Before I ordered my truck, I did do some research on different dealerships reviews and seems like Royal Oak offer the best car buying service. I did have a good experience. Had some initial discussion through their website and email with Jamall. Then I just walk in, told him what model and color I want, confirm the price and discount. Paid a $500 deposit, 6 month later I picked up my truck. Before I picked up, 80% of the work can be done through email exchanges. I think Sales prefer it that way too. I only had to be in the dealership for about 1 hour to pick up my truck, just to sign a lot paperwork and verify everything. Only down side is, Ford right now only offer 5.5% for 48month even with good credit unless you are buying something no one wants like a Mach-E . I can't comments on service/repair yet. After calling twice over the past month and leaving a message to schedule a recall repair, I went online and made an appointment last week for today at 10am. I showed up before 10, stood there in by the service counter and was ignored. A guy behind the counter was looking at his phone. I said I had an appointment, he gave me a look and said "he was just an advisor, and someone should meet me. 3 other service members were talking amongst themselves and I was not acknowledged. That ticked me off, so I'll go to a different Ford dealer. Being in the service industry myself, that is a perfect example of poor customer service that is completely unprofessional. I spoke with Mariah on the phone to make an appointment for an oil change for the Lincoln. Never bought a vehicle here or had any service done, even though it's very close to home. The oil has been overdue for several months now. Don't want any further issues or any for that matter. Maria informed me that they are about two weeks out on getting appointments for an oil change. I had a schedule for two weeks out at 11 AM on a Friday. I parked my car when I arrived in a lot adjacent to the service area. The woman at the front desk told me to pull in the service garage. Guess they don't do that here. There is a cool Shelby for sale for $165k. It looks amazing. Iris waited on me at the first desk. $72 is quite reasonable for an oil change, tire rotation and break check. Takes about an hour and a half. At the lounge before 11AM. I am number 82, will call me on the monitor when I am done. They even sent me a text message in case I need to communicate back to the service department at all. They are closed at 1PM due to the Woodward dream cruise today. My car was done in less than 40 minutes. Not too bad. Service was good from beginning to end. Tell service advisor Phil Yang to be polite when he screws up. I was scheduled to have my Mustang Mach E serviced today. He had called me and set the date to have my 10k done and the recall. He said a loaner would be available. When I got there I found out that what you needed to complete the recall wasn't there and he hadn't requested the loaner. There were no loaner vehicles available. I drove 30 minutes to get and had another appointment. All he had to do was call me and explain the problem I would have rescheduled. I was stunned and he thought it was funny. He was being a complete jerk! Do you seriously hire people like this? I'll find another dealer hopefully their staff will be more courteous. read more

If you want that, I suggest you take your car in for service at this location. Otherwise, AVOID. I will say that the staff here is polite, friendly, and professional...except in their pricing. GAUGING. I'm warning you here. Don't take their word on pricing and seek outside bids if you need any work done to your car. Otherwise, be prepared to hand over at least an extra $500. I have never had a good expwrience here. This latest and last time was to buy a new EcoSpirt. My salesman said one was due in. I was ready to buy. I heard nothong from him then for a few days. A couple calls to make sure we were on track were never returned. Then when I finally talk to him, he said he was out for a few days and someone else sold the car. I ask if he can try and get another, but he won't even try to get another saying it's "next to impossible". Then despite me saying I'm not interested in a used car, he keeps telling me about a used one. I finally agree to look at it... we walk outside and it's not there. We go in and he calls somebody and then tells me "we dont have the title to it yet." (A car they have in their system as "for sale"). So I ask "will I get to use my A-Plan discount?" "Um... No... thats only for new cars." Like the one they sold out from under me and then refused to even look for a comperable new one. VERY disappointed with these guys. I found a vehicle on their website. It was listed as in stock and gave me the option to buy now. I went through the entire purchase. Went though financing process. They ran my credit multiple times. I was approved and thought i had got the car. Only to have them tell me the