I have been a patient at Royal Oaks dentistry since I was a kid. You know how everyone always dreads going to the dentist? I've never had had that experience (other than the one time my mom tried to take me to a dentist who was closer to home, who I visited once and asked for Dr. Collins immediately after). I'm not a typical patient either. I have horrible anxiety when seeing doctors, being in a doctor's office or hospital, and don't get me started on my syringe anxiety. As a kid, Dr. Ron Collins was my dentist and now I see Dr. Dath Collins. Dr. Ron was so sweet and funny. When I had a cavity and needed the shot to numb my gums, he would tell me it's a water gun, and I believed him because you literally couldn't feel a thing when he gave you the shot. Dr. Dath has the same gentle touch and great bedside manner. Thank goodness he is continuing the legacy! I wholeheartedly believe that these two are some of the most caring, nurturing dentists there are (not to mention just great mean in general). They're not only invested in your dental hygiene but also your life. Any time I've had any major work done there, I haven't felt any pain and they make sure you're comfortable and relaxed. And then there are the dental hygienists and administrative staff... Did you think the review was going to take a turn? Well, sorry to disappoint because these folks are also stellar!! You can't go wrong with any of the staff here. The one hygienist who sometimes was a bit abrasive (personality-wise) is no longer there, so I promise you will be treated with the greatest level of care. My family has been patients of Royal Oaks Dentistry for over 20 years and will never go anywhere else. Dr. Ron Collins has a calming gentle spirit and is dedicated to his patients...I have first hand experience. I had a root canal (done by my previous dentist) give me serious problems. Dr. Collins and his WIFE, who were on the golf course, came in to the office on a Saturday and made a bite guard for me just to help ease the pain (we couldn't do any procedures until the antibiotics worked on an infection). He has always gone out of his way to make us comfortable. Dr. Dath Collins has an equally gentle and caring spirit. Linda our sweet hygienist has provided excellent preventive care and is always going out of her way to keep us relaxed and at ease. I love Dr. Collins (both of them) and the Royal Oaks Dentistry staff. This has been my dentistry of choice for over 25 years! I don't normally write reviews, good or bad. But it is my pleasure to tell anyone looking for an excellent dentist to visit Royal Oaks Dentistry. You will not be disappointed. I am one of those weak patients who requires extreme measures to prevent pain, even for a simple cleaning! But the staff is very accommodating and they make sure I am absolutely comfortable during the process. I temporarily left Royal Oaks Dentistry because of a job change out of the area, but after trying several other dentists, I returned to Royal Oaks Dentistry, though it was not convenient to do so. I have been a patient of both Dr. Ron Collins & Dr. Dath Collins for over 15 years & they are the most caring & sensitive dentists I have ever gone to. I am a BIG BABY :-) when it comes to dental work & I have had plenty done! Root canals, partial bridge, old fillings replaces, wisdom tooth extracted. Both doctors know how nervous I get & I always tell them to load me up with shots & turn up the gas ;-) so I don't feel a thing! They always take care of me & I don't feel anything. Also they call to check on me the evening of the procedure. They want to make sure their patients are ok. Once when out of town, my daughter was having severe pain with her wisdom teeth, I called the office & let them know what was going on(this was on a Saturday), Dr. Dath called back right away & called in a prescription for her & was very concerned. Royal Oaks Dentistry is by far more than just a dentist's office. It's a family practice that welcomes you as one of their own! My husband and I have been with the Collins family for more than 8 years, and even after moving to Dallas and then Oklahoma, they were always so accommodating and kind enough to work us in for a cleaning when we were in town visiting. Not only that, Lou (the best receptionist in the world) would watch my newborn at the time while I was getting my teeth cleaned! Now that our little girl is 3 years old, she's our family's newest patient at Royal Oaks, and Miss Jennifer did an amazing job with her first cleaning. She was the most patient I've ever seen a hygienist be with a 3 year old and it was a great experience all around! I have been going to Royal Oaks Dentistry since I was a little kid. I'm now 32 and I have 3 children of my own