I bought a vehicle from their pre-owned lot. They said it was "Ford Certified". Within two weeks of driving it I got a check engine light. Turned out to be a bad catalytic converter. I'm having a hard time believing they went over the vehicle and didn't know. The dealership has offered no help. They simply stated that the catalytic converter is considered a "wear item" that isn't covered by their warranty. Service is precisely why I have always had my ford vehicles taken care of by Dean Sellars Ford. My most recent experience continues to convince me that this auto dealer is the one to use. Most recently, I purchased four new tires for our 2019 Ford Edge. After a few weeks my wife noticed a shimming of the steering wheel which I confirmed after driving the vehicle myself. I contacted my service advisor (Briana) who agreed that I should bring the car back for further servicing. After several attempts they were unable to correct the problem. Suspecting a "warranty" problem of defective tires instead, they further documented that indeed the tires were defective. Briana and service associates replaced all the tires free of charge and also took the responsibility of following up with the tire manufacturer. Problem solved without inconveniencing the customer. The service personnel, including my service adviser, are excellent. A special thank you to Briana. read more

This place is unreal. Stopped in for an oil change and 21 point inspection, we recently purchased another car so we wanted to get an estimate to sell our current car. After a run around, we finally got to the right people, they told us we had over $3k worth of fixes..... including the items the FMC 21 point inspection assured us were fine just 30 minutes prior. When we mentioned they just passed the inspection, we were assured "that other group doesn't know what is going on." Overall, they are disappointing and we will not return. read more

Roger Hutchinson is the worse.. He will tell you anything to close a deal and not have to redo the paperwork. My fist time around I got a lease and he told me yes it has this gadgets and the other... and at the time when he delivered the car to me (Covid time) I had signed and then realized the car was not the way he sold it to me... then I change the lease during the chip shortage and the cara where so few... and he told me I could extend the lease for one year if I wanted... I called ford this was not true... the. I called him very early and he was like don't worry there is plenty of time and then realized the if I don't take the car with in 90 days to competitor dealer... then other dealers can not buy my car...(Roger was probably counting on that... then I called and he was like yes I'll work with you we can get you into a demo or a really good deal, just to never call... I definitely do not recommend using Roger Hutchinson for your deal.... Stay away from that person. I was fooled 2 times by the same person. Have him a second chance just to realized it was not a mistake but just a bad person... read more

I really don't know what the service department at Dean Sellers is thinking. They're probably thinking that everyone's a fool. Here's my story & somehow I sincerely hope someone in this family run business reads my review. I went to their service department to have a battery issue checked. That was a mistake because I normally would call AAA & buy a battery from them (which they install on a service call.) However, my 2018 Explorer had a strange message on the screen that said "system turned off to save power", and the engine would not start right away-like when the battery was weak. But because of the message on the screen I wanted a mechanic to check it out-big mistake. So after 1/2 hour I get a text that I needed a new battery (which I already figured out myself). Then came the bad news: $1,100+ for the complete job! WHAT? I was told the cable was corroded & needed replacement, WHAT? Is a battery cable made of platinum? The service man, MONTY, said it was a special part & was extremely expensive. NO KIDDING! No way was I going to let someone rip me off like that. I told him NO and that I just wanted my car, no service. I asked Monty what if I didn't want a new cable, just a new battery, he quotes me $650. Do they expect me to believe that a simple battery replacement costs $600 & a battery cable costs $600 to replace? To add injury to insult, I had to pay $175 diagnostic fee to Sellers Ford to tell me my battery was bad. I was fuming! Anyways, after I picked up my Explorer, I went to a car parts store, O'REILLY (which I will review later) and inquired about a new battery & if they had time to install. The man behind the counter said he would Get his battery tester & he confirmed the battery needed replacement, but the corroded battery TERMINAL, not the cable, needed replacement, too & he couldn't perform that service but could direct me to a gas station down the street who could. He's extremely honest with any repairs that I needed for my car. However, the service manager is definitely rude and tends to talk to his employees in an aggressive manner. This review is for their used vehicle department. I found a used F150 advertised online and made an appointment with the salesman to see it the next day. However, when I got there they had raised the price of the F150 $4,300 even though it was being advertised online for much lower. I got several different BS answers from different salesman why and they refused to honor the online advertised price. Also, once the salesman found out I had a loan approval letter from my personal bank and they couldn't beat the terms, he wanted nothing to do with me and ignored me. Very unprofessional staff, just looking to rob you. This dealer is the reason places like Carvana now exist. read more

