Any of the Chinese dishes were tough meat, not very good flavor. The pad Thai is ok nothing special. Not going back.

A three star that will climb to a four or even a five. It's a little bit of a challenge to find. In the strip mall with Family Fare supermarket...two doors down. First, the rice has that taste and texture of sitting in the crock pot all day. Maybe we'll check the place out for lunch, next time. The Pad Thai was far too sweet for my liking. I suspect it's in the sauce. The Drunken Noodles were spectacular. I could have eaten a double order. My new go-to dish! The woman at the counter taking our order was very polite and helpful. She even invited us to stay and eat in the tiny dining room. Very pleasant. The decor is really more like a carry-out in a strip mall. Technically, that's what it is. Half the restaurant has been closed off. Maybe since pandemic? Matters not, we enjoyed ourselves. The prices are pretty basic. The river and noodle dishes, for instance, are $13.95. WILL NOT HONOR RESTAURANT.COM GIFT CERTIFICATE even though it was purchased day of visit! Owner said they have not been accepting them for well over a year. She stated MANY customers that come in are upset after they receive their bill when told they don't accept RESTAURANT.COM but owner WON'T do ANYTHING to change that. I told her I got mine that day and showed her they are still listed and she said, "I KNOW but we DON'T accept the certificates." She said she contacted RESTAURANT. COM over a year ago but I don't believe her. She said you pay Restaurant.com to be in their program and get charged monthly. I suggested she put up a sign stating they NO LONGER PARTICIPATE. She said she should and if she was honest, a sign would have went up immediately. After shopping and going back still NO sign. As for the food, Red curry sauce was good. Chicken was like mush. It tasted more like soy protein. Other couple across from us complained about chicken being mushy. Owner stated to them it was the batter they use but it had NO breading??? I would NEVER go back . Food not worth the price. It was $45 for 2 chicken dishes no drinks. GO to THAI ORCHID in Petoskey. You will get excellent food at a great price and NO dishonesty. read more

I didn't expect the worlds best Thai food but I did expect food that tastes like Thai food. The first thing that surprised us was that the menus had so many items that weren't Thai. The prices were on the higher side, but Charlevoix can be pricy. The food we ordered came out fast and steaming hot but was... inedible. My drunken noodles were made with a noodle that looked more like pasta than it did anything I've ever eaten or seen at a Thai restaurant. The sauce was also similarly weird and didn't taste like Thai food. The only nice thing I can say is that my beef was tender. I expected so much better even when expecting below average Thai food. I come in for takeout a lot. They have VERY fast service, maybe 5 minutes from ordering until having my food. Staff is friendly. I like the food too, particularly the Pad Cashew as it's certainly better than the other pad cashews I've had. read more

Foos is OK, but everything taste the same. Never had Thai, where their weren't spuce levels....

When you get over cooked rice, it's hard to give a decent review to a new business. We need GOOD Thai food in Charlevoix so Royal Thai, please rethink your menu and recipes. I asked for not spicy - my intestinal fortitude does not tolerate red pepper - and our food was loaded. I would be a weekly customer if the food was cooked properly and had flavor not heat. Delicious! This is wonderful Thai food. Family owed and right here in Charlevoix. They were supper busy during first visit but gave us a pick up time and all four dishes our party got were awesome. We will be back over and over I'm sure. read more

Royal Thai - I've driven up to Charlevoix twice in the past week to try and get some curry, they have been closed both times during their posted hours. - Thai Near Me - Charlevoix, Michigan

Pad Thai was good but other, more pricey menu items, came with raw onion, raw pepper and canned pineapple. Menu items in store and menu item prices online are not labeled correctly. When adding our prices with the listed prices we were confused as to why we were charged more than $20 more with no notice that prices were incorrect or being updated. Atmosphere was definitely that of one that is mainly a take out restaurant with one 4 top and two 2 top tables on the floor. Food was okay but definitely overpriced for a take out restaurant. read more

Really friendly people! But kind of overly expensive for the portion sizes and quality of food. The appetizers and egg rolls were SUPER overpriced, charging six dollars for two small egg rolls! If this place had much lower prices i would be ok with it, or if it was better food i would be more comfortable paying this price. Sorry, won't be back. kind of expensive, which I don't mind if it's good. Spring rolls were stone cold and greasy. Pad Thai was just ok. I've had better. Sweet and Sour chicken was overcooked and tough. probably nuked. Save your money. read more