who have their teeth taken care of by the amazing staff at Royal Oaks! I love this place so much that even when I was living in the Conroe area I still drove down here to see them! Everyone in the front office is friendly and welcoming. They call you by name when they see you and they always have a smile! The hygienists have always been patient, caring and gentle. Dr. Collins and Dr. Dath. I can't say enough about them. I have had 2 wisdom teeth removed. One by Dr. Collins and one by Dr. Dath and both times were amazingly easy. The removal was a breeze and I had no pain afterward. None. My husband and I have been going to Dr Dath Collins for around 6 years now. We are both extremely happy with every aspect of this practice. Before going to Dr Collins I had somehow managed to avoid going to the dentist for a number of years out of fear and the longer you leave it - the worse it gets... Well, I finally managed to convince myself it was time to go. I could not be happier with the result. Dr Dath put me at ease and was extremely sensitive to my concerns and worries. I had a crown replaced & throughout the whole procedure he reassured me that he would stop at any moment - I just had to hold up my hand. The work done was perfect & I have not had any problems with it. Since then, I have been every six months for check ups and cleaning. As long as I live in Houston, I will NOT be changing my dentist. Dr. Ron Colllins and Dr. Dath Collins are amazing dentists! I have been seeing Dr. Ron for over 20 years even when I have lived in other cities and states! He did the bonding on my teeth and they look PERFECT like out of a Glamour magazine. People are always complimenting my teeth and telling me how beautiful they are. He also has bonded both of my parents teeth and none of us will have bonding anywhere else. In addition, they are very honest. I was living in California and had to have a cleaning and the dentist told me I had 2 cavities. I decided I would just have Dr. Ron Collins fill them when I went home for the holidays. These guys are great! My wife and I both loved the care provided by Ron & Dath. I went through the Invisiline process with Dath and couldn't be any happier with the results. He went the extra mile by affixing fixed retainers after my teeth were straight to ensure they stayed straight. My wife and I consistently liked the hygienists and the office staff, too. You can tell it's a great place to work - which makes it a great place to visit! About three years ago we stopped visiting Royal Oaks Dentistry because we moved to Austin, and we still talk about how much we miss this dentistry. For over 40 years now Dr. Ron has been my dentist. There are good reasons for this - he is GREAT and since I have known and seen his son Dr. Dath in action for about the last 6-7 years I'm sure I'll feel the same way for the next 40 years. Not only are they the absolute best, but everyone that works with them there that I have had experience with are also as good and nice as they come. Their friendliness and skill cannot be beaten. My 92 year old mother has also been a patient for almost as long and feels exactly the same way. We feel very fortunate to have had such excellent care and experiences for such a long time. Royal Oaks Dentistry is a very well managed office from scheduling appointments to dealing with insurance. I started coming here recommended by a friend and really has been an eye opener to see how great dentist they are. I was so tired of the boutique style offices with fancy stuff and not knowing what was next. I have been seeing Dr. Collins for my dentistry needs since 2007. I am in my late 20's now and I can't recommend Royal Oaks Dentistry enough. I initially became a patient there in order to have some bonding done before my wedding. My smile came out beautifully and I still get compliments on my smile to this day... Since then, I have continued to see them for all of my check-ups and cleanings. They are very professional and thorough, taking care to check for oral cancer and other various things during my visit. The only dentist I'll ever see again. A couple of years ago I was suffering from major bone loss and the stability of my teeth were seriously compromised. Dr Collins took care of me after 3 other dentists just referred me out. He walked me through the process step by step gave me choices in how we could approach the problem and left me feeling at ease and in total control of my own treatment. My family have been patients here for about 2 years. I absoluetly love it. My daighter is now 6 but at the age of 5 she needed to get a tooth extracted, and i was sooo nervous about putting her under. Dr. Collins and the nurses and staff showed me that i had other options.