Bought a used Cadillac ATS here a year ago during the end of summer from the used car lot. I realize this is a "used" car but they essentially were selling a car with a hairline crack thru the drivers side of the windshield, a car with only one half working key FOB (was told that was all that came with the car) and essentially worn tires (they said they were new, my tire meter and discount tire said they were 3/32nds). They were selling the car for $2k above blue book. I asked during the negotiation process if they could fix any of the issues or take some money off the top which they did not do. Further more, I asked if they could take some pin stripping off the car and it was suppose to be removed the day of delivery only to be told they forgot to inform the gentleman who does that on site. I had to go in the following week as the deal was done on a Thursday. Finally they kept peddling me to use their financing and I already lined up using my credit union which was the best deal. If you decide to buy a used car here, be advised that they don't care about the condition of the car or the customer service, just your money in the end. I've since fixed all the issues with the car but not a very positive sales experience. I own a Mustang and have owned an F-150 in the past, I won't purchase here. read more

Just another update, in that I thought I'd see if I could take our vehicle in for service, thinking maybe they were just irritated that I even consider adding something to our vehicle that was aftermarket, and not done by them. But, nope they refuse to service our car. Per the service manager, the reason is they have no idea what those lights are tied into, and how they could have affected the vehicle. First we had an aftermarket remote starter added several years ago, and that didn't hinder their ability to service the vehicle. Hm...??? So, why are these aftermarket lights causing so much angst?! Second, it's pretty damned easy to see how the lights were tied in - not rocket science at all. And, they are mechanics, right?! You'd think looking at two little wires wouldn't cause them so much confusion. Third, their refusal to work on our car, implies that when you buy a vehicle from Ford, and you dare to personalize it, you're no longer eligible for Ford Service. If this is the case, they really need to put that in writing and warn potential buyers of that before a buyer makes the decision to buy. In our case, this Ford has one of the horribly engineered computer enhanced manual transmissions, that's supposed to make it work like an automatic. Really a piece of crap. But that transmission needs regular computer updates which you can only get at Ford. Every seasonal change, and the transmission starts shuddering, and jumping. Usually, a computer update fixes that - or makes it better. Heads-up, make sure when you buy a Ford, new or used, that it doesn't have one of these hybrid, or in this case in-bred, transmissions, as they are nothing but a headache, and if the vehicle has been altered at all - as I learned, they can use that as an excuse to discontinue servicing the vehicle leaving you a piece of crap to drive. Which I believe is the real reason behind their refusal... read more

