Honestly, dont waste your time. Ther service I was going for was a pedi with acrylic on my big toe (just a little) due to breakage. I couldnt even get the service I wanted because the "acrylic specialist" was busy. So I said fine no problem I could do without it. My toe nails were uneven due to previous application that required filing. Instead of fixing it and smoothing it out, she just applied polish on top and told me she was going to just square them. I just left with the base coat on, nothing more. $45 later. I didnt argue because I am not that kind of person but if you saw what I walked out with you'd ask why I even paid to begin with. Im visiting town and just wanted them to look nice while out in sandals. Now I have to find someone to fix it. read more

Very messy acrylic set. Thick nails. Barely any cuticle care. Will be going somewhere else to correct this read more

I made an appointment for 1:30 thinking that by 2:30 or 3 I would be finished in order to make it to graduation on time. I'm still waiting at 2! Extremely irritated! Don't have anything planned for the day if you come here! Everyone kept saying "will be with you in a minute " it took forever! Bad business! I will not return! Mind you I scheduled appointments for four people! read more

This salon exceeded my expectations for the services I requested. Emily is THE BEST! She is kind, professional, and excellent at her craft. The space is also warm and friendly, as other staff are nice too. read more

My nail tech was so physically aggressive with me that I started to tear up at one point and I debated leaving in the middle of the service. When paying, my nail tech leaned over my receipt and stared directly at the tip line item so I felt like I had to tip way more than I wanted to. The nails also looked nothing like the photo I showed, so I immediately made an appointment at another salon to correct them. Just awful. read more

would not come back here. my nails are thick, uneven, and looks like a 5 year old did them.

Always a good experience- I recommend making's an appointment especially for anything like multiple services or something more specific. They do a great job for the money read more

I had an appointment at 1pm and they put my feet in the water for a pedicure and I sat there for over 40 minutes. No one came so I left.

Awesome for the price. My last pedicure at another establishment was very rushed and VERY expensive. I really enjoyed my pedicure today, and will give this salon my business from here on in! read more

Best nail appointment I've had all year! Clean. Professional. Efficient. They did a great job with cuticle care, hand massage, and removing old gel polish. Large color selection. Accepts card payment and tip. 10/10!! read more

I just love this place. Everyone is so kind and genuine. I always receive the best care and it's just overall my favorite place to get my nails and eyebrows done. as someone who's not from cville, I appreciate how warm and welcome I always feel. read more

Worst nail salon. I have given this place many chances and tried a few different techs. They are always running late, the quality varies considerably, it smells, and they have you soak your hands in acetone instead of wrapping the nails, which is incredibly toxic as you sit there breathing it in and absorbing it into your hands. I would not recommend to anyone. read more

Got this extension design nails done with Emily, it's very like the picture that I showed to her. Find the fittest nail shape for my life we discuss a lot on the shape, color, designs, and diamonds on it. Super shining and perfect for summer, love it. read more

I have been coming to Serenity Nails for the past few months and have always had phenomenal service. When I came in this week, my dip appointment wasn't up to the usual standard. Within minutes after my nails were done, a nail technician came over and offered a complete redo the next day. The nail redo went extremely well, and the staff was very understanding and accommodating. This is the type of business I will keep coming back to and recommending to friends! read more

This is definitely one of the better nail salons in Cville. They have made extra precautions with clear barriers and fewer appointment times recently due to COVID. There is a massive selection of nail polish, gel, and dip. A gel mani usually takes about an hour, and it always seems last longer and not chip as much as manis from other salons. Most of the tools come out of sealed packs, but some are shared tools which is not as sanitary. Prices are pretty standard for the area, though there are recent upcharges due to COVID. read more

Great manicure spot! Tidy, friendly service, plenty of parking, attention to detail. Kelly did a great job on my gel mani. Would definitely come here again. Bonus: wonderful little mom and pop Taiwanese restaurant next door for lunch. Win win! read more

Solid nail place with nice staff. Some better than others. Faves are Emily and Vin for mani and pedi. I've also done waxing with Phuong and was satisfied with the service for the price. This is an established small business and it's clear that owners care. It's not perfect and their version of "appointment time" is fluid at best. Plan ahead, be aware that's how they flow, and don't make it their problem if you're in a rush. Figure out who works for you and you'll likely be a happy return customer. If you're the type to fidget and complain if you're not seen within minutes of your "appointment time" then this is not the place for you. It works for me. read more

