Ouch. Although this…read moreplace is a tad pricey for the closest "neighborhood bar", typically the pizza (the only item worth re ordering) is a go to. Yesterday (Thursday) was pizza special night. My husband ordered French onion soup to start and his own pizza and I ordered a pizza as well, I also asked for it to be VERY well done. Why? Because typically vegetarian pizzas are soggy with all the veg goodness. AND it's usually perfect when you ask for it this way. Our pizzas come out. I instantly saw mine was NOT well done (the cheese wasn't even brown/crispy. My husbands looked fine. I took closer look at mine and noticed that the dough was also raw. Server came to checkin, i showed her a the raw dough, she profusely apologized and sent it back. It came out again, looking the same way and it felt like it just sat under the heat lamp. Cheese was the same way, everything...including the raw dough. The manager was making his rounds and ended up two booths ahead of us and we could hear him apologizing..lucky me, he came to our booth. I explained the pizza was already sent back once and it came back with the same issue and showed him the problem. I got an "ooook" from the manager. .....and then I said "I'd like this off the bill and taken back please." Without hesitation another "ook" came from him and the pizza was whisked away. Nothing else was exchanged. He could see my husband had a pizza and soup, we had beers... and he offered nothing. Zero. Not only that, no apology. Just ooooook and walked away lol The server came back, we asked for the bill and pizza box. She apologized again and asked if I'd like anything at all. I was over it, and just wanted to leave. I declined and thanked her. She again offered dessert to go. I declined and she apologized again- to which is no fault of her own but I appreciated it. I was super appalled by the managers reaction and zero effort to make our experience better. Both my husband and I come from previous YEARS in the service industry and we were both left speechless by the interaction with him. We've been to Madison's a handful of times and over the years have primarily ordered pizza to go and have never had this kind of issue. Disappointing. We'll spend our money elsewhere.

We arrived for breakfast and the tables were being set up - someone wearing a coat setting up tables without so much as a "hello" and the server not offering any sort of greeting was off putting. You folks have a great location, facility and concept however, the service , food and ambiance has to be consistent. The decor looks a bit fast foodish, perhaps without the plastic chairs. Service was friendly but our server seemed pretty new to the job. We had to flag her down to both take our order and to pay, even though both times she was just standing behind the counter. Looked like some staff were being trained but our server was doing the training. The menu is quite interesting. Lots of home cooked meal type items like my chicken pot pie or prime rib. Add in some Canadian favourites like burgers, pizza, chicken wings and sandwiches, with Butter Chicken or Asian Fried Cauliflower to mix it up. My jerk chicken was really good. Dishes headed to other tables also looked delicious. I will definitely try it again, depending on what kind of food I'm looking for. I feel like there might be better choices for things like prime rib, but this menu could be a good compromise for broad interests

It wasn't that busy, but the host appeared to be both serving and seating, as such it took about 15 minutes to be seated in the restaurant side where only 2 other families were eating. From there it took our waitress another 10 to see us. It shouldn't take that long when not busy. From there, our table of 6 ordered appetizers and mains. Our waitress struggled to get our order amendments and wasn't entirely friendly. I have to say though, she knew the GF options well. The food, while fairly good, came out incorrect for 2/6 mains. Mine was missing the chicken entirely, while another had the wrong side dish. We all ate what we got though and were fairly happy. I liked that I could share appetizers with everyone for once and really impressed at how much could be made gluten free. Most of my friends have their established favorites, so maybe as we continue to go I'll find one I really like and that's done well too.

5 Stars - Celiac Friendly and Absolutely Delicious!…read more I can't say enough good things about Spiro's Pizza in Calgary. As someone with Celiac disease, eating out is often more stress than it's worth, not at Spiro's. I traveled from Houston to Calgary several times, and Spiro's is my must have for safe, gluten-free pizza. Every time I've eaten here, the staff has shown a deep understanding of Celiac disease not just gluten intolerance, but the actual medical condition Celiac and the seriousness of cross-contact that celiacs face when eating away from home. That care is rare and so appreciated when you find a place like this. On my most recent trip, I was staying at a hotel on the opposite side of town and considering delivery via DoorDash. Truth be told, I was nervous as this was the first time I had ever ordered deliver, always in person to gauge safety. It's hard enough trusting the process in person...I was super worried something was going to get lost in translation with ordering via an app. So, I called ahead first and spoke with the owner's daughter, and she did her best to reassure me that everything would be handled with the same level of care as when I am there in person. She even told me to leave a note in the DoorDash "special instructions" and she'd take it from there. The DoorDash driver was great: friendly, communicative, and fast, the pizza was steaming hot. When he handed me the box, all my anxiety gone. On the box was a big red "Gluten Free" sticker sealing the box, and the receipt was marked up with "Celiac," "Gluten Free," and "Be Safe." They were spot freaking on! the pizza was as always just amazing, really, you wouldn't know it's gluten free I have tested it several times because it it just that good it's hard to believe it's not cardboard. It is by far the best GF pizza I've had anywhere. Crispy crust, generous toppings, and cheese the cheese- amazing! Spiro's, thank you for truly understanding what it means to eat out as a Celiac.
