After a quick search and a terrible experience at a different spa in Charlottesville I found this hidden gem! I scheduled a deep tissue massage which was incredible. I wish I could remember the woman's name to recommend her to everyone. She listened to my requests which doesn't always happen and she got into places I always wanted but no one hit them. I went back the next week for a custom facial, it was lovely. I had never had a facial before so I was given a brief overview of the process. Came in for a wax and had the best experience! The woman at the front desk is kind and made the sign in process really easy. Karah did my wax and was so sweet and friendly! She kept me chatting so I would think less about any pain which was very appreciated. I'm really happy with the results and would definitely go back to see Karah :) Everything is very clean, organized, and comfy. I really enjoy this humble, little day spa that doesn't have some of fancier trappings of other spas, but has excellent services at very fair prices (and they take spa finder gift cards!) One of my favorite things is their $15 birthday voucher - it's a nice excuse to treat yourself on your birthday. I've had a full body massage there, a foot massage, and a pedicure. I bought my boyfriend and I an hour long couples massage during our trip to Charlottesville. The whole experience was great! The lady at the front desk was welcoming, the facilities very clean and cozy and our massage was INCREDIBLE! We had Carmen and Riley. They have magic hands. Both my boyfriend and I were in awe at how well they "read" our bodies and worked kinks out we didn't know we had. We felt incredible when they were finished. Highly recommend! This was a wonderful experience. My significant other and I went in for some last minute Birthday relaxation. Amy & Sherri were absolutely professional and amazing at their jobs. They truly listened to what areas of our bodies we wanted to focus on and even though we only were there for 30 minutes, it did not feel rushed at all. And, because it was a particularly special celebration, the staff even went out of their way to send us off with some goodies. It was the perfect touch. The area itself is very low key, but the space is clean and elegant and comfortable. We enjoyed the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. They also have some great deals if you check out their website! I have been seeing Karah for about a 1 1/2 years for both massages and facials. She is very thorough and relaxing for a facial. I am an athlete and was very pleased that she was able to really relieve sore muscles from my training and competing. Her technique is 'spot on' for what I need. The atmosphere at this spa is wonderful; very friendly and easy-going, and the rooms are very warm, cozy, relaxing and well decorated. Karah gave an excellent massage, one of the best, and I've had many! She gave great pressure and spent equal time everywhere. Someone I didn't really know in passing suggested Gretchen at Silver Lining Day Spa for therapeutic massage, and as my doctor had recommended focusing more on soft tissue work, I decided to give them a try. I am so grateful as her capacity to work with significant injuries and shift the body onto a healing trajectory is extraordinary. My husband and I had a couples massage and pedicure yesterday. The atmosphere was warm and Lindsay and Mary were great. I think my husband actually fell asleep at one point. The only feedback I have actually has to do with the massage room--there's too much light. I prefer a darker atmosphere. Some blackout curtains could solve this problem. The one thing I was surprised to learn is that there was only one person doing both of our pedicures at the same time. I wish I would have known that when I made the appointment. It was just awkward that the she (forgot her name, very nice woman) had to alternate between us, and the foot soaks were in a bowl instead of heated basins. My water got a little chilly waiting on my husband's pedicure that took longer because his feet were in rougher shape. Overall, it was a decent experience, but I would probably try a different place if I ever returned to the area. read more

I enjoyed my time here! I went in for an underarm waxing and it was my first time getting anything waxed. The employees were very welcoming and understanding. I did not feel uncomfortable at all during the process. I love the way they treat everyone with respect and have conversations with you like a regular person. Unfortunately, this review is only for the customer service we recieved at the Spa vs the service because we were never actually able to get our massages. I booked a couples massage on their website a few weeks ago. I recieved two email confirmations, and two text confirmations about the appointment. When we showed up to the spa, a very rude therapist was questioning our appointment and even asked to see proof which we gave her. She said "well, I dont know what to tell you but you cant get your massages today". We then recieved a phone call from another therapist apologizing for the mix up as there was a glitch on their online system and offering to give us a credit to come back, but we never saw that credit come through. We would have really liked to experience this place, but we will take our business elsewhere. read more

Eek! Methinks not! Sorry to say.... my experience was anything but pleasant. The aesthetician was nice enough however.... Upon my timely arrival I was asked to fill out simple 1/2 page form. Then my spa person promptly left the room for a full 15 minutes before returning to begin the service. A spa environment should be soothing and CLEAN. I glanced around the room. The wall to wall carpet had huge stains. The upholstered furniture was worn and dirty. The walls and trim had black scuff marks all over. Really awful decor and so shabby. Worst of all, the spa service was substandard. Ick, just plain ick!! The spa website advertises "World-Class Service" "Cutting-Edge Treatment". This is not anyones idea of a "Silver Lining". Karah, I hope this is not really your "dream". If so, you should visit a high end day spa. Then rethink. read more

This was such a simple, lovely, and relaxing experience. From the moment I walked in the door I was met with genuine smiles and greetings. The waiting area has a simplistic charm to it. The massage room was spacious. I would definitely return here for massage services in the future! read more

After driving for an hour to get there,the lady at the desk didn't even look up when we arrived. Also, it would have been very nice to know when this package was sold to us that there was only ONE nail technician on staff. My boyfriend had bought my daughter and I a package that included a massage and mani/pedi. That's 2 x 2 = 4 nail services. And there was ONE technician. We were there for 4 hours! It's a good thing I had a three day weekend. And the nail tech asked if I wanted my cuticles trimmed, and then she asked if I wanted a color???? These are things I expect whenever I get my nails done, and no one has ever asked me this. There is no professional massage chair with heated jet water either -- you get a water basin and regular chair to sit in. They should NOT be offering nail services. Then they sent their follow-up survey to my boyfriend who paid for the service but did not receive the service; I did not have the heart to tell him how disappointing this visit was. My daughter liked her massage, but I was not very happy with mine. read more