I made a reservation for 3:00pm mani pedis for my friends and I. We had to wait almost an hour (he started on me at 3:56) and the quality was terrible. No filing and barely any cuticle care. None of us will be returning. read more

Key notes: Not punctual, sloppy painting, cuts when trimming cuticles. I moved to the area a few months ago and received a personal recommendation for Helen at this salon. At my first appointment, after waiting 25 minutes past my appointment time, I had to leave. The salon didn't apologize -- they simply rebooked me. If you work FT like me, this is a problem. But I am new to the area and thought it best to offer a second chance. At my second appointment, things went alright. The service started only 10 minutes past my appointment time, and although two nails needed to be redone, we got there in the end. My third appointment was just... bad. She cut my skin twice to the point that it bled, and she painted polish all over my cuticles and my skin (telling me to "just wash my hands a lot, that it would come off"). Don't waste your money. read more

Youngest and I made an appointment on a Saturday. Turns out appointments are mere suggestions. Still it's probably better to have an appointment than not when walking in during a very busy time. After waiting a long time we happily indulged in the great massage chairs while receiving our pedicures. Because of the delay I thought I couldn't get my manicure but when I told my manicurist she insisted we could do it. And we did! Both my youngest and I were happy to have some indulgence and Serenity happily provided it. Would recommend. read more

Tried this nail salon on recommendation for mother's day. Had a reservation for three, we didn't get seated until 20 minutes until after our reservation. They didn't seat us next to each other, so one of us was sitting apart from the rest of us even though there were three open spaces next to one another. I didn't see anyone until 45 minutes after the reservation, didn't get an apology, she rushed through the pedicure, used items that had been previously used and hadn't been sanitized, was incredibly rude, and started cleaning up underneath me while I was trying to put my shoes on, pulling the towel from under my feet. Absolutely awful experience, and so frustrating to watch others around me get serviced and respected while I had to wait and wait and wait for the bare minimum and didn't get to spend time with my family. Save your time and go somewhere else in the area. read more

You all need to work on running a business. After calling to make an appointment for a full acrylic set and confirming that you all could do it, I had to wait for 45 minutes while people that had come in after me were helped first. THEN when I finally do get helped, you all told me that you in fact couldn't do an acrylic set. Even after I had confirmed over the phone when I made my appointment that you could. I get it if you're busy but don't make me an appointment if you can't even get to me for 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment. Then at least I could go to a nail salon that deserves my business. I genuinely think that the dead cockroach I had to sit next to during my 45 minute wait had a better time than I did. Never coming back and certainly not recommending to anyone. read more

I had a 2:15 pm appointment that was delayed by an hour-- asked to accelerate due to another commitment but the staff was completely unhelpful and seemingly oblivious to the fact that they had made me wait for an hour past my appointment. I would not recommend this business to anyone. read more

Came here for a gel manicure and pedicure and was happy with the service! Lots of covid safety precautions in place with clear barriers between each station, and most of the equipment used seemed to be brand new from the package to ensure good sanitation. They had a lot of color options available which is a huge plus. Prices were reasonable, although I did note a small upcharge overall due to covid. One star docked because one of my cuticles bled during the manicure due to it being cut so short, but overall good quality mani/pedi. read more

The staff are great BUT they suck at doing acrylic nails and even pedicures ! the painting is horrible my nails broke ( almost all of them ) i went back to tell them and i had to PAY JUST FOR REPLACEMENT! I thought it would've been better but none of the workers know how to do nails at all the paint was messy and nails and toes i has acrylic on my skin all of my nails where uneven and the set shown in the picture was done 4 DAYS AGO !!!!! I definitely would not recommend this place at all !!!! and not to mention nail removal was VERY PAINFUL AND LONG THEY read more

I have come multiple times and really had hoped for a different outcome... even when scheduling an appointment w 1-2 days before, they start on my nails 35-45 minutes later and rush my mani pedi. I appreciate that they use a liner for the pedi soak, and autoclave their tools. But the delays, rushed job, and cost makes it not worth it! $83 for gel mani, gel pedi. read more

Horrible manicure! - Made me bleed when cutting off my cuticles (which I didn't even want done) - shaped my nails so they look short and fat (did not even ask how I wanted them shaped) - polish looks very messy and lumpy So dissapointed! I've heard such good things about this place. read more

