered questions and I was able to make my first purchase. Gun range is nice. This place is way smaller then the union location, but the gun selection was good. The rso where friendly. There was an rso an older gentleman I did not get his name but he was the best he chatted with us helped my son with an AR and after his help my son was shooting the target perfectly. I would highly recommend this place for your first gun purchase. This place is 45 mins from my home but I will definitely be returning from time to time. read more
