Wheaty's is a bar and serves bar food with your typical and not-so-typical bar drinks. My husband…read moreand I don't drink, so I can't tell you about the beverages --sorry! However, I can tell you about The Food, Respect Toward COVID, and their Work Ethic. The Food -- we ordered Deep Fried Pickles, which are hands-down the best fried pickles we've ever had (and we like fried pickles). They were spicy, but not too spicy. It tasted like the pickle itself was spicy and the panko had its own, unique seasoning. I wish they served those as a side dish to the sandwich instead of the fries! I ordered the "Wheaty's Wings" which claim to come with '7 Mammoth wings with every order' and they were some huge wings-- this is a real meal! I ordered plain wings and they were crispy and juicy and hot. Excellent! My husband ordered the Cordon Bleu Sandwich which has a juicy, seasoned chicken beast with Swiss and ham -- think chicken cordon bleu meets hoggie! He woofed that down! We ordered fries with the sandwich for a couple dollars more and they were okay... definitely not the same level of culinary skill as the rest of the food we ordered, we had to add lots of salt (Which is good that they don't load them with salt for people who can't tolerate that) and they still weren't so great. Respect Toward COVID -- Masks are required in order to enter this bar and she's serious! When you walk in, she sanitizes a table for you right there. She is constantly washing her hands and wearing a mask. As I watched her, I saw her touch her face about 3 times and each time she cleaned her hands in some fashion. She sanitizes bar stools, the bar -- she's on top of this. The chef is washing her hands and wearing a mask. There are only 2 women running the whole place and while they're doing all of their work, they're also constantly sanitizing. When people come in off the street and there's no where for them to sit, she gives them the option to sit on patio where they won't get food or drink service, but they can wait and she'll come and get them when a table is free or they can purchase a drink and sit and drink it outside. The tables are spaced more than 6 feet apart and the whole bar can maybe seat 30 max. Work Ethic -- there are 2 women running this VERY busy bar. The Front House Manager and the Chef. They're taking to-go orders and bussing tables and refilling drinks and sanitizing and washing their hands and reminding people to wear masks and every few minutes someone comes in off the street and wants to know when they can get a table. And they're doing it flawlessly! We were there around 9:30pm on a Saturday, so I imagine it was a long day of doing that constantly, but both women were exceptionally polite and answered questions and payed close attention to guests and we never had to wait longer than a few minutes for anything. Support Yooper-ran businesses, support small business, and get the fried pickles!

Marley's Irish Pub - The bartender is the best here! So nice and helpful! Even gave a free drink chip just for moving down a seat at the bar! Highly recommend!

Stopped here during a family vacation. It was a Wednesday night in September around 9:30 PM so not…read morea whole lot was open. The seven of us wandered in here an there was literally one person (Josh) working the whole restaurant. He was bar tender, waiter, bus boy and cook. He did a fantastic job of taking care of us even though he had two or three other tables going at the same time. He was efficient, polite, attentive and super friendly and welcoming (a couple of other nearby restaurants declined serving us because it was late and they didn't feel like dealing with our large party). He didn't have any problem with it and was great. The food is basically bar food so I'm not comparing it to other more fine dining type places but I will say that as far as bar food goes they do an awesome job with it. I tried their "Best of Both Worlds" which is a burger and smoked brisket sandwich combined. It's their signature sandwich I guess. It was awesome. Other people had burgers, chicken wraps, chili and stuff like that. Everyone really enjoyed their meal. The bottom line: this is a great little small-town bar to get a couple beers and some good old American bar food in with a local twist. Our combination server, cook and bartender (Josh) was great.

Absolutely terrible experience from start to finish. We went to what is supposed to be an Irish…read morepub/bar and it was one disappointment after another. The first drinks we ordered came out half full, tasted awful, and were still somehow $10 each. My coworkers also ordered simple root beers, and they were charged $5 each for those, which was ridiculous. Then we tried ordering whiskey, at an Irish pub that didn't even have Jameson, one of the most basic and famous Irish whiskeys. They also didn't have other common whiskeys we asked for. I even tried ordering a simple 7 and 7, and they didn't have 7-Up or Sprite, so they suggested Pepsi... at a bar. Unreal. The food was even worse. I ordered the fish and chips, and the fish was basically inedible, so tough I could barely cut it with a fork and the taste was terrible. The fries were soggy, and the bread ball sides they served were still frozen in the middle. For three people, the bill was nearly $90, which made it even more frustrating. To top it off, we waited over 30 minutes just to get the bill and leave. Without question, one of the worst restaurant/bar experiences I've ever had. I will never go back, and I'd strongly recommend others avoid it too.

The gentleman who served us was simply a delight and you can hear his love for his community and this bar when he speaks which made our entire dining experience so much more enjoyable! Food -- My husband ordered the Mushroom and Swiss burger and it was cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly, and super juicy -- he particularly appreciated that they toasted the bun. I ordered the whitefish basket and was very happy that the breading wasn't overly thick and overpowering, but the tarter sauce was worth writing this review and I could have brought some home with me! We ordered the whitefish dip for an appetizer, which was fabulous, but I'm not sure the chips were the best pairing. Decor -- There are antique tools on the wall that are really fun to look at and guess what they were used for (some we have at home and still use), There's a much more modern boxing machine and games for kids, too. Bathroom -- A little awkward, I'm not sure a wheelchair user without assistance would be able to swing the shape of the bathroom. I did have a chuckle that there's a "men's" room and a just not men's room (it was whited out). Overall, an absolute delight and great place to be able to stretch our legs and get some good food. We don't drink, so I can't tell you anything about the alcohol -- but I hear their Shirley Temples are famous!
