we called about manicures for a portion of a large party. The spa said they would like to accommodate the entire party this year (this is an annual event for us). Although they were well aware of the party size, they were very understaffed. They proceeded to only paint our nails, skipping the prep that usually occurs before the painting--while still charging full price. My appointment was at 4 and I didn't get in until 5. I felt ripped off and wish I had not waited as long for a half manicure. Some of us waited close to 2 hours. I've been here two times and both were super awkward. On my most recent visit, my nail stylist kept making odd gestures during my entire experience such as squinting her eyes shut, shaking her head, making the "shh" signal with a finger over the mouth and pointing to things as if she was trying to communicate something since she didn't speak English - but I had no idea what was going on and had to ask "are you okay?" It would come and go and by the end of my visit I had to just say "I'm sorry? I'm confused." A lady came over that did speak some English and explained that she was trying to communicate the price change?? It was all just very confusing... Then, they have you pay on Venmo, which is totally fine with me, but I asked "what should I title it?" Since you have to title your Venmo payments for them to be sent, and she couldn't provide an answer. All around just very awkward. read more

I received a gel manicure and was very disappointed. I had craft paint on my nail beds from a project and he didn't try to remove it. He just painted over it. Also, the top coat of polish on four of my nails peeled off the next day and the polish underneath was still wet. I have gone to this salon several times before, but this time was the worst. Asked for a simple full set. Matte black with stars and received the worst service. As a business owner myself, I would never give my customers an experience like this. The first man, covered my thumb in nail glue applying the tips. Oops, no problem. Mistakes happen. I was then told the owner would be doing my design because it was too difficult. No problem, not in a rush at all. I waited another 30 minutes. Then a younger lady came over and began shaping and dipping my nails. Never asked for a dip set? Then applied acrylic and made me feel like she couldn't do any design. Matte black and that's all. I'm upset at this point. Matte black is fine, no design. She finished very quickly and I paid (with a tip) and left. Only to realize when I'm out in the sun, the nails are very thick, my fingers covered in black and look worse than when I went in there. I went back in, only to be ignored by everyone, including the owner. So I left and will never recommend again to any of my customers. I've been going to royal nails since they opened. Don't even think of going to Royal Nail Spa. Made the mistake of picking the closest place to my home w/o throughly reading reviews. Tired and worn facilities, humid w little AC in use (on a 95 degree day), but worst of all the quality of waxing service and price. They kept trying to increase the price during and after the service - I paid what they first quoted, which was already far too high in comparison w other shops. For the waxing itself, the technician roughly removed a very hot wax and missed a lot of places, cherry-picking where she put the wax instead of doing the entire surface. Also, no prices are listed anywhere in the shop and you find out at the end they only take cash. Seems like a place the IRS should investigate. read more

Went in for a full set and to have my toes painted, not a pedicure. I ended up in there for two hours, only got my toes painted and finally had to leave when it started going on hour three. I understand being busy on a Saturday but honestly goes a long way. I asked multiple times how long it would be and was told not much longer just to be in there for almost three hours. I will never go back to this place, what an awful experience. I needed to have shellac removed, nothing else, and the person helping me was extremely rude. He asked several times if I was sure I didn't want a manicure or pedicure and I politely told him no, I needed to give my nails a break. He did a sloppy job removing the shellac and then charged me $10 dollars for it (I've never spent more than $5 for removal at other salons). He didn't do the full removal which would normally include buffing the nails to make them smooth. Now I'm $10 out and need to finish the job myself. read more