next morning that it was someone else's. NOT happy. Let's just say every time I take my car into their shop they say nothings wrong with it. I guess that's a good thing but when you know something is specifically wrong with one facet of the interior and you were told there's nothing wrong it's very irritating. Unfortunately, after they had my car for 4 1/2 days I was just ready to pick it up and frustrated as well. I made a video of one of the issues and you can clearly hear the issue in the video but there's nothing wrong supposedly and I'm just crazy. I'm going to now be forced to take my car to another Ford dealer because everyone that has been in my car has made comments about all of the things I know that are wrong with my car but yet there's nothing wrong with the car and our ears just must be playing tricks on us. They might do good work but I would never know. Took my car in a year ago for brake work. Took them 24 hrs just for them to tell me it would be 4-5 days!!!! Recently I book an appointment a month in advance for brake/suspension inspection only. Dropped it off early in the morning on the day of my appointment. 10 hrs later and an hour before they close they didn't even touch my car! I ordered the Ford Maverick last October and it has been the worst first time car buyer experience. Ford send these incredibly false and miss leading emails with dates that they can never make. As well as me telling the dealership new information that Ford has. How does that happen? I have more info just be researching than the dealership? If I knew it would have been this long I would have went with a different company. Ford said it would be here in February and then said it to be delivered in September and by that time my car had to get a $1,000 repair. I sold my car after and now ive been without a car for almost two months because Ford can't seem to give me an accurate timeline. Today i ubered to the dealership which is an hour away because I was supposed to pick up the vehicle. So I went to Royal Oak Ford because my dad bought all of his cars there and I bought a used car here about 10 years ago. This was my first brand new car. My salesman Lawrence Young was really helpful and so patient. I went back and fourth between cars and took a few days to think it over. I was asking Lawrence questions the whole time and he was great! The actual process of financing and signing the paperwork is so incredibly slow. It took 3 hours! I don't know if that's normal but it's unpleasant. The dealership itself is nice inside. The usual water/coffee are available. The bathroom was clean. The receptionist was friendly. One side of the dealership is for used cars and the other side is for new and service. The parking isn't great. It's on Woodward so it's limited a little narrow. I'm happy with my car and the service. I'll return to Lawrence for my future vehicle needs. read more

Terrible service. My husband and I finally got the chance to go out on a Saturday to buy a new car. We work crazy hours during the week, and on this particular Saturday, I got out of work early (at 2:15). Royal Oak Ford is open Saturday's until 3, so everything worked out perfect! We headed that way and we got there at 2:40. We walked in, I had pay stubs, W2 in a file (fully prepared to buy a new car), and we were so excited to buy our new car! We were greeted (I guess we will use that word) by a man at a desk by the door, who did not even stand upon our arrival. He asked us how he could help. We said that we wanted to buy a new car. Here was the response that we got: "Well, we close at 3." "We know, we are so sorry! We got here as quickly as we could, we just got out of work. we will be fast, we know what we want." "Well we don't stay past 3 on Saturdays. Can you come back Monday? We are open until 9." "No, we can't Monday, we are on opposite work schedules and we can't. You can't stay just fifteen minutes?" "Well what do you guys do, that you can't come in at that time?" ARE YOU SERIOUS?! This is an example of poor customer service and pure laziness. This man was not willing to stay fifteen minutes later to help us purchase a car. My husband and I have both been in the service industry. We know how it is when people come in when you are about to close. This, however, was not just to buy a $20 meal, or a pair of jeans. This was a BRAND NEW CAR. We stormed out of the dealership, drove down the street to Suburban Ford in Ferndale. We were greeted with open arms, and left about a half hour later with a brand new, Ford Fusion hybrid. We're not satisfied unless you are, and we bring this philosophy into every Ford sales and service interaction we have at our Ford dealership in Royal Oak, MI." A direct quote from their website. These are clearly just words on the screen and mean nothing. I called to ask about pricing on a used vehicle. The sales guy told me "We sell our vehicles at or below fair market value." I explained that the price I was