I went to 7 different indoor facilities in Morris and Union counties looking for the best facility for my 9u travel team to practice. I wanted a large area and high ceiling where the kids can make a long distance throw and field full length ground balls. I also wanted use of multiple cages so the kids/players are partcipating and not standing around gettting bored. Extra Innings has 7 full size batting cages AND one large area that can be broken down into 2, 3 or 4 cages. They have a good size waiting area with a television, a board to do a chalk talk, a store where they sell all things baseball (eg. bats, gloves, batting gloves) and clean restrooms. Extra innings ("EI") gave us the large practice area (100 feet by 30 feet) at a very reasonable price. We would start each practice with the area set up in 4 quadrants and do station work with our players and then EI staff would help us pull back all the nets to create one large area where we would work on team situations (e.g. double plays, run downs, full distance ground balls, low pop ups). EI provided us with 2 indoor mounds so that we could have 2 pitching stations. They also provided us with L screens to throw batting practice, batting Tees, a bucket of balls, a portable pitching machine, and bases. EI staff was friendly and helpful. They were always willing to work with us and make sure we were happy with the facility. This past winter the travel team moved up to 10u and once again used Extra Innings for indoor winter training. Over the past couple of months EI has had 2 or 3 bat nights where they have brought in outside vendors (Louisville/Wilson/DeMartini, Easton, Axe) to allow players to demo live, in their cages, the new USA approved bats. They did a great job with the bat nights and had employees on hand to pitch/soft toss to players so that they can get a real feel for the new bats. They were also selling the bats at a discount. As of the date of this post, EI's USA bat selection is MUCH better than the big box stores (dick's and modell's) and their pricing is extremely competitive, if not better than the big box stores. They have many brands and models (eg. To name a few: Louisville solo and Omaha, Easton ghost and beast, Rawlings Quatro and Velo, Axe, DeMarini, etc.). Ask for Mike Gallo. By far the best facility around for any age player. My sons have been going there since they were 7 years old. They helped my sons develop into players. Always nurturing and understanding. These guys want to help kids learn and have fun. Not squeeze every buck out of you. It's like a family. True baseball people. The pro shop is top quality too. the facility is bright and clean with high ceilings which is huge for training. Many places have low ceilings. HitTrax is great, cages and machines are top notch. We have a lot of indoor facilities around our area but not many as well managed and staffed as Extra Innings. The baseball/softball experience trainers bring to clinics and personal training is impressive. The biggest critics of all, my children, are usually the first to complain about practice and clinics in the past but their attitude toward the game has changed and they look forward to putting in the work. That is the greatest testament I can give Extra Innings from my 11yr old daughter and 9yr old son. We highly recommend Extra Innings to friends and family all the time. read more

Extra Innings is by far the best batting and training facility in New Jersey. During the off season our Senior League players practice at Extra Innings a couple of times a week. In three years with well over 150 different guys ushing the facility there has not be one complaint. The facility is always well maintained, clean and neat. Batting cages are always set up and ready to go when we arrive. I really can't give Extra Innings enough praise. Big facility with a good amount of tunnels.The MVP package is worth it if taking lessons as it makes packages more affordable. We've used 2 of the trainers there so far and both have very different techniques but have helps my sons a lot. its very hard though to schedule training during pre-season (which is understandable) that makes it very hard to keep consistency with the training as well as if you want the same coach. Overall I'm happy we found it and its so close to our house. As the season winds down it will be nice to back for more lessons. read more

Been bringing my son here for offseason baseball practice for a few years now, and more recently got him involved in its club team. All experiences have been positive and most notable is staff and management adherence to ensure the safety of the kids during the pandemic. Not only have they effectively enforced the safety protocols, but in a manner that is not alarming so the kids were able to focus on playing ball and having fun. Ownership and staff have always gone above and beyond for me. They are helpful when it comes to working the machines and have always found some solution to any problem I've had. I also had more than one Birthday party there and I've always felt welcome to the very last minute. The staff helps clean up even though they don't have to. It has the type of small business, family run feeling that's hard to find anymore, very friendly and eager to make sure you're leaving satisfied. I would recommend this place to anyone. read more

The employee working the desk couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. He even checked up on us to make sure we weren't having any issues using the pitching machine being inexperienced users. And there were tons of people there so it's not like he was looking for something to do. I was also given a courtesy call in advance to let me know the power is out so I wouldn't waste an hour driving there to find out the hard way. My son was new to baseball and I took him here to learn the basics. He got more than that. The instructors are very knowledgable and great with the kids. We especially love Justin V. He has taught my son to become a very solid player. I have recommended this place to my friends who ask where my son goes for training. Our leagues and my teams have been working with Extra Innings for years. Mic and Mike are great guys and run a top notch shop. Professional, responsive and know the game. We have used them for Rec uniforms, travel uniforms, custom hats, equipment purchases and reserve the facility for spring training workouts. My son has been training here on Sunday's for 2 + months with his club team. It's been a great experience with a pretty large amount of kids who train. It's clean and all handled very efficiently. We just started renting some cages for private hitting and if you hit it at the right time the wait is not bad. I've been here three or four times and i love the ability to reserve hitting tunnel online. Whenever I arrive the staff is always pleasant and helpful. One time an employee helped my daughter for a straight half hour to find a new bat, even though I said I probably wouldn't be purchasing that day.