I usually have a positive experience but I had a busy day and wanted to just stop by and get my nails done, first thing in the morning. I arrived at 9:10am and the doors were locked and no one was inside. The hours online said they should be open. Hello friends, I recently moved from Dallas/Houston Texas where this no shortage of nail salons. I went on the internet and typed in "nail salons". I clicked through a few and read the reviews. I don't get off work until 6pm, so I was worried everyone would be closed. This salon stays open to 9pm. I can't even remember what the reviews read, but I saw the pictures of the salon and all the happy patrons receiving pedicures. II called over asked if anyone could do pink and white ASAP. Alex said come by in thirty minutes. The salon is modern, clean, and just overall has a great vibe!!! Great modern Christmas decorations. I was offered tea. I'll get that next time. Alex whipped my nails together in 35 min flat. I opted for a Christmas glitter instead of pink and white, but I'm sure pink and white would have turned out fabulous as well. I will be back!!! Didn't seem like proper Covid precautions were taking place. Went for mani & pedi and many of the staff weren't wearing their masks properly (under nose and under chin). The towels that they use to wipe down the tables were the same ones they used to dry my hands. The tool kits were wrapped in packaging like they were brand new but they were previously opened and pre-used. This made it seem like they were using the same clippers, scrapers, etc. for each client even though they were being stored in what looked like new packaging. Yikes! I would go back if they added plexi glass between the chairs and stations, used brand new tools and towels each time, staff wore masks properly, and social distancing was enforced. read more

He used a sanding device and sanded them entirely too low after I told him REPEATEDLY that he was hurting me! It's taken me months to grow them back. Management did NOTHING to resolve the issue. My girlfriend and I went to this location to try it out as it is half way between each of our homes. Our experience was terrible and we will not be returning. There was an argument between staff as to who was going to serve us, as if there was an issue with us. After this display of unprofessional behavior, the pedicures were started. About half way through, the tech that was working on my pedicure started scolding the tech working on my friend. He then grabbed her aggressively on more than one occasion, smacking her hands and shaking her arms. He was very rude and aggressive with me after this incident. A different technician worked on our manicures and the experience continued to decline. They did not follow instructions and did not treat us like customers, rather a chore. If poor service and physical aggression was not bad enough, the quality of work is terrible and were were both charged more than quoted. We were so desperate to leave that we just paid and left. Upon leaving, we asked the names of the techs and got the run around. This was the absolute worst experience I have had at a nail salon and I have been to many through the last 20 years. It was a slower Saturday, mid day. I will be telling everyone I know to avoid this location and have reached out to my CC company to freeze the charges. read more

I went to Royal Nails because I needed a pedi and they were the only salon nearby open after 7. It was a poor choice. $30 for a basic manicure! Little communication when you arrive. Sat in pedi chair for over 30 min before being seen. At no time did someone speak to me or check to see how I was doing. Basic mani does not include callous work and only lasted about 20 min. There are multiple salons in the area that cost less and include more. I go for a pedi for the relaxation and soothing experience, this was not it. Nails looked ok when done, but I do not expect them to last. No bottom coat, and only one coat of polish. Please do not make the same mistake I did. read more