offering was "below market value." I made multiple cash offers. They don't like cash because they prefer financing yet he told me it wouldn't change the price of the vehicle? Then why do you prefer financing? I also explained that NOBODY pays sticker price. He then told me to have a good day and hung up on me. I called back and spoke to Mike McKenzie, the General Sales Manager. I explained what happened and he stated he didn't know why one of his employees would hang up on me. I explained it was because the guy was a dick! Mike then told me I wasn't too great myself. Understandable as I was obviously a little heated. He essentially defended his employee and was not interested in selling a $30,000 vehicle, even if I was paying in cash. After reading other reviews, I'm not surprised. Seems like just another run of the mill dealership run by a bunch of egotistical salesman who are holier than thou. When I go to buy a car, I tell you what kind I'm looking for, and then you constantly try to push something else because it's overstocked.... you are annoying me. The salesman was nice enough, and maybe this technique works on others... but figure it out. And when I ask the price... just tell me the price. Don't wait to see what type of rate your in house financing will get me... don't tell me you have to wait till my potential trade in car has been appraised (of which they offered me significantly less than 4 other dealerships and wouldn't budge on it either)....don't make me wait till I meet the manager... just tell me the GD price. It's 2014 people. We all have the Internet. The old school way of selling cars is dying. Just give me the facts and you will get my business. Instead, my time wasted... I can be armed with all the data and facts about cars in the world, and still feel belittled, ignorant, and ripped off when trying to negotiate the price of a vehicle. I admit I approached a visit to Royal Oak Ford with trepidation. Half my cars were purchased through private sales strictly to avoid a runaround that car salesmen tend to give, so I entered this domain with a rather jaded eye and expectations for the worst, but few hopes for the best. I can say Royal Oak Ford makes it easier on the consumer at the outside. Most of their used vehicles are posted online with ample photographs to get a sense for the interior and exterior condition, features, and finer details in advance. Want to know how worn the upholstery is or whether that car comes with an optional GPS system? Look from the comfort of your own bed. The trade-in which caught my eye came with a free vehicle history report I corroborated through CarFax (essential nowadays for any purchase), so before I even stepped foot on the lot, I knew roughly what I was dealing with. Met by a salesman, I was in the vehicle and on my way down Woodward for a test drive in fifteen minutes flat after an initial walkaround. We looked at the various while Mike answered a few questions about the car's history and maintenance records for me. I didn't face the anticipated pressure used by some dealerships elsewhere in the city, where salespeople insist on coming unless you demand vocally otherwise. So I had a good half hour to run the vehicle along I-696, wander through backstreets, testing suspension and handling, sounds at speed, and all those other negligible qualities you look for on a test drive without someone distracting or upselling me. When I got back, I decided to play the negotiation game which, to be frank, I suck at. I came armed with information and managed to whack a few thousand off the asking price. Could I have been more aggressive? You bet. I always feel poorly matched when haggling, but I haven't had buyer's remorse since taking ownership of my two-year old car. Mike promised to get the car detailed and the paperwork assembled while I got the cheque and proof of insurance. The waiting time on the back end was fairly short and obviously a point of getting everything ready, rather than mechanics or salesmen loitering around. They transferred my plates and got me on my way in a few hours, all things said and done, which I appreciated. Mike was thorough explaining my remaining warranty through the dealer, and then options I could purchase. I subtract one star because the finance clerk I dealt with went from friendly to frosty when I declined an extended warranty (in my book, you shouldn't purchase a car that needs one). I bought a 2014 Ford Edge there over the last weekend (Feb 24 2014). At first everything went great. We were running out of time on Saturday to finish the paperwork so we were given the vehicle to take home over the weekend without even completing the transaction. Before we went back in on Monday, I got a call from the salesperson saying that he would refill the tank when they were doing the final prep on it. When we came in that night to sign the paperwork, I was told I would not get the tank of gas. Evidently I was "in the system" already