We love our home, but it is now getting close to 20 years old and getting a bit dated. We decided it was time to completely redo (down to the studs) our kitchen, wet bar, entertainment center, and fireplace. We hired our own designer, and she created a preliminary design so we would have an effective way to communicate what we wanted to our potential contractors. Next, we started interviewing contractors. We talked to contractor after contractor and could not find anyone we felt could do the job, we felt comfortable working with and were open to using our design. Finally, we met Stan from Royal Remodeling and Design. He was the first designer we spoke with who inspired our confidence, had great ideas to add to our design, and a realistic approach to the project. Stan was easy to work with, responsive, and helpful. He was able to expand the room around our central island, so now two or more people can easily work in the kitchen at once. He changed the cabinet sizes from custom to semi-custom, which had no impact on the finished product but saved us a significant amount of money. He provided us with a detailed design for the project. Having this detailed design was a key reason the project went so smoothly, and we were so pleased in the end. When it was time to start construction, Vic took over the project. Royal set up a group text, and we knew every day who was coming and when. We really appreciated Royal's respect for our time and almost daily communication. Whenever any issue arose, we knew we could text Royal and they would be right on it. Vic was at our home most days and was on top of every aspect of the project. Simply great project management and quick problem solving. Royal had relationships with all the vendors we needed to work with for our appliance, tile, granite, and plumbing. We were able to make appointments with their vendors and get the help we needed to pick these out. From there, Royal took over and placed the orders and coordinated all the deliveries. We are not new to the home construction process. We have designed and custom built two homes in Idaho. After moving to Florida, we purchased an older home that needed a remodel. We worked with 3 different contractors to get bids on a full remodel of our bathroom. We were immediately most confident with Royal. Stan was able to describe in detail what they needed to do and the process they would follow. We waited for the other bids and Royal was neither the most expensive nor the cheapest but selecting Royal was an easy decision for us. We also added to our original scope and Stan was very accommodating in helping us include the additional work. Stan invited us to the showroom to select our cabinets, tile and countertops. I'll never forget the evening of September 28, 2022, when my family and I were hunkered down in our home listening to the unnerving sounds of Hurricane Ian's initial devastating winds ripping the shingles off our roof, which allowed water to then flow unimpeded into our attic. Shortly thereafter, we watched in disbelief as water started pouring in through every can light and AC vent, until eventually the ceiling began to collapse room by room throughout the house. The drywall crashed down, breaking glass and knocking things off the walls, water poured in everywhere, and soggy blown in insulation avalanched down into piles like snow, destroying just about everything below. Our kitchen, dining room, two living rooms, laundry room, three bedrooms, a bathroom, and our lanai were all destroyed. The storm didn't let up for another seven hours, and all we could do was watch the water rain down from the now exposed underside of the roof decking, completely drenching and ruining just about everything in our home. To say we were traumatized and couldn't even conceive getting things put back in order would be a gross understatement at that moment. Which is why it's difficult to express how thankful for, and how appreciative our family is of Royal Remodel and Design. The knowledge, design expertise, compassion, communication, and skill of their entire company, crew, and subcontractors they affiliate with, in my opinion, are unparalleled in their segment of the market. First and foremost, they showed integrity, Stan and Vic were upfront with us as they had jobs in progress that also were damaged from the storm, which setback the timeline on the finish date of those jobs, but they were committed to what they had agreed to do for those customers. Once those jobs were completed, they then were able to prioritize our home as it was unlivable and given our large family and multiple pets, we did not have a desirable living situation away from our home. From the time we started working with Royal Remodel and Design, through the completion of the job, I've never heard of a construction project going so smoothly. Almost our entire home was gutted out, and with Royal Remodel and Design's help, we moved walls around and redesigned the layout of the interior of our home. The new layout could not have turned out better, our home has been transformed into what feels like a custom-built space, designed just for our family (which I guess it really is), and we couldn't imagine it any other way now. They also had a vast array of products to go through and assisted as we picked out all new Idea Ceramica flooring, Fabuwood Allure Galaxy cabinets, Pompeii countertops, and so on. The end result turned out absolutely stunning, and our home now looks like it belongs in a designer magazine. As an Interior Designer I knew trying to do a whole house renovation in Sarasota Florida from long distance would be difficult. I would need to find a quality contractor, reliable, honest and with some taste. I found all this and more with Royal Remodeling & Design. We recently moved to the Sarasota/Bradenton area and purchased a home in UPCC. We chose Royal Remodeling and Design to redesign and remodel our kitchen and laundry room. We are very happy with the end result and when the time comes we will use them again to remodel our bathrooms. As new residents to the SRQ/BDN area we spent a lot of time researching local remodeling companies. Having previously remodeled a couple of kitchens and baths we knew we wanted to work with a company that was full service, honest, professional, responsive, friendly and fair priced. We asked friends and neighbors for recommendations and searched the internet and social media for positive reviews. The excellent reviews for Stan and Vik at Royal Remodeling and Design on social media and Houzz landed them high on our list of candidates. The first thing that impressed us with Royal Remodeling and Design was Stan's sincere and personal approach right from the start. Stan is busy but he returned our call within the same day and listened to our wants and concerns as well as reasoning behind our project budget. He gave us information regarding past jobs, the makeup of the company and their values. Soon after that we had our first in-person appointment at our home. Stan treated us like our job was his project already. He toured our space and reviewed our initial wishlist. He gave us a few ideas, options and suggestions based upon our style, space and budget. He also provided some general project timelines and estimates yet he never made us feel pressured. As part of our initial in home meeting, Stan took measurements so he could draft a plan based upon our discussions. We scheduled a followup appointment in their downtown Sarasota showroom to review the plans the next week. The RRD showroom is well stocked with semi custom cabinetry in a variety of styles and colors as well as tile and flooring options, cabinet hardware and countertop samples. Even better, Stan had taken our ideas and prepared a plan which also included basic pricing. We did have a few changes but Stan handled them with patience and got us what we wanted. Almost like a Genie ;) By the second meeting we were confident in the direction the project was heading and we confirmed we would be using RRD. We set up one additional appointment at their showroom on Main Street. Stan and his sister Lili helped us finalize our plan and make the remaining design selections including our beautiful Cambria Quartz countertops. Once we were set with the final plans and contract, Stan made another appointment at our home to review our design and go over the technical aspect with his business partner Vik, who is in charge bringing the project to life. Once the project started the Royal Remodeling and Design team kept us informed all the way. They put together a project group text and we were always kept up to date on what was going on as well as being able to ask questions. There were very few delays or setbacks and the project flowed seamlessly from day one. We were able to live in our home during the process and they worked very hard to keep things orderly. We have hired Royal Remodel & Design twice now. The first time was when needed to renovate our newly purchased outdated condo in Heritage Oaks Golf and Country Club in Sarasota. We interviewed five contractors and chose Royal Remodeling & Design because we thought Stan had the best ideas and the most enthusiasm. Royal Remodeling did a fantastic job on our master bathroom suite. We had a pretty extensive remodel which included moving around most of the plumbing and creating new walls for the space.