This was the absolute worst place I have ever been! They weren't just unprofessional they were extremely unsanitary! They brought the parifen wax out in a tub for all the customers to just put their feet in, they cleaned the tools off in the foot tub water, and the one young girl used the same gloves on multiple patrons. None of the tools were seen being opened so one could only assume the worst, which you most definitely should! To top it off they were very high priced for the services they did. Looking at my pedicure hours after I realized even more how awful they did. The polish from my last pedicure is still on there in placed and my complete nail isn't even all the way painted. The guy that did my nails was nice enough. P was friendly and funny. My nails, however, are all weird and lumpy with odd waves. Some of my nails are roundish - Some are squarish. I didn't realize the full terribleness of it until I got outside because of the dim lighting. It was $40 and there was no real 'manicure ' involved; just application of the nails. Arrived at 5:30 for my appointment for a gel manicure and pedicure. Sat with my feet in water for 45 minutes before being serviced. Two other white women came in after me and had prompt pedicures. I'm a POC and I looked around and wondered why I was being ignored and noticed I was the only brown person there. Technician did not speak to me but instead slapped at my feet to indicate what he wanted me to do. I have a broken toenail and his solution to that was to paint the skin.. The towels he used to wrap my calves were so soured and smelled like spoiled milk. After being there for an hour and a half I decided I no longer wanted a manicure. When it was time to leave the price for a gel pedicure changed from $60 to $75.. I called this morning and asked for a partial refund after explaining why I was bothered. The Pedi #10 was perfect! Just what I needed. Made it all the way to nails being painted and so relaxed I could have fallen asleep. But then....two very loud men (getting pedis) and their significant others (getting manis) came in talking across the the space loudly and the person doing my nails left to start theirs and never came back. I used the remover and brush they left, cleaned up my own edges, paid and left. I will give them another try but damn my peace and relaxation was shattered when those four came in. I've never left a review before and I never thought I would but my experience was so spectacularly awful I decided it's finally time. I was a walk in appointment for a pedicure and I chose the classic pedicure. That pedicure lasted a whopping 7 minutes from start to finish. I know this because I texted my husband when it started to give him an idea of when to come back and pick me up. My tech clipped my toenails, put cuticle oil on my toes and then painted them (sloppy, but that's to be expected). I asked her if that was seriously it and she told me it's because I didn't choose the "spa" pedicure. Okay fine, whatever. I go to pay for my $30 toenail clip and they don't take debit or credit cards, only cash apps or cash. I call my husband to come back to bring me cash so I am just waiting. While I wait (I'm the only customer in there), the two nail techs get into a loud screaming match with each other while I just awkwardly stood there. I went in with a friend and went straight to the polishes, as one does, and picked out the fancy cats eye magnetic gel. The nice guy came up and told us to pick our polish and helped find the right colors. We were seated quickly for a pedicure and given a menu that clearly said $25 for the basic. We got that and then told them powder nail full sets. Then I was told the price of everything... $125 for a full set and pedicure . She said the pedicure was actually $45 and the polish that I chose was an extra $30 to use and it didn't even do what it was supposed to do. I had the worse nail experience in my 20 years of getting nails done. And I have never written a review but this was just awful. I should've known to walk out after my first 5 seconds of being there with how miserable and rude the man was; I believe he is an owner. There was never a moment during my 10-15 minute experience that he wasn't rude. I went in to get a full set. Within the first 10 seconds of him starting he was already trying to glue on tips with no filing, no cleaning up nails, etc. I asked to have my nails cut down but he ignored me so I had to ask again. He annoyingly and rapidly clipped my nails, leaving sharp edges and uneven nails and went right to putting on tips. When I asked about cuticles he said "no unless you want to pay more, have you ever had your nails done? If so where because this is not a manicure." I was very confused as to why he was so contentious. After angrily filing the tips he asked if I liked the shape. They were so inconsistent, some were filed at a slant and some were completely square, so I pointed them out thinking it was a normal conversation but he stopped, handed me the nail file and said "well here, you do it." As you can imagine, I immediately walked out. As stated earlier the entire interaction was rude but these moments were the most shocking. I walked out with only tips glued to my nails, and before I even got out of the parking lot one of the nails had already popped off. It was only glued in the corner. In the long run he saved me from wasting money on what was already a poor job, but that experience was hostile, shocking, and uncalled for. If you go there, please do not let that man interact with you. This complaint doesn't even fall under poor customer service, he was actually aggressive. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. As a travel nurse I have been to several nail salons and this by fair is the worst one I've ever been to. I got one of the more expensive pedicures because it was my birthday and I absolutely regretted it. The nail tech was super rude and rushed through everything. The "longer leg massage" was essentially a minute long. She also grabbed the wrong nail color. In total my pedicure was probably 10 minutes long. The woman sitting next to me was still getting her pedicure when I left. She also burned my foot on the hot wax because she wasn't patient to wait for it to cool off. She proceeded to put it on my foot and then run cold water over it. Don't even get me started on the cleanliness of the place. There was stuff everywhere. There were hundreds of nail polish bottles on the floor just laying there and none of the tools they used were individually wrapped or did they appear clean and sanitized. The man that did my pedicure was very rough. I have never had a painful pedicure before. Everything he used was pre used. One of his tools was a kitchen cheese grater not an instrument made for skin. He dipped his fingers into big jars of product. Cleaning consisted of rinsing things off in the warm water my feet were in! Not once while I was there did I ever see anyone wipe anything down. I really have to write this review because the place inside is beautiful and they are friendly enough but I called ahead in my way into town asking how long the wait would be for a full set and they told me 30 minutes.. I asked to go ahead and make a appointment and I was told no need which I figured implied they weren't busy. So it takes me about 10 minutes from the time I called to walk in the door. I was sat in a massage chair while I waited which was nice but I sat there with no communication from anyone for 45 minutes.