for getting a tank of gas on Saturday. Whatever I guess. I wonder what system they have for gassing up cars. In addition to that on Monday, I noticed a scuff on the left side D Pillar (the trim part that runs along the interior of the back) The sales person told me to bring it back in on Thursday to have the service people work on it. On Thursday, after about 30 minutes, he told me they were able to make the scuff lighter but couldn't clean it off. It wasn't noticeably cleaner. I am not real happy about this. Between a $35 tank of gas and a $25 plastic trim part they have turned me from a "Completely satisfied" customer to one that is getting more and more dissatisfied. Update! Just picked up my Edge from the dealership. They replaced the smudged part, washed it up and gave me a tank of gas! These guys actually do care that you are happy after all and will go the extra mile to ensure that. Do yourself a favor and check them out. read more

I was due to turn my lease in. So I get there a week early, under miles, car is great condition. The girl sits me down to sign some paperwork and of course here comes the catch since I wasn't leasing another new vehicle with them at this time I was charged $395 dollars what a shame. So then she shows me where it says in my agreement about this cost which is complete bull because the gentleman who had me sign everything went super fast and never pointed that out. So during a pandemic when most are struggling to make ends meet Ford decides to still punish there loyal customers who turn cars back in in great condition. Customer satisfaction is not a priority at Royal Oak Ford Body Shop. I am very disappointed with my experience. I had my vehicle in for some body work. They called me to come pick up my vehicle and when I arrived I found that there was a dashboard notification to service my airbag. I notified the body shop and they said they would need to keep the vehicle and send to a dealership to clear the error. They refused to cover my LYFT ride even though they wasted my time and the car was not ready to be picked up. They were willing to let me leave unhappy over a $9.10 issue. Royal Oak Ford would not give a loaner, even though they agreed the problem was covered under warranty. When brought to the service manager's attention, he stated they "only give loaners to their valued customers" and that "it's always at his discretion." I've leased two cars and bought one from Evilasio. He's friendly, understanding, and accommodating. My first lease was an Escape, which I loved. I found myself over my miles with some time to go on my lease and he helped me with a pull ahead offer to get into my Fusion. A year and a half later, my boyfriend found himself without a car after an accident that wasn't his fault. We wanted a Flex for the third row but we also had a strict budget. If you're looking to purchase a vehicle I strongly recommend that you don't stop here. My sister car would not steer. My nephew towed it to Friday to this dealer because this dealer he uses. Monday George calls ms sister to tell her that the car needs $2300 repair work on the steering. She decided that her 2010 Fusion with 190000 miles had ran it course. Tuesday morning after 9am we arrived at Royal Oak Ford asked for new car sales. Devin M. Carrier the sales person assigned to her. My nephew had arrived and joined us. My nephew did the credit application for her on her phone. We told Devin about her situation and asked what would the dealer give her if she trade it in and by a new car. Since the cars was at service she decide to buy at Royal Oak Ford. Devin went to the back, keep in mind each time Devin went to the back he would be gone for 20-50 minutes. He comes back with the Sale Manager I can't remember his name. He introduced himself. $200 was offered for her 2010 Fusion. Her son had spoken to a junkyardand was offered $500 for the 2010 fusion. Devin had to go to the back and discuss it with the sales manager. $500 was agreed. So she decided to move on. She need a car A.S.A.P. Devin goes to the back and state that they're working with the finance department. She had a repo which wasn't her fault but on her credit. He old job was taking the money out of her check but wasn't paying the car note. They was sued and the car was purchased back paid in full. She had to go to work. She cleaned out the car went to work Royal Oak left her a massage to come in tomorrow to sign her papers. I picked her and had her at the dealership around 9am. I did my homework and looked at the kind of car I wanted online and then it was time to actually go out to find the 'car of my dreams'! I walked into Royal Oak Ford and was greeted by salesman, JOHN AGNELLO. After telling him what I thought I wanted, he showed me the car and I realized that's not what I wanted at all! John suggested, that since I wanted an SUV, that I test drive all of them! What a great idea because I quickly realized that I wanted a Ford Edge.
