    After the service was done

    I feel as though I need to share as it's left me feeling swindled after my Outback was in their shop for over 3 weeks. Originally on March 19th, 2024 I had brought my 2012 Outback in for service. I advised Jordan of a water sound coming from the dash. He informed me that the technician would test the system and if there was any issue (including head gaskets) they would be able to diagnose it and get word back to me. I let him know before leaving I tried burping it myself and where I thought the problem might be on front driver side (which turned out to be exactly where it was originating from). Fast forward to March 27,2024 I was given the vehicle back with these notes: "Technician performed cooling system leak test-states no leaks at this time-technician tested headgaskets and vehicle staying at operating temperature. Technician found air in cooling system-technician burped system to correct clients concern. Road tested to verify repairs. Complete. (39 - Nick *****- M284555)" While picking up the vehicle I had noticed coolant on the lower engine cover but was told that was due to having the system burped - then drove home with no issue (5 miles). On March 29th, 2024 I needed to help my father move a storage unit and drove 35 miles there and back to get it done. Half way home my engine dash light came on due to overheating and had to tow it 15 miles back home. I returned the Outback to Hodges 2 days later and was told by Jordan there were blown welds on the radiator, and that the head gaskets have now failed. The repairs to try to undo what was done start at $3000 and would increase as they found more things wrong. Asked about the pressure test and how that would of failed on blown welds? After that he let me know he had miscommunicated in the email and there were not blown welds on the radiator and that this was due to a head gasket failure the whole time. I'm not sure how all of this this would have gone unnoticed with the tests that were performed according to the notes 2 days prior. Especially when a head gasket test was specifically outlined in the work order. After speaking with the service manager Greg I was told there was nothing he could do and that this has now gone from a $500 repair to now a new engine is needed. After I had admittedly lost my temper and started leaving - was approached by Jordan and was told I needed to remove my vehicle right away or they would have in impounded. Luckily I was able to talk to Greg (basically forced to shake his hand) again and have it picked up the next day. They understand they have you at their advantage and it absolutely shows. If this was all found on the original diag it wouldn't be so personal - but the way this was handled was borderline criminal. I'd advise if you do decide to come here to document absolutely everything. I'm now looking at a new engine and maybe some time in small claims once I get the invoice for the new engine.     This was probably the next experience I've had buying a car. I worked with John G and Jeff and both are super professional and personable. John took a lot of time going through the three vehicles I was interested in and understood I was comparing different options. He followed up without being overbearing or pushy, which is so appreciated. I ended up going with a certified pre-owned 2017 Forester and I LOVE it. John collected all the information needed so going in to complete everything was super smooth and quick.

    Was promised that the vehicle I purchased was in immaculate condition and nothing was wrong with it. I asked many questions about the vehicle and was lied to by the salesperson. I was told that I could bring the vehicle back as soon as I get my title in the mail. The sales person then changed her mind days later. This dealership is in violation of the Michigan consumer protection act. Even if a vehicle is sold as is, if the sales person or dealership misrepresent or lie about something you ask, they are liable still. That is the exception to the "as is" rule, And yes, I have documentation/proof of this as well. I left a voicemail for the supervisor today. This has been going on for a week now. (Within half an hour after driving the vehicle off the lot, I was having problems.) The dealership would not even carry out their own wheel and tire plan which they sold! I have taken it twice within a week. Very unhappy about this. Update: I STILL have not received my full refund!!!

The same day car started squeaking. When I came back mechanic sent me away with a completely rusted out broken brake pressure hose, telling me that i could drive the car on the highway with no problems. The other mechanic I went to changed those, then rotors and pads, then the other wheel bearing. Nothing helped. Finally I drove by tire outlet and decided to give them a try. They looked at my car and gave me a price. The changed all the brakes hardware, but the squeak didn't go away. So the took the car back and worked on it until my brakes finally stopped squeaking. They didn't charge me a penny extra even though they ended up working on my car way more that they originally estimated. Thank you Tire Outlet! You guys are now my first choice for all the car repairs I might ever need.

I had unexpected trouble with my car and brought it to tire outlet without calling. They got me in right away without a scheduled appointment. They took time to test multiple features and ensure they were diagnosing the correct problem. They were upfront and did not try to sell me services that may not be needed after testing showed functional parts. When I requested additional areas be serviced, they looked into it and called back with a quote in a very timely manner. All work was completed quickly. I highly recommend tire outlet!

He was very up front and honest about what the possible issue was and how much the repair might cost. He was very professional, and did not make me feel dumb or uncomfortable for asking questions. Totally understood and left my keys with them to walk home. While I was still on the phone with the insurance adjuster by the CVS next door, he called me to tell me they fixed it. I couldn't believe it. I was so worried about how I was going to be able to rent a car to get to work the next day. It turns out it was a missing nut/bolt (don't know where it could've gone). They replaced it, were super honest and didn't charge me for the lone screw. Whatever that screw would've cost them now has made me a loyal and returning customer. Unfortunately, on a Sunday morning there are not a lot of choices to choose from...then I googled closest mechanic near me and this place popped up. I called ahead and was quickly greeted by a nice guy who told me to bring my car in and the team will take a look at it. I slowly drove over to the mechanic shop and was pleasantly surprised by how clean the shop was AND the professionalism of the staff. The gentlemen working the front desk was very nice and made me feel really comfortable. I ended up getting more air in all of my tires by another super nice gentlemen who was happy to help me. They checked all four of my tires to ensure I was ready for the road. It's safe to say, I truly appreciated that they were not only open on a Sunday when everyone else was closed but how fast, efficient, and KIND every person was. What I loved most was the fact no one tried to sell me on anything and the staff seemed to really care about me - the customer. For this alone, I definitely can see the value of of coming when my car needs additional service. I highly recommend checking this place out if you're in the area and in need of an excellent team to take care of your vehicle.

I came to this business to get a slow leak fixed. They proceeded to try and sell me two new tires instead of just fixing the slow leak. I told them I didn't want to buy two new tires today; especially since they were pricing them over and above what was being offered on the Goodyear site for the same tires. I asked them why that was. They came some bs excuse that the price online wasn't including the labor or the road protection plan. REALLY! I wonder if they would have pulled the same crap, if I was a guy!! I thanked them for their time. They said they understood and would fill the tire before giving me the keys back. Well, guess what they didn't even put air in the tire. This is the car that my 18 yr old daughter drives to get her back and forth to school. Real class act they are, not!! I definitely will not be spending my money there. I was able to get the tire fixed at Costco. I will be buying the tires from a business that isn't trying to cheat or lie to me and offers excellent customer service.