This salon used to be so great! Now....not great. Don't bother making an "appointment" - you will wait just like those without an appointment. An appointment to enjoy a mani/pedi yesterday ended up with me getting passed around from one person to another, being told I cut my toenails too short, and after being there for an hour and a half having only a pedicure and being told I'd have to wait 10 minutes if I wanted to go ahead with the manicure. No thanks. I understand being busy. But don't make me think I have an appointment when it's not really an appointment. I would have gone elsewhere and enjoyed the experience. read more

Every time I come to Serenity Nails, I always leave feeling a little bit disappointed. I just went today for a gel removal and it took painfully long and they badly damaged the surface of my nails. The nail technician who was taking off my gel aggressively tried getting the gel off with a scraper and when that didn't work, she would file my nails really hard until they became too sensitive and I had to ask her to stop. It even got to the point of taking too long that she would try to use a nail cutter as a plier to try and peel off the gel...which definitely can't be the right technique/good for my nails. I understand that it was probably taking a while and she was losing patience so she wanted to cut corners, but this isn't my first experience with shoddy gel removal, and my friends can also attest to this experience. I also always feel that they never want to deny any customers and as a result, become super backed up. I came in for a gel removal around 5 PM and another girl came in for her appointment at 5:30 PM and had to wait 30 minutes for my technician to finish with me (yes, it took almost 1 hour for her to scrape off my gel) which made me feel really bad. Maybe they should try to institute a strict appointment policy so this could help alleviate the issue, given that I see a lot of walk-ins come through. Phuong, the owner, is definitely super hospitable and nice and I think they do a decent job on manicures and pedicures, but I just wish they could do a better job with gel removal and managing the time of appointments. read more

Don't go to Tracy. She went Edward Scissorhands on my cuticles and made my toes bleed. When I pointed it out to her, she said in a blase tone, Yea a little, and smiled. When I said the soap in the pedicure soak was burning my cuts she tells me to pull my feet out and then she sprays them with alcohol and rubs on them with a towel! Ahhhh!! Mani was not much better. Very rough and the polish came out striped. Maybe you'll have better luck with the other nail techs but this is a no frills salon and the experience was not relaxing at all. read more

I came in closer to closing per the request of a front desk attendant. When I sat down I immediately got a bad feeling because the tech was watching Netflix while filing my nails. Red flag. I then proceeded to tell her she applied a nail tip on one of my nails crooked. Without looking she said it was fine. Red flag. I asked for sqare nails and she filed my nails to the point where some of them look like coffins. When it came time to try my nails she told me to put them in the small fan on the desk and not the long table that is typical of salons. She touched my nails and told me they were dry . I get into my car and notice the nail polish underneath is still wet enough to be moved around. I went back in and the same tech tried to fix the issue by applying gel polish on top of my wrinkled wet regular polish and curing it which of course did not work. All of this for 48 dollars instead of 45 because of the extra fee for long nails which she didn't even tell me about and my nails aren't long. I won't be returning read more

I've only been here once but I was impressed with the selection of gel colors. Bradley did my gel manicure and pedicure and though I've only had it on for a day, the craftsmanship was great. There's a fine line with gels between not going to close to the cuticle and not leaving too much room at the bottom of the nail. You can see what I mean by my picture. He did great work. I like that they have cold water bottles complementary as well. read more

This is our favorite nail salon in Charlottesville! I believe the owners are a wonderful lady named Fawn ( i'm sure I spelled her name incorrectly) and her brother. They are hands-down the nicest Nail salon owners in town! All the people that work at Serenity nails are extremely skilled in their craft. They are all very friendly and accommodating. My daughter and I have been going there for quite a while and it feels like family every time we go back. We are always greeted with a Big smile and friendly attitude. They are really good at doing gel manicures and for my extra sensitive feet the pedicures are the best. Their shop is very neat and clean with beautiful décor and extra deluxe chairs that give you free massages! We will definitely be their customers for life! read more

I've been going to this salon for years and loving it, but I had a terrible experience here today that has made me not want to return or recommend this place to anyone. I got a gel manicure, and it was so messy and sloppy that I asked them to take it off. They didn't offer me a refund or credit for another gel manicure, despite the fact that I didn't end up getting one after paying for it. I'm conflicted about this review because I've gotten my nails done here by great technicians before, but there's so much disparity among the staff and it doesn't appear as though there's standardized training for everyone. You don't really know how your nails will end up looking - it completely depends on who you get. read more