First I would like say Andrea P, who is a sales person at Dean Seller's is wonderful. She goes above and beyond to help you get the best deal for a new vehicle. She is trust worthy and will do just about anything to make you happy. Liz who is one of the owners will make sure everything is to your satisfaction. With all that said. I recently came in for some work to be done my vehicle. Took two days. First day I was a little irritated with the service department person. He was not helpful at all never explained anything to me. And a few hours told me I need to come back for technician to finish the repairs. Said I need to pay all the parts now and labor when I come back in couple of days. Ok, no problem Until I came back. And still dealing with the same service person, he came up with more problems with my vehicle. At this point I had enough of him. I was there for extremely long time and just wanted to leave. I knew I was being over charged and was going to talk to the manager the following day. But didn't have to. He actually called me to let me know what had happened and where the overcharge was. I was not happy when I left and let them know it. But I have to say everyone went out of their way to make sure everything was correct and refunded they're mistake. Also went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with everything. Threw in a mini detail. Probably will never use. But I am very appreciative of how things turned out. I bought my very first car from here back in 1988. Dean Sellers [Jr.] was my salesperson back then. My current Escape is from here. My mom has bought and leased several vehicles from here too and she loves her salesperson, Darlene. I was here last week because I needed holes drilled in the front for my license plate (MD requires it.). Darlene saw to it that the service department took care of me. I didn't need an appointment, and only had to wait under an hour. I have also had other service work done here over the years, and have been very pleased with the service and the prices. Make sure you look your car over before dropping it off, maybe consider taking pictures. When you get your car back with damage and point it out, they immediately tell you they did not do it, we watched your vehicle the entire time. And when you take your complaint to the top, they belittle you and point out all the other vehicle flaws to diminish what they did. I slid on ice and hit a snow mound. When I pulled over, I saw cracked plastic and blue fluid leaking. I got the tire repaired and took the car to the service department. After pulling in, I had to ask a random employee where to go, as nobody approached me. They sat me at a desk and eventually Monty came. He was SUPER disinterested and barely spoke to me. I felt like he didn't care at all and was just ringing me up so he could move on. I told him what happened and what I wanted checked. Because I said I thought it was my windshield fluid tank, he put in an order for an inspection of that specifically. He also put in an order for the full inspection I wanted. An inspection would reveal to anyone with eyes whether my reservoir was broken or not. I see no reason why these should've been two separate inspections. I wanted my car inspected, and because I told him what I thought it was I was charged for two inspections. Someone called and told me that it wasn't broken and he didn't know what I was talking about. He offered no possible explanation for the leaking fluid, the whole reason I came in. He also failed to tell me over the phone that I had a huge piece of plastic under my car that was breaking off. I would've paid to have it fixed if he told me. Eventually my car was ready, so I went after work on my one day free to pick it up. The door says the service department closes at 7. I got there around 6:20 and everyone thought I was crazy for thinking I could pick up my car. I had to send my girlfriend to pick it up the next day. She says nobody spoke to her about the car and just sent her off. The plastic has been falling off more and I have had to duct tape it up. I am worried that that fluid was something important, but I was not reassured about it at all. Overall, it was a TERRIBLE experience every step of the way. I will never be returning and will be actively urging everyone I know with a ford to never go there. Thanks for replacing my lights, preforming the transmission shifter cable recall, and absolutely NOTHING else. read more

So disappointed with the service department. Have bought three vehicles from this place. This last vehicle is a dud. (Car needed new struts at 9500!) Stress fracture on windshield. Car parked in parking lot with a vehicle parked on the left and no where else. Left car for 15 min. Came back with a broken windshield. You can tell it's from the seam. Car still under warranty. Took it here and they didn't believe me. Did a "pen" test. Said there was a chip in the part that wasn't the original crack. I always tell the truth and they didn't believe me. Why would I lie? I have a zero deductible on insurance! I just didn't like the way they treated me after being such a loyal customer for years. Since they don't appreciate loyalty and honesty, well that's a red flag for me. I'm saddened to write this but I didn't expect this from them. Won't stress myself anymore with them. read more

