My drunken noodles was spectacular and the chicken was tender and delicious. My sister had GANG Curry. The pork was really tender. The sauce was delicious and she wouldn't needed a spoon to finish off every drop of the delicious sauce. This is the third time we've been here and definitely worth visiting. Although this was over 40 minutes out of our way, we will do it again because it was just perfect for us. It's a comfortable small restaurant and it's very clean. They have Tuesday through Thursday and then you'd have to order off the menu on Monday and Friday or the weekend. Buffet is limited to a few items, but they are all delicious. The food is delivered right out of the wok steaming hot made as we ordered. Carry out only in this small Chinese/Thai restaurant. We have only had the Chinese fare as we don't care for Thai. The house fried rice with pork was nice and plentiful. We also had egg rolls, which weren't as warm as they could have been. The sesame chicken had lots of sauce, and the orange chicken breading was falling off but still tasty with large pieces of green pepper and onion. We only have Chinese food about twice a year so it's always a tasty treat. The only restaurant of its kind in Harbor Springs, tucked into the strip mall by Dollar General. read more

We are not in Manhattan's or San Francisco's Chinatown so this is not the most authentic Chinese food you'll find. Still, for "up north" Michigan, it's pretty good. We prefer the Chinese side of the menu over their Thai offerings, but when you get a craving for Asian food in HS, they do a pretty nice job that will scratch the itch. They tend to be a tad light on both the proteins and the spices by our palate, so don't be afraid to ask for medium, which is about on par with metro area Asian take-out spots' version of mild. I'm usually pretty critical of Chinese food. But I was pleasantly surprised with Chang's. My granddaughter started with the Thai ice tea. Very sweet & pleasant taste. We ordered broccoli beef, orange chicken, vegetable egg roll & pad Thai. Each one was excellent. The pad Thai was perfect, a sweet spicy flavor. You can get whatever spice level you want. I am not a picky person and I pretty much eat everything put in front of me and to me Chinese food is pretty basic unless you go to an upscale Chinese restaurant and then you can taste the difference. I hate to leave negative reviews on small businesses but the food here is just not good. I have ordered from here several times when I've had cravings for Chinese food in a pinch, each time hoping the food would be better but it never has been. Their fried rice is consistently stale and dry and has that old soy sauce taste. Their main dishes are drenched in sauce but still lacking flavor. And their egg rolls just miss the mark. Other reviews mention that their Thai food is better than their Chinese food; I have ordered pad see ew from here once and while it was not amazing it wasn't bad either. Maybe I should give their Thai food more of a chance, but overall their food has been consistently disappointing for me. It is also very overpriced for what you are getting in my opinion. While on vacation, my family wanted something quick and easy for lunch so we decided on this place. The Thai food was wonderful. However, the Chinese food did not live up to anyone's expectations. The chicken lo mein was soaked in soy sauce and the noodles were crunchy. The side of rice that came with the meal for the chinese lunch special was also soaked in soy sauce. The soup was passable, but not great. The chicken dish was respectably--and surprisingly--spicy, however overall the sauce was nothing special. While the vegetables were fresh and well cooked, the chicken didn't taste as great... I think due to lower quality. Also ordered edamame, which was just fine, but a very small serving for the price. Compared with other Asian restaurants I've been to, the food here is average at best. Crab Rangoon was missing any crab texture or flavor. Pork egg rolls were just ok. The steamed dumplings were average. My wife had the Happy Family and it was darker then others she had. I had the Thai ocean which is spicier then happy family with about the same seafood. The crab was imitation in both dishes. They came with fried rice which had a little too much soy sauce. It was very salty and very light on veggies that are usually in fried rice. So when you order the Happy Family, they aren't kidding. I ordered the Happy Family and a Pork Egg Roll, and I think I may have put more in the fridge for tomorrow's lunch than I was able to eat for dinner. You could almost feed a family and everybody would be very very happy. So when they say there is lobster and crab meat you always think, yep you wave the meat over the food to transfer some aroma, but they never add any actual meat. Well this Happy Family contained a lobster tail and tons of Crab Meat, not to mention delicious shrimp and scallops. I award Chang's Yum Yum Yum Yum Yum. Delicious food. We have only been able to do carry out but it has always been tasty. The lunch special portion is significantly less food than the dinner special but this wasn't to disappointing. I highly recommend the Gang Curry! It's the best curry dish I've had from anywhere. The spice level is standard, mild is pretty mild so medium offers a good balance. read more

We stop by this restaurant after we were done skiing. We ordered Drunken noodle, Gang Curry with Chicken, Thai Ocean, and Ginger Beef for take-out. The food were really great. Gang Curry was very tasty. Thai Ocean included one lobster tail and other seafood but its sauce was the same taste as Gang Curry. So, I may only order one of them next time. Most of what we ordered was just fine. It's solid Chinese/Thai food in Northern Michigan. What was unacceptable was what they pass off as "crab rangoon". Seriously lacking in the actual "filling". These are supposed to be 90% yummy c(k)rab cheese filling in a deep fried pouch. The filling looked like it was spread on with a tiny spoon and then deep fried. Come on guys. This is a great profit item for you, but there needs to be more (k)rab and cream cheese then pouch. Not good. read more
