    Fried Chicken Leg Sandwich
    Geneva C.

I've passed by this place for years, and finally decided to order fried chicken. Unfortunately, it tasted like old oil, and I'm pretty sure they cooked it in cheap, trashy oil. The chicken was dry and salty, and the ribs were just okay. I did enjoy the BBQ sauce, though pit has a nice tang. The mac and cheese was terrible; the cheese was congealed rather than melted, and the noodles were overcooked. The collard greens were good, but pairing them with the tangy ribs was a bit overwhelming. The cornbread was nastyI won't be ordering from here again. I think the BBQ sauce works best on chicken, not ribs, which I believe should have a smoky flavor. The ribs fell off the bone easily, which isn't impressive since that's pretty standard. I spent $45 on Uber rides and wasted my time and money. The person who made the mac and cheese clearly doesn't understand the science of good cheese you need a funky cheese, a melting cheese, and a flavorful cheese. Instead, it was just congealed cheese on overcooked noodles. Overall, takeout here is disappointing, and I prefer cooking my own meals to avoid this kind of trash.

Food- 2/5 Service- ok Ambiance- ok This used to be a place that one would guarantee a delicious meal... over the years things have changed. I had a taste for a pre Thanksgiving meal and therefore I ordered from Royal Rib House. My latest meal consisted of beef ribs collard greens potato salad yams and baked mac n cheese. The ribs were ok. The sauce was unique and it had a nice flavor. The texture was a bit strange so I couldn't eat them. The candy yams were heavy with the flavor of cinnamon. The Mac and cheese was a no. The cheese was not tasty and there wasn't any flavor. The greens were different... odd yet tasty thank God or I wouldn't have eaten. The potato salad was watery... over $50 worth of food and completely not worth it! No thumbs, no more ordering here. Thanks for the memories

Fried chicken potato salad candied yams

I ordered this for delivery since I don't have patience to stand on a long line. I ordered Fried Chicken with potato salad, candied yams and a side of chopped bbq. The fried chicken was fairly moist and decently seasoned and a nice size breast and wing. Candied yams were decent. The potato salad was meh. Way to watery. I keep searching for a good restaurant potato salad and it seems hopeless. The chopped bbq was good and I would order it again, I just wish they had sent a side of bbq sauce with it. I'll try some of the other sides but the potato is a no for me

This is grease by the way not gravy nor bbq sauce yuck

My family member ordered chopped bbq which cost her $21 dollars and it was filled with grease! Unacceptable! I assume the service was okay I usually hear they are just okay. But freeze come on

Food was so good, I felt as if I was in Nashville, TN. LARGE portions that makes it a impossible to not share and probably still have left overs. The staff was kind, friendly and readily available to serve you. Small space but it has enough space to dine in.

    Old Food it smells horrible!!!

I went with two friends so were able to try three different sandwiches and to be honest, they were all just alright. The food: Roast Pork Special- Fried Eggplant, Provolone, Broccoli Rob- The texture of the pork came off a bit dry, the eggplant was good but kinda gets lost in the sandwich so if I literally had it on it's own I would have appreciated it more but who eats fried eggplant by itself? The rob was nice it added a nice crunch but didn't offer that much flavor. Giuseppe Special- Eggplant parm, meatballs, melted mozzarella. I couldn't get over how soggy the bread was. It was like wet paper towel to me. Soggy bread and everything kinda tasting the same made it underwhelming. Nicky Special- It just tasted like salad in between bread. There was so much veg, that was the main thing I remember in that sandwich.

And one of the greatest chefs I've ever had the pleasure to know. And I've known my share of cats who made their livings and their names in a kitchen. From the very first day I discovered Brancaccio's I felt a magic a connection that I knew would change my life, make my belly really f--kin' happy and set my soul a-dancin'. On that first day Joe and I talked about the great food of NY; most of it gone but not forgotten by those who were of the time. We both lamented the lose of the legendary Zito's bakery on Bleecker. I can't tell you how long it had been since I'd ran into someone who even remembered Zito's much less was intimate with the place. I knew I was home. This was well over a decade ago. I won't go into specific things on Joe's menu that are worth trying because quite literally... everything is amazing. It just is! Soul satisfying beyond my ability to do justice to. I'd also like to throw out as an example of the humanity of the joint and it's capt. Joe... Joe treats his employees with respect, R E S P E C T as Aretha belted, dignity and the aforementioned humanity which is beautiful and virtually non-existent these days as far as I can see... and you can taste it in his food. That's just a big-ass Right On! Finally I like to say two or three things: First that as I initially identified myself as "used to being a regular" as and this is by no means a boo-hoo thing simply a fact... I fell pretty ill for a while and am just now beginning my reentry into the world. And as a matter of fact during the recent drag of days for me a thought kept slamming into the walls of my head and that was that I couldn't wait to once again sink my teeth into Joe's food. Well that day is here and I'm salivating at the thought. "I'll take one of everything my man!" Secondly, understand I've never written anything like this... I'm actually down on the whole review culture. So if this sounds at all "over the top"... or written by a cousin who Joe owes money to, get that thought right out of your head. All of I said is sincere and one from the heart. And lastly an additional "oh yea baby" to Joe's taste in music.

Allow me to put it in perspective, this is gas station food on steroids. Located in Red Hook (and all it takes is to go outside and see you are in Red Hook), this nondescript bodega serves up one heck of a sandwich that will have you thinking, did I just eat that? This is not your ordinary New York bodega, this is the shop of General Ock, who sells various sandwiches in his renowned Ocky Way. So what is the Ocky Way? The Ocky Way is not just a sandwich with lettuce, tomato, and onions, it is also about presentation and style. The sandwich is made loudly with a flair for the dramatic, from the time your food hits the flat top to when it is center cut and put in a clamshell container. What about the food? It really is pretty good! I got the Chopped Cheese the Ocky Way and it was something I really enjoyed. I recommend you get it with the Jamaican Patty as that is what makes the flavors work best. You can also do it with a waffle or pancake or whatever bread you like. All you have to do is scarf it down. You can also put your own toppings on your sandwich if you want for an extra premium à la Farmer in the Deli style. Farmer in the Deli is another well known bodega in Fort Greene, known for finely chopping their meat into a sandwich, one I highly recommend as well. Even after writing this review, I still cannot believe what I ate here. Before I finish this review, I have to say one more thing. Neva neva neva forget to get a drink with your order!