Unbelievably terrible customer service. If I could give ZERO stars I sure as hell would. LAST time ever. My husband took his vehicle to get an oil change and it comes home with damage to it. So he calls them and they acknowledge that they inspected the car on the way in, as they do all of them, and they noted no damage.... yet somehow a huge scratch magically appears down the fender. They rudely tell him "well we can't prove it was done here"... and "I can't be painting every complainers car for them". REALLY? So, all my husband was asking was for them to look at it and propose a solution and he jumps to painting the entire car?! What a super rude and condescending loser. -10 A review I should of wrote a long time ago. This is the WORST service department I've ever had to deal with! I was having some trouble with my car engine turning off when I pressed the brake. When I took it in they told me it would be between $900 to $1000, because they had to go through each wire one by one. There would be additional costs for parts. They said it had a major electrical problem and it may be around $1500. So what do I do, what any overwhelmed women would do. I cried! Yep, I cried. Now I'm not a crying girl at all! They brought me to tears, because I was so upset with the outcome. Now I'm not a mechanic, but I do know with newer cars they hook a computer up too them and generally it will give you the remedy. I also know Ford updates their mechanics often. All that being said wait until you find out what was really wrong. The man continues to talk and at this point I can't even hear him, because I'm so worried how I'm going to pay for this astronomical repair. Then I cry some more and at this point everyone is staring at me. I was so sad and embarrassed at the same time. So a manager comes over and we talk for a bit. He felt so bad for me that he said he would look at it personally and get back to me. When he got back he informed me it was the 'Stop Lamp Switch' and the part cost $15. $15 DOLLARS!!!! and they were trying to charge me over $1000!!!! I was soooooo mad and happy and the same time. Now that was an obvious positive, so maybe I should of gave them a 2 rating. No! after they mad me cry and I was so embarrassed, the whole experience was so maddening. I have and never will go back to them and I continue to tell my story to everyone I know. Noone seems to want to sell cars at this dealership. I asked for a price on a specific vehicle, and was called back by Andrew. He seemed confused about the options, and after much back and forth still did not get me a price quote. I was unable to call him as his mailbox was full. I send him a few emails, but he insisted on only answering my questions by phone. I sent him an email that I was unable to reach him and gave up on him. I tried to get the same car price from another sales associate, Elaine. She told me that the cash incentives were 250 dollars less than what was listed on fords website. I had checked prices with other dealers and knew this was a gimmick. I asked her to change the price reflecting the true rebate but did not receive a message back from her. I can't complain at all about the service I got here. I was buying a used car and knew what I wanted. I test drove the car and the salesman didn't try to talk me into letting him tag along for the hard sell. The sales guy didn't complain when I said I'd get back to him at a later date either. When I returned, I test drove my car again, and decided to buy it. We settled on a price quickly and easily that was more than fair given that it was in great condition but a "difficult sell" car. I couldn't pick it up that day, so he drove out in the worst snowstorm before they opened on a Sunday believe it or not. I know this is the way sales should be, but I'll be damned if you ever find someone willing to go the extra mile and be honest at the same time. That was over a year ago, and I've had no unexpected problems whatsoever with the car. The guy that went the extra mile for me was Rick Cyr, I'd gladly go back to him. read more

I changed my rating from one star to two because Liz Seller, the general manager, called me personally yesterday to apologize. She took responsibility for her sales department staff and genuinely sought feedback, which I truly appreciate. She asked if there was anything she could do... and there actually was. I somehow lost my spare key over the past month or so and was going to get a replacement until I found out that it costs $150-160 for a new key with integrated keyless entry. So I mentioned that to her and she knocked $100 off. Furthermore, I need to mention how nice Rodger is. He was very helpful and worked very hard to take care of us. So yeah, I appreciate Liz and Rodger's effort and how they treat customers the right way. Now only if the entire staff of Dean Sellers Ford would have acted like that from the beginning. read more

Okay, I thought I would never write a review of a car dealer. I've had more bad experiences than good by far, and with the turnover of sales staff, what's the point? I leased a 2013 Fusion from Ryan in April. It could not have been easier (I know this sounds like a commercial, so I will try to find some nits to pick). I basically told him what I could afford to pay, and not a penny more. I test drove the car I ended up buying. Ryan came back from the manager with the payment quote, and of course it was $40 a month more than I was willing to pay. I flat out said no, and without theatrics, he left and returned with the exact payment I wanted. On the day of delivery, I got the service department tour (and I read the other reviews, so I will be cautious). I got the "your car needs an oll change every three months or 4,000 miles" which we know isn't true with synthetic oils today. Regardless, it's so rare I've met a car salesman that is exceptional by just doing his job correctly, but the experience was that good. read more
